Sneeze, our beloved hero from the first book, is again teamed up with his friend Twig for a quest to find out why Winter has not yet reached their forest. Again they encounter many characters, in which Wendy's dolls never fail to amaze me. She is so incredibly gifted. I would like to show this book to anyone who does not appreciate winter as a season, because while it's not the "moral" of the story...it takes a look at winter as being the season for rest so that everything can be reborn in the spring. It tells a magnificent tale.
Not only is it a wonderful book to read and enjoy, but it's a treasure to put up on the shelf or coffee table for looking at again and again.

It covers everything that you need to understand during those first few months, and it does so in an easy to understand, straight forward manner. It is written with wisdom, experience, and kindness. This book helped me immensely when my Mother was
diagnosed with cancer in March 2001 - having no prior experience or knowledge of what cancer was about. This is the book to get to arm you with enough information that you can help yourself.

Amber Laughton proves that the more you keep secrets the more embroiled your life becomes. But hey, what a great character she turned out to be.
Gideon has a story behind him and he turns out to be a great friend to Derek even though they had just met 300 miles before the story starts.
Even with the vagueness of the scene where Derek gets shot, I am surprised he stayed in the saddle long enough to make it home let alone up to his bedroom. Wonderful care-giving action and emotions with Derek's healing.
Beau does need a lady friend to heal his heart and soul. Was really glad to hear that Nathan showed up. Loved the shoot-out with the KKK.
Great story - GREATLY RECOMMENDED --M -- good addition to your library.
I'm not sure if a sequel is planned, but I heartily hope the powers that be will let Ms. Douglas write a book for Gideon, Nathan and Beau. These guys are as HOT as Derek!

My one minor complaint would be that the Sourcebook lacks almost any real information on proper play submission formatting (despite the fact that the book touts this assistance heavily on its covers).
As most theatres routinely point writers in the direction of the Sourcebook to answer such questions, it's a disappointment to find that the Sourcebook's _entire_ section on formatting consists of: one line of sample dialogue, followed by a somewhat confusing short paragraph which verbally describes formatting in vague terms as being essentially the same as those for screenplays -- and that's it. As I've been misled before on preferred formats for play (versus screenplay) submissions, a single sample page would have been an invaluable help.
But that's just one small complaint. And as a reference and information source, the Sourcebook is still a must-buy.
Sources for production, contests, funding are updated each year (a couple of quibbles...I found one deadline date that was off last year), as well as useful service organizations for playwrights, and for those who haven't realized that a play is not a screnplay, always a lesson on formatting.
The Theater Communications Group puts out a lot of useful publications, but this one is at the top of my list.
