Wonderful Book for "New" adults
My church just began a Class for new adults and we chose this book to start us off. We were not disappointed. It helped us realize the small things we do in our everyday life that lead us astray.

excellent insights to human nature; thought-provoking
Moore offers scripture-based suggestions on how to redirect our reactions to others; to be more Christ-like in our responses.

Enlightening
Great insight into what was involved with creating a new Division out of conscripts to go fight a war. Describes the day-to-day problems faced with communication, training, supplies and leadership. To think these immigrant-citizen soldiers were able to organize, fight and win at battle in such a short time period is amazing.

Angelic Revelations of Divine Truth, Vol. I & II
These books satisfied my need to put God and Truth in a logical place in my life. I honor the search for truth and the discoveries of science. The messages in these volumes underscore how science and religion work hand-in-hand to open my eyes to see the truth of who I am as a human being with a spiritual nature.

APVA Jamestown rediscovery I : search for 1607 James Fort

A great introduction to the 'rediscovery' of Jamestown
This short book details the first year of the excavations made to try to find the site of the original James Fort, the first permanent English settlement in Virginia. This book, which is the first in a continuing series of publications highlighting the discoveries, is richly illustrated with pictures of the various objects recovered which include armor, crockery and items of daily life. It is enhanced by the inclusion of paintings from the period that illustrate identical or very similar objects. There is a bibliography and informative endnotes that include accession numbers and measurements of the artifacts.

This book is written for the lay person and would be appropriate for older children. I highly recommend it!

Aura of Reality
Though speckled with wry bits of irony and humor this is a serious book. It's depictions of conditions in a politically chaotic tiny dictatorship may seem far-fetched to some but I think the gruesome truth is that these horrific atrocities are actually realistic and are brought to the public's attention in the format of an intriguing novel. Even the barbaric customs described toward the end of the story are scenes that can be found in certain parts of the world today.

The main character of the book, Nathan Rhodes, is revealed by the author, James McGovern, in an interesting mix of chapters that alternate snippets of past memories with the present situation in which Rhodes experiences emotional, political and romantic developments that are likely amplifications of his painful maturation to adulthood.

Aura of Purgatory is an interesting and well-written book whose pace accelerates in the last quarter toward an ending that leaves one contemplating life in third world countries, religion, and various avenues regarding life and its search for meaning. I recommend this definitely adult (R-rated) book.

Author's Comments
The Dragon Skies series is the dark and magical history of northern Britain in the late sixth century. The series blends myth, legend, and history into a vibrant and powerful retelling of the events that led to the birth of Northumbria and the collapse of the Romano-British kingdoms that comprised Y Gogledd. One lonely man, fated by the gods to walk the battlefields and witness the events, will become legend. This is the history of Lailoken, known as Myrddin, the last dragon harper. In the collapse of Roman Britain, the North returned to the centuries old hatreds and tribal rivalries. Each generation of kings and tyrants fought over the bones of the land. No Arthur arose to unite the kingdoms and bring peace, though there was no lack of pretenders to his legacy. Beneath a Dragon Sky begins the journey through this troubled land. Bran the Blessed seeks to fulfill his dreams of restoring his people; but the fates have another design. In the midst of the North, Ceidio's kingdom along the old Roman wall is locked between powerful enemies and will find its greatest in its shadow when Peredur Steel Arm comes to claim his legacy. The dreams of a young man with a soul for music will be tested.
