Excellent Resource!!
Superb! Bill lifts the veil off of a very difficult subject and explains in plain English the things that every emergency responder in the world ought to know about autism.

Parents... Buy this book and force it into the hands of your local police/fire/rescue departments. The more you educate your community about autism, the less risk your autistic child will face in the instance of an emergency.

This is an invaluable resource...

Joe Peifer

Bill Davis Does It AGAIN!!!
Bill Davis does it once again with Dangerous Encounters. If you have a child with autism, young or old, this is an invaluable book for your family. The book is an incredible resource on how to make your child(ren) and family as safe as possible in many different situations.

Bill provides plain and simple answers to the questions none of us want to answer or think about. But when the unthinkable happens, you need to be prepared and so does your community.

Dissenting Electorate: Those Who Refuse to Vote and the Legitimacy of Their Opposition

Great contribution to political (and anti-political) theory
In a 1984 speech, Wendy McElroy -- a great individualist anarchist and co-editor of this collection -- said, "[I]t has become necessary for individualist anarchism to develop a comprehensive defense of anti-political theory in order to counter the grotesque spectacle of anarchists running for President." In this book, she and her co-editor Carl Watner have taken an important step in this direction with this great assemblage of articles arguing against taking part in political activity, and most especially against voting.

I had expected this book to be heavy in weighty and contentious theory. In fact, it's divided into a number of easily digestible essays from great writers, including Lysander Spooner, Frank Chodorov, and Robert LeFevre, among others. McElroy's own contribution is her remarkable and memorable piece, "Why I Would Not Vote Against Hitler," while Watner presents nothing less than "The Case Against Democracy."

To make the case for not voting, and for rejecting political activism, is to swim against the tide of nearly everything modern Americans are taught to value -- as well as against much of the modern "Libertarian" movement, which views libertarianism as a competitive "public policy" option instead of what it properly is: a rejection of "public policy" altogether. These provocative and well-argued essays make a solid argument that, in contributor George Smith's words, "libertarians should oppose, not this or that Senator, but the office of 'Senator' itself" (p. 53), and help to recapture the time-honored libertarian conviction that voting is, in itself, an intolerable act of aggression against others.

I very highly recommend this challenging title.

Moral Culpability
The book starts off with a great Adin Ballou essay on the superiority of moral power over political power. It sets the stage for why we shall not vote. Then, Lysnader Spooner, Frank Chodorov, and others 'splain why we shall not underwrite evil, give consent to the plunder of our fellow men, or give legitimacy to political power throught the electoral process. Wendy McElroy even tells us why voting against Hitler is illegitimate. So forget the "lesser of two evils", and instead strip the State of its legitimacy and don't vote!

An Enchanting Book
I found this book to be very enchanting. Not only does this book draw you into the exciting and magical world of Fairies, but it also serves to stimulate the imagination of the individuals fortunate enough to come into contact with it. The pages within this book consist of light-hearted whimsy that appeals to all age groups. Despite having purchased the book for my infant daughter I found myself returning to it regularly for a little light-hearted entertainment. I would also like to encourage everyone purchasing this book to also buy the book entitled "Fairies from A to Z", authored by the same author, Adrienne Keith. The two books cover similar subject matter, and seemingly belong together. This is positive given that both seem well written and thoroughly entertaining to all.

Oh! To feel like a child again......
I opened the package for this book and felt like I was 5 years old again, opening a long-awaited present. I cuddled up on the couch with this book and as I opened the cover, magic sprang from the pages. I felt the smile on my face as I read this book, that is a true treasure for anyone who is a child at heart. It brings back the days when you really did talk to fairies and you whiled away the days in childhood wonder at the world. Tucked in a pocket in the back, you'll find a wonderful little fairy house that is so easy to build yourself, yet folds down nicely for storage. I hope they continue to make new titles like this

Great book
This is a great Indian cookbook- the recipes are detailed and authentic, there is also a a good introduction about the history and traditions of Indian cooking, and an overview of the cuisines typical of different regions in India, including the influence of the British and other colonial powers on Indian cuisine. Recipes include favourites like butter chicken- highly recommended!, and various indian breads, chutneys, fried snacks, soups, and an assortment of vegetable/lentil, meat and seafood dishes. One thing I especially liked was the glossary of spices and the recipes for different spice mixes like garam masala, chaat masala and more. The recipes were taken from many different parts of India, such as dosai from the south, and Tandoori from the Punjab. Well illustrated, and overall, a great book.

Fantastic Food
These recipes are simply excellent. There is some effort involved in the preparation of most dishes (lots and lots of dried spices), but the reward is worth it. There are many lovely pictures (oddly some of the dishes photographed cannot be found in the cookbook) and nice preambles. Food for vegetarians (chick peas and eggplant) and meat eaters (creamy chicken curries and spicy Goan pork). Lots of yogurt, coconut milk and fresh green chilis. I have yet to come across a bad dish (one exception, the chapati, although I made it too thick...my fault).

Wendy Has Done Her Homework
St. Francis de Sales' book of spiritual direction is a very practical book for the lay person who wishes to lead a devout life without becoming a religious, and still attend to the necessary business that a lay person's life requires. Wendy quotes each of St. Francis de Sales' sections and then provides her commentary on that section. Her commentary is based on her extensive research on each of the sections; the spirituality of the times concerning the subject, its sources, and how that particular spirituality has changed as of today. She has done her homework and provides invaluable insight into her subject, including, in some cases, her own personal experience with it.

Francis de Sales: Introduction to the Devout Life
I found & read this book in a Church library and immediately decided to buy it. What impressed me most was St. Francis timeless teachings on how we can lead a devout life in whatever state where are in, whether we are rich or poor. He teaches how we can transform the disadvantages of material riches into spiritual blessings and likewise how to transform poverty into spiritual wealth. The teachings gave me a new perspective on how to lead a devout life in this modern world. The book is very contemplative and full of wisdom. You can read it over many times and still be able to learn new things.

Another Great Kids' Book
This is another great STAGE 1 book in the "Let's Read & Find Out" Science Series. The STAGE 1 Series books are written for preschool and kindergarten-age kids (age 3 to 6) about basic science concepts.
This book has 32 pages of nice illustrations (artwork NOT photography) to help the words tell about the developmental stages of frogs.

Some children's books miss the fact of who their target audience is. The "Let's Read & Find Out" books consistently keep subject matter easily understood using age appropriate vocabulary and keep a child interested at the same time.
We recently bought a home science frog growing kit. This book is perfect read along material to show my five year old son what to anticipate in coming weeks.

The books are written for the reading ability of an "average" 3 year old. Older kids may very well get bored with the simple reading in this book. But, they should find the information about frogs fascinating, especially if they are participating in growing some at home or in class! Remember how much fun frog eggs and tadpoles were as a kid?

We have several books in this series and are pleased that our son enjoys them so much.

very good
This book is very appropriate for any young one learning about frogs. My nephew has learned alot from this book about where frogs come from. The pictures are real and not drawings which I like.

What a great mamadrama!
This enchanting educational experience communicates to children of all ages the importance of washing their hands. The rhythmic prose is a delight to read; the illustrations are bright and bold, and questions in bubbles - a "bubblequest" - engage readers throughout the book. "Germs on their fingers" is a first of its kind in heightening multicultural awareness: read the book front to middle, and it's in English; flip it over and read it back to middle, it's in Spanish! By asking the reader to "decide upon which worry your action should take," "Germs" fosters community involvement. With "Germs on their fingers", author Wendy Wakefield Ferrin has made a promising debut on the "Mamadrama" scene. I highly recommend this book to parents, teachers, child care providers, even restaurant owners. It's wonderful!

A new way to look at germs
This book is imaginative and creative. I loved it and I would recommend all parents read this to your child to get them to wash their hands before coming to the dinner table. Just amazing.
