Inspirational spiritual truths in a fiction setting.
What sets this book apart is Don's ability to explain how life works succintly, clearly and in an interesting manner. He has done his homework. On page 1 of the book, it says that this is an absolutley true story. That would suggest that this story is based on Don's personal search for a more meaningful life. He was blessed indeed to have a spiritual guide adopt him for instruction. I have been on a spirtual path many years and still found it a great summary of spiritual truths and an interesting easy read. I was inspired to strengthen my own resolve to live in tune with my heart and less selfishly. I would highly recommend it for anyone who is seeking answers or inspiration. I will definitly use it for gifts.

A brilliant and important work
This book is an engrossing and wonderfully written adventure allegory, which resonates in the heart as a call to love and forgiveness. The author paints a clear and riveting picture, the characters are nicely developed, and the plot is fascinating without being predictable. Kudos to the author for an entertaining, meaningful, and significant work!

Is there life beyond words? Yes.
Every once in a while I manage to get my hands on a book that changes the way I see everything. The Teaching, like Illusions, did just that. I read it twice, just to make sure I got everything and found a bunch of new things I missed the first time.

This is truly a great book.

HIstorical Fiction at its Best
Anyone who has held an antique in hand and felt the magnetic pull of the history of the object will enjoy this book. I had not previously been a student of Native American history or a fan of the western book genre, but Coldsmith succeeds in creating characters to whom I could relate as fellow human beings. The device of linking past to present through the spanish bit is ingenious.

Very Fun
Don Coldsmith paints a picture of a time almost forgotten. I own the whole "Spanish Bit" set. What a great journey.

What a masterpiece!
In "Trail of the Spanish Bit," physician Don Coldsmith brings to life an interesting and varied cast of characters as they very well might have been at the time of early European contact with North America's native peoples.

Coldsmith's "Elk Dog People" are a prairie native nation that is a composite of a number of horse culture tribes. However, when they first encounter "Heads Off," the marooned Conquistador, the People are part of a pedestrian, stone age culture. For better or worse, this first Euro contact changes the People and their way of life forever.

Coldsmith is an excellent story-teller. His characters are well-developed and not the cardboard stereotypes usually associated with the genre. Dr. Coldsmith is a literary talent with a great imagination.

If you have any interest whatever in Native Americans or western history, buy this book!

Inspiration
I love this book! It is out of print so I buy up all the copies I can get on line and give it as gifts. It's easy to read and truly inspirational. I feel like Glaphre is my dear friend and prayer partner. This book has been a tremendous help to me as well as those to whom I give it.

A Very Honored Book In My Library
While I have been a Christian since I was child, in 1984 the Lord began working "anew" in my life. In addition to having a wonderful mentor placed in my life, I became an avid reader of Christian books. Glaphre's When the Pieces Don't Fit still remains as one of the books that had a powerful impact on my life. By now I have hundreds of books in my personal library, but Glaphre's book remains at the top of my list to give as gifts or to lend out. For years I have been sadden by the fact that it is no longer in print. If you desire to grow closer to the Lord, and if you desire to learn how to "hear" the Lord speak to you, Glaphre's book is for you! I hope you can find a copy.

Living in the presence of God
Before this book went out of print, this reader bought numerous copies to give to family, friends, and teachers. (Are you listening, Zondervan?) Anyone who has ever dealt with depression, disappointment, and disease should read this book. Through Glayphre's very real and honest conversations with God, we experience a God who longs for us to live in His grace and love and wants to help us to be whole, both mentally and spiritually. God moves Glayphre out of all of her disappointments, even her disappointment with God, into a life of victory through obedience. Next to the Bible, this is the most powerful book this reader has ever read!

Best American Historical Fiction I have ever read
Mr. Wright's story of Morgan's rescue mission is phenomenal. All of the characters -- good, evil, starring, and supporting, could be real--no, they ARE real. I cannot believe that this book is out of print -- Mr. Wright's sequel to this, "The Captives", and two other books I have had the fortune to find, "Gone to Texas" and "The Last Plantation", are also wonderful tales, told from the heart. I have read "The Woodsman" and "The Captives" three to four times apiece now, and I still would stay up all night to read them again. If you have a chance to buy or read this book, DO IT.

Great Book
I have searched for ten years for this book with no luck until I looked for it on amazon. This book would make a great movie. I will now try to get the sequel "The Captives" also by Don Wright.

The hunt was worth it!
I loved this book too! My sister is "streetcar" and I found this book for her after hunting for it for weeks. She was very happy to have a new copy!

Don't Overlook this Book
Overlooked performances from the movie stars of old or the present crop, take your pick. Whichever you prefer make sure you read John DiLeo's book. He captures the performances in such a way that you feel you are watching the film while reading his eloquent, captivating description. It is an absolute joy for any movie buff.

I CARRY THIS BOOK WITH ME!
My newly discovered hobby is tucking this book under my arm, stuffed with an array of bookmarks, old business cards and straw wrappers -- to help seek out these cinematic gems when I enter my video store. Author DiLeo has unearthed a wealth of fantastic performances in films that I never would've thought to view or even knew existed! I actually called in sick to work one day after viewing three of his recommended classics back-to-back till the wee hours. What a glorious night! Mr. DiLeo... you're gonna cost me my job! BUY THIS BOOK!

Brilliant and scintillating!
John DiLeo's opinions and quips are quick, tart, and fun. But this book wouldn't be as fascinating if that was all that was going on. The depth of his film knowledge, his obvious love of movies, and the acuteness of his recommendations make this a wonderful book for anyone--from cinemaniac to cultural reader.

A Gem of Science-Fiction/Fantasy
C.B.Don presents a gem of contemporary science-fiction...a treasured rarity. This fantastic tale is a bizarre mix of science and a fictional millenia-old bee-world in a dazzling setting. The characters are painted vividly with great imagination. The life style and habits of the Magi bee-beings and their spectral perceptions of the world about us seem to be sheer fantasy, but are mostly wonders based on true scientific facts. The fable-like tale is a reminder to humanity of forgotten stewardship and duty to our planet and is presented with a remarkable new flavor. This engaging novel is a delight in prose and lighthearted, meaningful verses from the front cover onward. Educational and entertaining for young and adult fans of nature and fantasy. I really enjoyed this book and will re-read it may times over!

A new approach to environmental issues
I think this is a great way to enlighten readers of all ages about environmental problems. In recent times, ecological issues have been pushed to the wayside but this book brings them to light in an innovative and creative way. C.B Don has a wonderful imagination yet is obviously very knowledgeable about the subject matter. A+ for her and for Accused by Facet-Eyes!

Easy to pick up, hard to put down!
Accused By Facet-Eyes is the memorable science-fiction novel of humanity called to account for their depredations upon planet earth by the insect like Magi Queendom. A fantastic, mind-numbing journey through a world of alien perceptions and multifaceted vision, Accused By Facet-Eyes creates an amazing, captivating world that is unlike our own and yet all too close. C. B. Don is an original and superbly skilled storyteller who blends science fiction, fantasy, and environmental elements into one of those works of speculative fiction so easy to pick up and so difficult to put down.

Angel: A Mighty Fortress

Passionately written
Angel: a Mighty Fortress is the kind of book that has to be read in one sitting---from the first word to the last, you will be enthralled with each member of the crew and the paths that their lives take. From each little mystery to the innocent yet powerful love affair, Don Gaddo and Leslie Barnett beautifully show the dichotomy between the tragedies and miracles of war. This book is one that should be in everyone's home library!

Angel,A Mighty Fortress
I enjoyed this book so much because you see my husband grew up with the author and we know or knew most of the people in the book personally! This book is an amazing story about WWII and the men and women who died for their country. We knew last summer that Don was writing this book when Sharon [Don's wife], and Don stopped to see us while in Illinois visiting with family and friends. We went out to dinner and while talking about old times and reminiscing Don told us of his search for information about his cousin, Lt. Joe Doglio. He told us of his stop at a Military Museum while on a vacation and how he found the information about the crew and the Angel and how he called the men who were still living to get the first hand accounts of the events that led to the death of the crew and the demise of the Angel. It was a heart wrenching story that needed to be told. We are forever grateful for their friendship and hope to be able to read a sequel to Angel some day soon!

Angel: A Mighty Fortress
"Angel: A Mighty Fortress" is a refreshing blend of WWII history and insight into the lives of the Angel crew...neither aspect dominating the other. It is novels like this that make people want to read about history...In part because they may not realize that is what they are doing. It is possible to walk away from this book aware you are touched by the tragic deaths...but unaware of the historical knowledge gained at the same time. It is also easy for younger generations, such as mine, to look at the WWII gneration as "them". People whos sacrifices are part of a time long gone. The personal accounts of this novel bing to light the fact that "they" are me, only a generation earlier. This novel is a work the soldiers, their familes and the authors can be proud of and that readers can use to connect to them.

Honest, eye opening and very readable
This book is a facinating look at what one loving family has to deal with when looking straight at a child stricken with schizophrenia. It is hoped that this book would shed light on those today who may have a child with schizophrenia. As you read this book, you are drawn right into Nancy's family and are given a very revealing look at what the whole family had to deal with. This book sheds truthful light on a controversial human being and the notorious way she made herself to be

punks
i really thought this book was amazing it reminded me so much of my childhood with my brother, he had many of the same problems as nancy and i remember what it was like to go through all that. i grew up in the same town as nancy and went partly to the same schools shes gone to. and frm what i know from everybody around here who knows the whole story is that they know nothing about nancy they only saw what was in the tabloids not what she was really like, this book really brings it out in the open, i have met her mother when i was younger when she came to our school to talk about the program she starte with the familys of murder victims, she talked about her other program tho, it was ending violence in school, never would i relize who i was actually sitting in front of, this book willl definitly tell u who the spungend really where

indepth analysis from an insiders viewpoint
i give deborah spungen very much credit for having the courage to write this book...coming from a virtually indentical childhood...it made me realize just what i had put my parents through...mrs spungen was villified for the actions of her child in nancys later life and was left raw for the whole world to see after nancys death... i can understand, being a child like nancy once. the reasons and the motives for the spungeons doing what they did. this is one of my favorite books of all time, and has been for the past 6 years. i would reccomend it to anyone who wants to know more about this infamous woman or to a samller degree the impact punk had on not only the entire world, but the small towns that these anti-celebrities cames from...
