Cool Story-Great Illustrations!
I thought this was a book about the Broadway play 'CATS' anyway it was a great read, and it has good pictures. Buy it!

Purrfect in every way!
Cats, cats, cats is a purrfect addition to anyone's library. I thoroughly enjoyed this beautifully illustrated and delightfully authored book. From the first delicious rhyme to the last, I felt like a kid again. I smiled with glee as I turned each page to discover the mischievous adventures of Mrs. Brown's cats. Although it is listed as a children's book, the book is a must for anyone who likes to escape on a silly and tender adventure cuddled up with a good book. I would recommend reading it to youngsters at bedtime and then again to yourself because the illustrations are so exquisite and the clever writing is sure to make you grin ear to ear. Cats, cats, cats is a must, must, must!

Fun, Fun, Fun!
Mrs. Brown loves her cats. She loves the softness of their fur and the loudness of their purr. She loves to comb their fluffy tails and manicure their nails. She loves to fill her lap with them and sometimes, take a nap with them. And all day long as her cats snooze away, Mrs Brown does all her household chores. But, in the evening after she puts down their food and goes up to bed, Mrs Brown's cats party the night away, eating spaghetti and throwing confetti, dancing and chasing their tails, knitting and purling and whooping it up until the crack of dawn. And then, as the new day begins, the cats begin their beauty sleep and Mrs Brown starts cleaning up their mess and putting her house back in order again..... Lesla Newman has written a charming and humorous picture book that will delight both youngsters and adults with its expressive rhyming text. Her gentle story is only outdone by Erika Oller's wonderfully busy and detailed watercolor artwork and kids will be mesmerized as they watch the many antics of Mrs Browns very talented felines. Perfect for children 3-7, Cats, Cats, Cats makes a terrific gift and is sure to make a cat lover out of everyone!

Dorland's Medical Speller rocks!
This book was purchased for a hospital radiology department including transcriptionists with as little as one year and as many as 19 years' experience. We love it - it has come in handy many times since purchase!! We highly recommend it for use by transcriptionists in any genre.

Dorland's is a Dream !
Dorland's Medical Speller is a must for every medical transcriptionist. Even though this book is in dire need of new publication because so much has been added in the last 9-10 years, it is in constant use in our hospital medical records dept. It has become so worn from use that we have had to punch holes in each page and place them in a 3-ring binder, BUT it keeps on keeping on !!

Top of the line reference book for medical transcriptionists
I have been a medical transcriptionist for going on five years and I have used this book more than any other reference book I have. It has more "word power" in a single volume than any other I have come across and is well worth the price!! I started working in a hospital as a transcriptionist and then branched out in other areas of medicine when I went to work for a national company and this book has been a very big help in that transition when doing unfamiliar work types. If you are in the medical transcription field, you will never outgrow this wonderful reference book!!

How to stay cool calm & collected
This book is great. This book has helped me alot, For work and my daily life. I have bought this book for 3 people. They all love it too. If you need help to deal with you job this is the book.

Wonderful book on making the right choices in your life.
This book is a very positive book on your choice for living regardless of your circumstance or situation. In this fast paced society, it's hard to take time to stop, slow down and get out of the rat race. Bottom line is this is a book that shows you exactly how to cope with everyday stress in life. It helps you to change and create a positive mindset even when your world is in turmoil.

Amazing!!!
Amazing is what I achieved in my professional and personal life after applying what I read in this book!

Being a principal at a big consulting firm, I'm responsible for some very challenging (to say the least...) projects. Stress is a constant in my professional life. At home, I've 2 stepdaughters, one with 15 years-old, an awful temper and a I-know-everything-and-I-do-what-I-want attitude. Stress, again, when (ever) I arrive home from work.

Until I read this book, my life had been pretty lousy: fights at home all the time, long hours (to compensate for the lack of concentration) at work, weekends too short to recover, a lot of illnesses (recurring colds, collitis, allergies, ...), overweight, you name it!

Now, I REALLY feel great: I lost a lot of weigth, my famliy life is better, I'm a lot more productive at work, ...

Get it, read it, use it, apply it!

Creating Memories
I had a wonderful time reading through this book and remembering the things my parents did for me. Now I almost always give this book to new parents. In this busy day and age it's easy to forget that the most simple tradition can mean a great deal.

A "must have"!
Every family should own a copy of this book! From now on, I will give every new parent I know a copy of this one. I wish my parents had it when I was growing up. Worth every penny!

Practical, Helpful, A Pleasure to the Eye
This is a great baby shower or new baby gift because parents can refer to it for years and years. The idea ares not crafts and cooking, but doable without alot of fuss and mess. I especially like the way the book is broken into timeframes--things you can do with your child in a minute or two, or five minutes,half-an-hour. I give it all the time. And if I know the new grandparents Igive them Little Things Mean A Lot.

A perfect book for our phony society
Today corporate America has joined the sanctimonious trend in our society under the "giving back" theme. I imagine what a breath of fresh air it would be to hear the following candid statement from a corporate CEO or Board Chairman after refusing to kowtow to political correctness:

"We sell a quality product that our customers value. We have provided our employees with the means of supporting themselves with dignity, good wages, benefits, and a good working environment. We have worked hard to create wealth for our investors who after all are people with varying needs and means - and not all of them fantastically wealthy. We pay our share of taxes. In summary we already gave back to the community! As for giving to charity - any of our investors has the right to give in any way or amount (time or money) to any organization he or she sees fit. They don't need us to make that decision for them."

The "giving back to the community" phoniness implies that while running a business you are obviously taking from others - you are a drag on society at large and need to give back to equalize things - Karl Marx couldn't have come up with a better slogan.

Highly Recommended!
Curt Weeden tells corporations that social investing through charitable contributions can help society, and can be good business. Then he explains why, and how. This detailed guide explains ways to get the most out of each philanthropic investment, benefiting the non-profit organization and the company's reputation, employee motivation and bottom line. Weeden provides only a few examples of companies that have engaged in corporate social investing, but the introductions by Paul Newman and Peter Lynch are more hands-on because both are active in philanthropy. The book focuses on instructions for setting up your firm's social investing system. Suggestions cover choosing a non-profit recipient, figuring tax benefits, and other nuts-and-bolts issues. The book is oriented to CEOs and top corporate managers, though we at getAbstract also recommend it to academics, stockholders and fundraisers. If you are considering social investing, this is a good guide. And if you're not, it'll explain why you should. (Note: Tax matters discussed are

A Must-Read for Nonprofits
Nonprofit organizations, particularly grassroots agencies, would do well to absorb the lessons in Corporate Social Investing which demystify and challenge corporate giving policies. We've found it much more enjoyable than most business texts, and we found ourselves laughing at some of Curt Weeden's analogies on more than one occasion.

Strong to passive, a strong story and mystery
When I first picked up this series, it was after I had read the Guinevere Trilogy, by the same author, Sharan Newman. My mom had gone to a conference for Mystery Writers and picked up a bunch of her books, including the first installment of her Catherine Levendeur Series. I fell in love with it, and each year my mom returns to the conference she gets me a signed copy of her latest adventure. The character was very headstrong then, but now, in this sixth part of the continuing series, Catherine has taken motherhood, and life in mideval France to a more mature level. It's very enjoyable to see how the characters of Edgar, Catherine, and their children have changed over the years in the stories, but it may not be as strong as in the first few.

In this novel, Catherine, her husband Edgar, and the rest of her family trek the miles to distant Germany to save her younger, estranged sister, Agnes, from an undetermined fate, as she was accused of the murder of her new husband. The conflicts are understandable and believable as we see her struggles to hold a family together in a time and place of racial anger and missunderstanding with the various culture clashes.

Sharan Newman's views and enterpretation of the time peroid are amazing and fantastic to see, but some of the plot becomes rediculous and confusing, as well as Catherine's strange newly-found, docile sense of motherhood. It seems that she is no longer taking on the mysteries of this novel, but leaving it to her husband. I enjoy this series very much. It is a must read! Take it from me, you should pick up this series, but don't be dissapointed if the attitude changes from book to book. The years do go by swiftly, and Catherine is, and always will be a little too headstrong for her family, no matter how any children she has! Try it out for yourself!

Another solid effort in the Catherine and Edgar story
Ms Newman does it again - a perfectly detailed, well-written mystery. This time, I even had a hard time figuring out "who done it", which isn't always the case with her books. Once again Catherine, Edgar, and their children are on the road. First, to visit Catherine's old convent, then on to Germany to help Catherine's sister beat a murder charge. Her lovely, graceful sister has turned her back on devoutly Catholic Catherine and her Jewish family (it's a complicated tale - your best to start with the first book, Death Comes as Epiphany and go from there!), but Catherine still feels the pull of family ties. Now, sis has been charged with her bridegroom's murder and she has no one to defend her, except Juhan, a more-than-slightly dangerous knight. Meanwhile, it's a dangerous time to be Jewish in Europe, fanatical Christians are preaching vengeance against the Jews - and Catherine's father is feeling the pull of his birth, to return to his Jewish heritage. The complexities of the family that Catherine's sister has married into make solving the mystery a bit more tricky than other Newman books. In fact, while the mystery elements are always good, they are surpassed by the development of characters and relationships. What will become of Edgar's sister Margaret (who plays a big role here) - will she find the good match for bloodlines that her birth demands, or will her attachment to Solomon (Catherine's stoutly Jewish cousin) grow, and vice versa? Will Catherine keep getting pregnant every time she leaves Paris? Will Hubert really leave it all behind to live openly as a Jew and how will that affect his wife and children? This book develops these side characters - including Solomon, one of my personal favorites and Walter, a knight from their past on his way to the crusades. Stay tuned - I have a hunch that things will continue to be very interesting for our Catherine and Edgar!

Catherine and Edgar in Trier
In this latest book, we get to see the lives of the aristocracy and the peasants in Trier. Catherine and her family deal with murder, family relationships, and offshoots of the established church. I am always fascinated with the glimpses of the Jewish communities as well as the disagreements within the Catholic Church. We get a feel for the difficulties of life in those days, and the strength needed to overcome them.

Good book and exciting to read. You are there
This book takes you into the party and nightlife of Hollywood. I actually felt I was there in the clubs with this guy. I will never look at Stallone the same way again.

WOW!
To think that this book was written in 1993. I remember seeing the author on Oprah, talking about all the stuff in the book and how some people believed it wasn't true. Sure enough years later, it all turns out to be true, from O.J., to Downey, Sheen, Rod Stewart, et. al. I liked it.

This book is great.
This book is the first book I have ever read that names names and places. It is about time someone gave us a truthful take on Hollywood and the Hollywood life. It appears no one knew Hollywood like Rayce Did. The funny thing is that 11 of my friends have read my copy. Everyone wants to read it.

First Graders Recommend
First grade students complimented the charming watercolor illustrations, THEN noted that this story is both happy and sad. When Mole finds an abandoned baby bird, he takes it home. He builds a nest for his new charge, finds it food, and learns how to feed it. When the bird flutters its wings to fly, Mole builds a cage. Thankfully, grandfather arrives just in time and helps Mole learn the lesson of love and loss. First graders waited with bated breath for the story's conclusion. Would Mole set the baby bird free?

beautiful story about love
Mole finds a baby bird and wants to keep it as a pet. He loves his bird so much but realizes, with the help of Granddad Mole, that the bird is meant to fly.

The lesson of loving and letting go is a special one in this book.

Uber-great book
"Mole and the Baby bird" is a book that has a lot to give. The story is told in sparse - yet resonating text, and the message is clear and strong. Mole learns that baby bird needs to be free via the gentle nudging of his grandfather. The illustrations are detailed and delightful - the spread where mole pretends to fly is beautifully rendered. I came home with so many "abandoned " birds - I just wish this had been around when I was young.

Real World Talk about Autism
It's so exciting to read what the direct care workers who spend their days working with autistic kids say! My son is in a school for autistic children - the entire staff surround him with love while they push him to learn and develop. ABA, the method Newman discusses, can seem cold and a little frightening when it's just words in a text or manual. To see it in action is to see why it works so well, and this book celebrates the love and caring that make ABA work. The passion in every chapter leaps off the page. It's inspiring, it's reassuring, it's the best description I've seen of ABA in daily use.

Praise from a Direct Care Worker
Joy, Sadness, Frustration, Love...there are not enough words to describe the emotions I go through on a daily basis. It is so refreshing to finally read something from MY point of view.

These case studies reflect my life. This is what I do and how we do it. The book is refreshingly honest with direct care workers point of views. A must read for anyone considering the field of ABA or even mildly interested.

The people are all different, but the point is always the same. it's always for the kids.

Informative Perspectives
As the parent of an autistic child, I found this book to be an invaluable source of information, support, and comfort. To put it simply, this book gets to the heart of our children's everyday struggles in a real way. Drawing it's strength from numerous contributors, the case studies allow the reader to study different treatment plans in action and gain a well-rounded view of ABA. In each case study, I was able to find strategies that I could utilize to help my child attain her goals. What more could I ask for? I thought the book was terrific and I highly recommend it!! Another job well done!!!!
