Excellent book for French learners
I have this book, and it is excellent. The lessons are short and concise, but clearly illustrated. Each topic is presented in a manner in which one can go to any lesson, in any order. It has been a well used resource for me in some of the finer points of beginning french grammer. I would recommend this book to anyone serious about studying French.

Teach Yourself Beginner's French Grammar
This book is divided into 99 units that each explain a particular grammar point. Each unit is a page long with related exercises included. It especially appeals to me to be able to pick it up and learn small snippets of French Grammar at a time. This is a great companion for any learners of French.

impressed in Tucson
Well I really didn't know what a diverse place Phoenix is, until I read this book! Now I know that Phoenix is not just an airport hub for our state, it is a great destination in its own right. This is an excellent and complete guide of all the highlights! I recommend it to all Arizona natives.

Like having 'a local' show you around...
...and I needed this book. As an author coming to town for a world-wind 24-hour tour, this guidebook was a gem. Everywhere I needed to go and whatever I needed to have was here. Highly recommended if Phoenix is on your next vacation or even your business trip list.

I think this book is great. It helped me understand binary. I love dez nutz

Great Book!
I discovered this book quite by accident while I was a teaching intern. It knocked me, a middle-aged math-phobe, right off my feet, as suddenly I could understand not only binary numbers, but their relationship to electronic technology. Watson presents the information slowly and sequentially, from lengths of string to Cuisenaire rods, with exercises that manifest the principles as you go along, 'til--lo and behold!--you're writing messages in binary code. While this book is intended for an elementary audience, the only real way you can tell that is from the illustrator's style. The language of the book is simple, direct, and useful at any level. I hope some smart publisher picks this book up and reissues it--it's great.

A Cherished Book
This was the book we used on our first visit to Walt Disney World. I purchased it because I remember listening to innumerable travel reviews by the late Steve Birnbaum on the radio. He was a well-informed and thoroughly dedicated individual with a pleasant personality. We would never have gotten around Walt Disney World without this book. If you have never been to Walt Disney World I recommend that you really get a copy of this book or the most current version of it. If you really enjoy Walt Disney World like we did you may want to hold on to your copy of this book. It is just as much a souvenir as anything else you may purchase on your visit. This book holds fond and cherished memories for my family.

An Informitive Guide
Birnbaum's Walt Disney World 1995 is the only guide for Disney World you will ever need! This book has a lot of valuable information that you won't want to miss if you ever go to Disney World! I haven't gone to Disney World in quite some time and I like to read it just for fun. I have aquired quite a lot of important information in this book. I've been to Disney World four times and I find that everything in this book is true and it is still helpful to me even after I have been there so many times. I hope you decide to buy this book because if you don't you're missing out on a great book and lots of valuable information!

good book!
I really liked this book. It was very good. Bridget is kind of stupid, though. Trying to hide her little sercet flame for Will from her friends. They'll figure it out eventually, I'm sure. But I'm not really sure what I would do in her shoes either.

Very real life.
I actually enjoyed this book. I can relate to Bridget and the story is very real. Although, the College Life books are for teens, I am 20 and I very much enjoyed it. The College Life books are my favorite series and i cannot wait for another one to come out

The Chemy Called Al: A Novel
Published in Paperback by Free Spirit Publishing (1996)
Authors: Wendy Isdell and Pamela Espeland
Amazon base price: $6.95
Average review score:

Fun and Intriguing
I read THE CHEMY CALLED AL and found it very intriguing on many different levels. I found its references to alchemy and to chemistry both accurate and surprisingly allegorical--the protagonist's journey itself is a journey into deep theoretical parts of the universe and the inner self. I purchased the book for my child, but found myself reading it for myself.

This story is extremely educational, at the same time adve..
ntorous. The book being a great classroom utensil can teach wonders about science and math. I recommend this story to children who want to learn!

Clay Homes
I have always enjoyed reading this book to my two-year-old. We both enjoy the illustrations and the simple story that says so much! I know that it will be a favorite for years to come!

Great Book Reinforcing Mission Study to younger children
I teach a missions class for young girls in my church. I found this book, 'Clay Homes', written by Judy Langley and illustrated by Wendy Kikugawa to be simple enough for the children to understand. The large print was easy for my younger students to read, yet the older ones enjoyed reading the story, also. The illustrations by Wendy Kikugawa were colorful and appropriate for the story.

A gourmet delight and kitchen cook friendly!
Cooking Fresh From The Bay Area: The Bay Area's Best Recipes For Eating Local, Organic Produce at Its Seasonal Best is a seminal and ground breaking cookbook and guide bringing together savory recipes from twenty of the San Francisco Bay Area's best chefs. Cooking Fresh From The Bay Area is divided into Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall sections with an introduction on the seasonal crops available, informative commentaries by the contributors, and delicious recipes suited to the season's offerings. From Winter Squash Soup with Sweet Potato Pecan Relish, Asparagus with Balsamic Syrup and Parmigiano-Reggiano, to Spicy Tuna, Caper, Anchovy and Tomato Sandwiches, to Stuffed Caramelized Tomatoes with Vanilla Ice Cream, Apple Tarte Tatin with Cider Sauce, and Smoked Goat Cheddar and White Corn Chowder, Cooking Fresh From The Bay Area is a gourmet delight and kitchen cook friendly!

Informative and Inspiring
This is a great book for people who like to cook, people interested in living healthy, aware lifestyles, and a great resource guide for eating seasonally, locally, and organically. I think there is something like 80 different amazing recipes in the book. My favorites are the deserts: Summer Fruit Shortcake with Lemon Curd & Whipped Cream, Almond Tart with Fresh Berries & fresh Strawberry Ice Cream in Spring, a Winter Pumpkin Cheesecake with a Chocolate Hazelnut Crust, and multiple others. Of course, I wouldn't pass up any of the sumptuous entrees. If someone wanted to make me the Roasted Chicken with Tarragon Peach Sauce or the Smoked Lamb and Garlic Sausage with Roasted Red Pepper Confit & Mustard sauce, I would be happy enough to indulge them.

Beyond the food and recipes, there is a community within this book. It's a must-have for anyone living or travelling in California's Bay Area. One thing is for sure though--you don't have to be anywhere near California to enjoy the book. I highly recommend it.

An on-the-desk-next-to-the-PC kind of book
This is an excellent book. Lots of examples, lots of 'why' and 'how to' sections. It's laid out in a useful way making the book an ongoing reference. There's a great section on resumes as well. The out placement company prepared a resume for me that was more a five page tome. I used the resume chapter in this book and quicly kicked my search into high gear. I only wish I had bought this book sooner.

Most thorough and useful guide for cover letters
This is the best book on the market for writing cover letters. In addition to giving many articulate cover letters to peruse, the book has sections with examples of introductory paragraphs, middle sections, and closing paragraphs. For each of these examples (I think there were more than 40 for the intro), there is a pro and con given, which are really helpful. Also, the book goes over the many different kinds of cover letters that exist, and explains which type is best for each job situation.

Oh, and for those people who are recent graduates or don't have that much experience- there is a whole chapter for you with examples of very strong, well written letters. This is particularly nice because most cover letter examples in other books are strong letters because of the strong candidate- not because the letter is extremely well written. There is also a chapter for the professional with years of experience.

This is the only book you need for writing cover letters! Do not waste your money on other guides that are not as complete.

Curising In Isolated Parts Of The World? Don't Forget It
I have done quite a bit of crusing, fishing and diving but I always wanted to learn how to clean and prepare the fish myself. The book gave some very good insight into this but I didn't think it was detailed enough. The books starts out with the basics of fishing while crusing and then on to every theme possible: 1.) Fishing under power or sail 2.) Gear and Tackle (excellent drawings for knot tying) 3.)Offshore Trolling 4.)Adrift or Anchored 5.)Dingy Techniques 6.) Walking, Wading and Diving 7.) Tools and Nets 8.) Arranging your vessel for fishing 9.) Processing your catch 10.) Medical Considerations for the Crusing Fisher 11.) Getting the most from your new crusing skill 12.) A guide to Edible Fish and Invertebrates ( would be much better in color as I have not seen many fish come up black and white) 13.) Seafood recepies

If you are planning any type of crusing for a longer period of time. This is an absolute must have. A transatlantic or gulf stream crossing can sometimes get boring and knowing these skills take out a lot of the intimidation a lot of us have about fishing and cleaing our own catch.

Fishing Guide for Crusing Sailors
This is an excelent source book for the voyaging sailor,or anyone, who wants to learn how to have better success when fishing the worlds oceans. The authors have cruised extensively aboard their yacht,Ian, and have a background in marine biology. They have a unique perspective into how you can increase your success rate in having fun while catching dinner. Topics cover equipment selection, tips for catching specific species, toxicity issues, and much more. Even if you are not cruising the Seven Seas, you will learn a lot about offshore fishing from this book. I reccomend it.
