Reads like a great novel, but its true!
This is the best volume on South Texas history ever. Full of first-hand quotes, the lives of the people of this region from 1750 through the early 1900's is witnessed. It should interest people who don't even live in Texas, so much American history is intertwined with this region. Especially great is the civil war section.

Original and inspired idea -- consistently hilarious!!!
In this highly entertaining book, Mr. Spamm sends fan letters to a variety of celebrities and eagerly awaits their responses. Many times, Mr. Spamm's letters themselves are the highlight; often, the response is priceless. For example, Jimmy Carter sends a picture of himself with his late brother that was oddly touching. It's also surprising how many has-been celebrities still respond as though they're "someone". Overall, a winner!

Chrissy's on the right track
This book is absolutely wonderful for parents and children. Chrissy is very brave to say things such as "Parents do not deserve our disrespect just because we're pouting" and "We are asked to trust our parents. Can we trust them? Can they trust us?" Kids are really enjoying her book.

This story haunts you long after you finish it.
This is one of the rare books that leaves you speechless after you've turned the last page. James Hays does a wonderful job putting you right into the mind of a young and beautiful murderess named Sharon Kinne. I experienced every human emotion while reading this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in true crime. I take that back, I recommend "I'm Just An Ordinary Girl" to everybody. But beware, the moment your eyes are laid upon the first sentence, you will be hooked! Be prepared to lose sleep!

I.T. The InnerTerrestrial

Fascinating new dimension to science fiction writing!
I loved taking this journey to inner-space with author James Allen Starkloff in the ground-breaking new science fiction novel, I.T. His hero, Cy Lest is a thinking man's twenty-first century sci-fi hero. I enjoyed the new take on the endless possibilities involved in traveling to other dimensions, some no bigger than a speck of dust. We all think of space travel as light years to new galaxies, but this revolutionary idea takes us to the galaxies surrounding us that we never thought of as existing in everyday objects. I recommend this enjoyable and fascinating read to anyone.

Issac Asimov: Lord of Robots
I bought this book on a whim, and man was I glad I did, it is superb! The book is split up into four different stories which all focus on I-Bots, the first examples of artificial intelligence. The first story begins by chronicling the life of an American spy in WW2 Germany then rockets to the near future, and leap frogs again to many points in bettwen. The book is fully illustrated with wonderfull artwork, that trully matches Asimov's genius. If you are at all interensted in robotics, or are just looking for a good book to read, buy The History of I-Botics, you won't be dissapointed. Peace.

an outstanding map of the Samoas
As the author of Tonga-Samoa Handbook, I've used James A. Bier's map of the Samoas many times to check dubious place name spellings or to verify geographical information. The detailed index makes finding places a breeze and the drawing is amazingly clear. I recommend this map highly.

Later edition available
A later edition of this book was published in 1994. The later edition has been broken down into 3 volumes by Oakwood Press. The 1994 edition has been rewritten with new material added that takes the history of the railway up to 1993. The later edition has also been broken down in to a diary of year by year account of significant events that have shaped the railway. Both the 1974 and the 1994 editions are very good reads and contain different texts there are some photographs that are common to both editions, and a good number that are unique to each publication
