I had read this book almost a decade ago so I don't remember if it discusses the botanical names of the plants used in making moxa. For e.g., mogusa japonica or artemesia vulgaris etc. For that kind of information get any of Jayasuria's books.

My cat Spike is overjoyed at the idea of not heading for the vet everytime something is a little 'off.' This book takes a lot of the mystery out of his behavior and reactions to things. I shared this little book with my Vet who was very impressed with the simple but accurate descriptions given by the author. I am not a big fan of chemical interventions and this book provides easy to follow alternative (natural, homeopathic) ways to approach Spike's problems in life. Topics are grouped logically and are easy to find quickly. Everything from hairballs to fussy eating is covered here. The kitten information is very good.

I'm soooo looking forward to getting this terrific Economics Dictionary/Encyclopedia. Wonder what's taking the publisher so long to get it out? Price is about one-third what the original cost. I thought of getting that original one back in graduate school (Ohio State University). But now the softbound will do just fine, as a welcome addition to my library. Ohhh, Palgrave, where ***are*** you??? Come to my ***mailbox***. Quickly, please........

Six tutorials address six case problems. Each tutorial has two sessions requiring about one hour each. An attached CD contains sample files.

The book is part of an instructional series and is very carefully designed. Each tutorial contains a number of well-integrated components. A case problem is followed by a step-by-step, illustrated instructions. The instructions are nicely set off from accompanying comments and reference materials. Each tutorial is followed by optional problems and case studies that can extend each tutorial by another hour or two.

The book is nicely printed in three colors on heavy 8-1/2 X 11 stock that lays flat.

I have purchased four other VB study guides for my staff. This is my favorite.

With stories like "Ferryman" (Eric Brown), "The White Stuff" (Peter F. Hamilton & Graham Joyce), and "A Night on Bare Mountain" (Graham Charnock), anthologies don't get any better than this. My only quibble is with the experimental narrative "Thirteen Views of a Cardboard City"(William Gibson) which rounds out the volume with a whimper, not a bang. Otherwise, this is Hugo & Nebula territory.

Like the first volume, this is excellent. Once a crossword puzzler gets the hang of diagramless puzzles, regular puzzles will seem ho-hum. A one page essay is included that nicely explains techniques and strategies for solving this type of puzzle.

This book did exactly what Cardinal Dulles said it would, give a concise overview of Newman's theology as well as give adequate background on Newman's life and what significance his writings have for contemporary theology. I found this book to be a fine introduction to Newman's thought; readable for a beginner and yet thorough enough to be kept as an on-hand reference.
