WOW!
I looked at this book in a museum shop and I was amazed. I thought it was one of the most beautiful books I've ever looked at.

An amazing talent, Safdie
I recently returned from a trip to Vancouver, British Columbia, and was enchanted by the magnificent Vancouver Public Library, designed by this most brilliant architect. Since I had also been captivated by his work on the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, I just had to have this book filled with gorgeous photographs and fascinating descriptions of Mr. Safdie's work all over the globe. This "album" is a feast for the eyes and will be my treasure for years to come

Once upon a company
I am one of the characters in this book. Joel, Kale, and Lane are my cousins and Wendy is my aunt. The story is depicted well and is very inspiring to others.Like in all other books by Wendy the illustrations are amazing. The company is doing extremely well and there are many more people that are helping out.Read this book and be inspired.

This is a masterfully illustrated story offering encouragement to all children with entrepreneurial interests.
Wendy Anderson Halperin has elevated the picture book to a fine art form. This story is uplifting, practical, and encouraging, but the illustrations steal the show. Every one is a masterpiece. There is no better illustrator out there today than Wendy Anderson Halperin. Every detail is authentic and educational. I could look at this book for hours.

It's trash, but I couldn't put it down!
This is one of those books that you're embarrassed to be seen reading, buying, or checking out of the library. Zsa Zsa has written the most egotistical book I've ever read! Some of it is SO hard to believe, such as the little chapter about the priest who wanted to break his vows for one night of passion with Ms. Gabor (to make it even more incredible, her husband allegedly encouraged her to accept, telling her that it was his fantasy to see her with a priest). But this book was great entertainment, like a saucy bit out of the National Enquirer. Despite the fact that it may have lowered my IQ a few points, it was worth the hours it took to read it. Great pictures, too, of the young Zsa Zsa, who was a great beauty back in the days.

A true page turner, one you pick it up, can't put it down.
In this book, Zsa Zsa gets honest about her views on life, and details that sum total of her life experiences. The book is written to a level of vivid detail which will prove to hold a reader's interest. Zsa Zsa details, her marriages, her arrest, and many others "events" that we get to know the true woman who is a legend. Excellent reading. A book of reality that borders on fantasy.

Illustrating the Lyrics.
This small book contains the lyrics for "Out There" from Disney's THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME accompanied by illustrations and artwork from the film. Some of the pictures are spectacular. Even though I hated what Disney did to the story of Quasimodo and company, I did enjoy the movie and I love the music from the film. "Out There" is one of my favorite two songs from that movie and I am glad to own a copy of this small book. This is a great present for any fan of Disney's HUNCHBACK, any Disney freak, or a book to read to children.

Stephen are you there?
I believe that I was Stephen's teacher when he was 14. I am not sure if "This Property is condemned" means anything to him..but would certainly like to touch base with him again. carole (brown) nelson cnelson@pyramax.com

The picture me books series is a great collection!
A very unique approach to narrating Golidlock's stories to your children. Not only do your children envision themselves as the main character (in this case, Goldilocks), but also the lesson or main idea is relayed direct to the point -- for young readers with simple minds. Instead of the original manner of relating Goldilock's story, it was revised to suit the young readers' comprehension level, thereby not missing the main points---to be respectful & polite towards others & their properties in order to be liked & to be treated the same.

Awsome
This book is a great idea. Place your favorite childs picture in the covers and you'll be a favorite. Your child is Goldilocks on every page. The theme is cute and enjoyable. Every child would love it. I wish I had one when I was a youngster.

Practical and purposeful.
I used this book with 2nd grade students. The book brought so many more ideas and areas into play. This book was the focus of our entire quilting unit. Many reproducables and hands on activities. The paper plate punch was a big hit.

A great book with lots of easy to use exercises!
The author has written this book WITH kids as well as for kids. She has given us lots of tools to use and to copy that adapt to many situations. I'm writing a program for 200 kids participating in a Vacation Bible School "Prayer Quilt Ministry" that will cover designing quilts and using quilt projects for kids 3-12 and the ideas are all here!

Excellent reference tool
I really like this book! I bought the 4th edition (1956) at a used book store and was anxious to get the latest version. I purchased it in 2001 when it came out, and have been very pleased with it. I would recommend this book to anyone involved in electronics.

Best electrical engineering reference ever published
This is hands down the best reference book ever published for electrical/electronics/communications engineers. There is an abundance of articles on virtually any topic you can think of. This reference book is not written for the mathematical engineer who needs reference books loaded with tables and equations. This is a reference book for the rest of us engineers who need to learn the basics of a particular technology without having to re-learn engineering mathematics. This book is an absolute must for every electrical engineer. Once you get the book, you'll wonder how you ever managed without it

The Secret Letters of Marilyn Monroe and Jacqueline Kennedy: A Novel
Published in Hardcover by Thorndike Pr (Largeprint) (2003)
Author: Wendy Leigh
Amazon base price: $28.95
Average review score:

A Thumping Good Read!
Wendy Leigh has accomplished a truly amazing feat with her most recent book! As a biographer, what better subjects could she find? And, how better could she have revealed the secret nature of two of the most mysterious women in American popular culture?

What could have been a strange fantasy became a living experience for me as I read the letters between Marilyn and Jackie. I kept reminding myself that these letters - though historically and accurately encapsulated in time - were in fact, a work of fiction.

The relationship between Jackie and Marilyn that develops in the course of the book via the age-old epistolary genre is highly plausible - if alarming to consider - and there is no doubt that the evolution of such a relationship could truly have occurred.

Both women come across as needing something from the other that no-one else could provide, and though we know from history that both women were polarities in background, appearance and status, their meeting place was in the relationship bound up with John Kennedy.

This book is a page-turner, it is impossible to put it down because the authenticity of the writing, and the dramatis personae are so realistic, that I "forgot" that this was a work of fiction.

However, by the end of the book, fiction becomes so enmeshed with facts that one is completely bound up in the last few pages, and left thinking - as usual - "what really did happen"?

The emotional denoument is critical to the book - it simply must be read in sequence. Chilling, sad and possibly too too true. . .one is simply compelled to read on. And, "hurrah" to Ms. Leigh for her bravery and creativity to have brought such challenging subjects together in this well researched and brilliantly written book.

A great romantic read
Bought the book in New York before flying back to England this weekend, and read it non-stop during the flight. The moment I finished it, I started it all over again. Because, although it is an extremely easy read, the book - which tells the story of Marilyn's love affair with Jack Kennedy through her letters to Jackie Kennedy - works on so many different levels. Apart from the fact that you really feel that you are reading a true correspondence, this book gives more insight into Marilyn and Jackie than any biography of either of them I've ever read. The letters change from being letters between strangers, to letters between friends, and then, rivals. When I finished the book, I felt as if I had been in another world, another time, and had in the hearts and minds of both Marilyn and Jackie. Before I read the book, as someone who admires Jackie, I was afraid it might be disrespectful of her. But that is not the case. The letters reflect everything I've read about her in biographies - and much more. And made me care about her more than ever. The ending of the book made me cry - it seemed so real, so true, so very sad - and went to the heart of Marilyn and Jackie. As I said before, I am reading it again and can't recommend it enough. Reading The Secret Letters is as addictive as eating Godiva chocolate. Enjoy.
