Voice Dialogue Facilitation Made Easy!
This 312-page manual is the definitive reference book on the how-to of being an effective voice dialogue facilitator, whether beginner or advanced. Author Miriam Dyak has been a senior trainer for Drs. Hal and Sidra Stone, the originators of this body of work, since 1983. The book leads the reader step-by-step through each important element of the facilitation process. It is thorough without being complicated and effortless to digest. The reader is drawn into participation by the numerous sample sessions along with invitations to assume the facilitator's role and decide on the best course of action. Drawings, diagrams, and interesting design lay-out all contribute to greater ease and fullness of comprehension.

Highly recommend!
I am thankful to Miriam Dyak for producing such a complete reference guide for Voice Dialogue facilitation. As I study and practice this work, this book continues to be an invaluable resource. The information on energetics is especially insightful. Even if you are an experienced facilitator, this guide will illuminate new and creative ways of approaching the work.

A Must for Voice Dialogue Facilitators!
As teachers and innovators, we have always hoped that the people who work with us will understand the work and grasp the very basics of what it is that we are trying to present to the world. Miriam Dyak has done just that in her brilliant and marvelously readable new book, The Voice Dialogue Facilitator's Handbook. In this, and its accompanying Voice Dialogue Facilitator's Teaching Kit, she presents a detailed, step by step picture of how to do Voice Dialogue and extremely valuable suggestions about what you can do to become a truly top-notch facilitator.

Over the years there have been many changes in our approach to working with selves using Voice Dialogue. First of all, we have increased our emphasis upon the energetic components of the work with selves. Second, and perhaps even more important, we have emphasized the use of Voice Dialogue not only to explore the selves, their history, and their impact upon the way we live our lives, but to use it quite deliberately to create an Aware Ego.

The new Voice Dialogue Facilitator's Handbook outlines the basics of Voice Dialogue and provides clear guidance on our most recent approaches to the work. Miriam has been active in the Voice Dialogue community since 1983, is a senior Voice Dialogue teacher, and is an author in her own right. She has served on staff with us at "Summer Kamp" and for our Level II and Level III trainings at Delos. While writing The Voice Dialogue Facilitator's Handbook, Miriam spent three years attending our training intensives as both staff and observer to gather and organize the most up to date information on this body of work. She listened to our presentations, watched us conducting sessions, watched our very best facilitators at work, and watched novices as they began their very first facilitations. She taught facilitation to workshop participants at all levels of expertise and carefully observed what was needed to help them to do their very best.

A tremendous amount of material in the form of notes and audiocassette tapes was generated in this way. This information covered both the theoretical and practical aspects of the work. To add to all of this, Miriam also interviewed other senior teachers and facilitators, soliciting input based upon their expertise. She also brings her own extensive experience as a very gifted and insightful facilitator to the understanding of Voice Dialogue. All of this information is combined into a remarkable handbook that truly invites the reader to explore Voice Dialogue facilitation through its clarity of presentation and simplicity of language.

So we say to you, if you are - or wish to be - a Voice Dialogue facilitator, we urge you to buy, enjoy, and use this incredibly valuable tool. It is currently the definitive "how to" work on Voice Dialogue facilitation.

One People, Two Deserts
Excerpts from a longer review by Judith Fein in HADASSAH Magazine August/September 2000: The book is sprinkled with Spanish, Hebrew, Ladino, and Yiddish. It is puctuated with love, questioning, humility, bravado, honesty, longing and anger.... At first the words seem tender and nostalgic and clever, but they begin to gain power as the diverse voices proliferate.... Of all the poems in the book, the Converso section elicits the most excitement. "I think this is because the phenomenon works both historically and metaphorically," Logghe says. "I ask,'What in your life have you kept hidden?' We all have hidden aspects of ourselves. The book is a vehicle for opening up dialoge with Jewsand non-Jews so we should find some common ground and hearts." Read the whole two page review and you will know why this book is a treasure to share.

Today's Librarian Review
In this diverse and masterly compilation, New Mexican Jewishpoets explore their Judaic identities as set against a backdrop ofarroyos, chili plants, and arid turquoise skies. Many of the poets are relatively recent transplants from elsewhere in the country, while a few have long made their homes in the Land of Enchantment. One of the Spanish-writing contributors is descended from the first Jews to arrive in New Mexico, fleeing persecution from the Spanish Inquisition in 1598. The theme of exile and searching permeates many of the works, with several poems inspired by the painful past-the Holocaust, the Inquisition. Other writers probe the wonder and strangeness of newly embracing their faith in this unlikely land. There are also numerous reflections on ancestors, family and religious holidays-one poem describes casting bread into the Rio Grande on Rosh Hashanah morning. Libraries serving communities with sizeable Jewish populations should consider this anthology a must purchase. Also recommended anywhere where interest is high in Western or Jewish culture, or just fine poetry.

Regents Debunked...
I'm going to have to agree with the above review, the only thing I can add is the fact that Barron's not only makes review books for Physics, but for many other subjects as well. I think it would be foolish not(italics) to buy these for your classes.

As the year progresses, you look up questions that pertain to where your class is. I found that my teachers often took questions for their tests and quizzes and quests right from old regents's themselves, which is what these books contain(not to mention the answers hint hint). At least until they found out that more people were buying these things and had to change their tests!(darn!).

Many old practice Regents exams included, answers explained. Need I say more?

National Board Certified Physics Teacher Loves It
This book is an outstanding study tool for students enrolled in college preparatory physics courses or AP Physics B courses. I have found it an EXTREMELY valuable starting point for my own quizzes and tests. The questions seem to be the perfect balance between conceptual and computational assessments. I use the books in this series as the ideal curricular standard for the courses described above. Highest praise for the authors.

A Page-Turner and Educational Too
A rip-roaring good mystery set in the mid-nineteenth century. Gives a good picture of life then, a fair treatment of native Americans, and an eye-opening look at some of the absurd ways women were disrespected in those times.

This is NOT a book written for juveniles or young adults, but anyone in those age groups could read and enjoy it. I would highly recommend it for high school students as an adjunct to an American History course. They might also want to read Monfredo's other Glynis Tryon novels and Kenneth Roberts' "Rasbble in Arms", "Arundel," and others.

The best Glynis Tryon book yet!
This one took a little longer to get into than the first two, but it turned out to be the best of the series so far. Monfredo has mastered the art of foreshadowing without giving away the whole story, and is skilled at throwing in a red herring or two, as well. Her treatment of the tensions between Native Americans serves to illuminate the complexity of Glynis' and Jacques' friendship, and imparts some interesting historical context as well. This is a book that's worth reading again and again.

Blueprint for Success!
I, too, am the proud owner of a very dog-eared copy of "Blueprint for Marketing". When I was new to the A/E/C industry a friend recommended that I read this book. After returning a borrowed library copy, I immediately bought a new copy of my own and have referenced it innumerable times since then. Recently I had the pleasure of meeting the author, Susan Frost, and I was thrilled to be able to tell her how much use we'd gotten out of her book. It has helped me to teach others in my firm about some of the tenants of marketing services to our industry. We have also been able to adapt her practical advice to develop successful solutions for our business development strategies and specific marketing issues.

Easy to digest, practical and specific to our industry, I'm so glad I found this book. I'd highly recommend it.

Blueprint for Marketing
I own a small business. We have used this book so much it is dogearred! It is simple, easy to follow and gives some excellent tips on marketing a small business! It outlines how to put a marketing plan together. I have not found a better book or approach to preparing a marketing plan! It gave us a lot of sources and paths to take in order to market our business! I recommend highly to someone just starting out or wanting to readjust your approach to marketing to todays marketplace! It applies to any business and gives great general examples and some really fresh information!

Complete Idiot's Guide to Child Safety
Parents receive so much information about possible dangers to their children and what they can do to protect them that they find it difficult to know where to draw the line. What safety measures should they insist their child and other caregivers observe? Which ones are less important? This book helps them focus on what is most important. As manager of Texas Children's Center for Childhood Injury Prevention and the local Safe Kids coordinator, I hear many stories from parents about what problems might have been prevented if they had only known . . . Since we can expect each year for one child in four to be injured badly enough to need medical care, this is a most needed reference for parents.

Keep Your Kids Safe!
Keeping kids safe sounds scary, but this book offers some simple solutions. The authors not only educate readers about safety at home and school, in the car and on the bike, they also tackle safety and sports, pools, and even farms.

Did you know that falls from shopping carts are a major reason why kids visit emergency rooms? The authors explain how to keep your kid secure in the cart. Do you when your child is old enough to cross the street alone? The answer surprised me. Do you when your child is mature enough to be home alone? They offer a quiz to help you decide when your child -- and you -- are ready for that big step.

I recommend this book for anyone who watches kids between infancy and age 14. After all, keeping our kids safe and secure is just as important as letting them know they are loved.

Confessions of a Rat Fink: The Life and Times of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth

Confessions of a Rat Fink
My wife hates this book, but I absolutely love it. I grew up with the "Rat Fink" and reading this book was like reliving my younger days. Big Daddy tells his secrets about the Rat Fink cartoons and the hot rods that he made. I bought my copy from the Big Daddy himself and he autographed it for my son. My son did not even have a clue about a "Rat Fink" was but he wanted to buy one of the t-shirts. He thought they were "awesome". For you old timers like me, thats "groovy".

Confessions Of A Rat Fink The Life And Times Of Ed Roth
Big Daddy Roth was the maestro of hot rod car art who subverted the values of a whole generation of youngsters now just coming into power. The art and imagery in this book reflects a mindless rebelliouness that was inspiring to some and vulgar and threatening others. This book highlights his whole persona in brilliant fashion. Without doubt this book is the coolest with a capital K!

Beautifully Informative- Alive with facts of interest
This is far more than it seems by this Amazon.com listing, I feel that it is mis-classed as a children's book and should be considered by all ages. The wealth of information about the way of life during the days of Jesus brings the whole Bible alive!! Excellent family reading!

Surprisingly comprehensive
When I received this book in the mail, I was initially disappointed. I had ordered it before it was in print, so there was no information about the book on Amazon.com. I had hoped for a thick volume, and instead I received a slender picture book.

To my surprise, the book is quite comprehensive. Most of my daily life books about Biblical times get so caught up in the history of the Jews and the politics of the region that they neglect the real daily life of the people. This book ignores the politics and instead concentrates on the stuff you buy a book like this to learn.

Instead of just showing pictures of the coins of the time, for example, this book gives a chart showing what a shekel would buy. Instead of going into the history of why people made their pilgrimages to Jerusalem, the writer instead focused on what happened when they got there. These things are invaluable from a writer's standpoint, because when you're writing a book from the perspective of someone who lived in a particular time, the protagonist doesn't care about the history of his actions. All he cares about is what he's doing.

If you're looking for a book that doesn't explain why but is keenly focused on the what and how, this is the book for you. I own seven or eight books of daily life in Biblical times, and this is one of two I'll actually use in my writing.
