Not the best-but still fantastic1
This is a very good Mandie Book, but I thought it lacked suspense. In vol. 19 Mandie, Celia, and Jonathen are traveling through Europe in 1901 with Grandmother Taft and Senator Morton. They have reached Belgium, and Grandmother makes it obvious that she will not tolerate any more adventures. But, as all fans know, that won't happen. Mandie takes a walk to what she thinks is an abandoned boat. Little does she know someone lives there. This leads to a chain of events ending with a surprising discovery. I thought this Mandie adventure was a little less suspensful than most, but I ended up staying awake 'till Midnight to see what happened.

Mandie leads her friends on another adventure in Antwerp.
Mandie is traveling on to Antwerp with Celia Hamilton, Jonathan Guyer,Grandmother Taft, Senator Morton, and Uncle Ned. While she and her friends are walking, they find what looks like an abondoned boat. From then on Mandie leads her friends on an adventure watching a man cry inside the boat and chasing after a thief. Any person who likes mysteries or stories that take place at the turn of the century, will enjoy this book and the other Mandie books. She learns, once again, that she needs to forgive no matter how much it hurts. A message that needs to get across to every person.

GREAT BOOK
I love reading the Mandie books. They are my favorit. If you have any kids read it to them. They will love all the mysteries.

A darn good Mandie Mystery
I'm 14, and have been reading the Mandie Books since I was 11 or 12. This Mandie mystery finds Mandie back at school after a short trip back to her home town. Since Grandmother Taft bought the school, it has been undergoing serious renovation. They are installing electric lights and heat, and have caused several huge holes all over. The actual mystery doesn't pick up until about half way throught the book, but it is a very unpredictable one! Mandie and Celia solve it, and it is a very suspensful process! I was reading this book the other night, and kept telling myself "Just one more chapter and I'll go to bed.." Well, I ended up staying up past 2 finishing it, so that tells you how good this mystery is.

Great!!
I loved this book, the only problem is that there hasn't been any sequels!!! I read this book when it was first published (several years ago I can tell you!) and I loved it! I've been looking for these last years for the sequels and I can't find em! (I have the 2nd one) But this is a great read.

LIly - The Secret Money
I to have read the first two Lily Adventures books and believe that they are even better then the Mandie series. I really enjoyed them and am really disappointed that I can't find the next few books in the series, for the first two left you hanging off a very high cliff! Please if you read this Lois Leppard, please finish the end of the mystery, I would really like to know how it ends.

This book is so good!
This book is a very good book. I would recomend it to everybody. The only problem is it is hard to find the 3rd and 4th book

Color and Shapes?Los Colores Y Las Figuras
I want to continue learning the Spanish language and found that this children's book helped me and my family alot. I was intimidated by the language, and by starting at this basic level, it opened a new door for me to want to build upon and continue to learn more. By getting down the fundamentals, I am able to go on to more things. My kids are constantly speaking the words out loud and are actually teaching each other and myself Spanish. I am glad that there are books out there like this that I can use, no matter how young the age group, and actually learn.

Great foundations book
I recently became interested in toddler and primary age children's books because I am a grandmother. Looking for starter books, it was great to discover this title, and the companion English-Spanish Foundations co-volumes. My grandkids enjoyed the color and layout and definitely learned!

Colors and Shapes
Several members of my family have small children who are just learning to read. I was looking for an english/spanish book that would be fun for them to go through, but would also present information in an easy and understandable way for them. This book was just what I was looking for. If anyone is looking for a great educational gift for little kids be sure to take a look at this!

PANZERS IN COLOR
I've read many books about the panzers in WWII. They have many useful information inside them. But they all had old black&white photos and some of them were really bad. But this book is great. It doesn't have so many information, the written things are known by many WWII fans. But what makes this book a 5 star treasure is the pictures. Who doesn't want to see Tigers, Panthers, King Tigers, Jagdpanthers and many more in colorful high quality pictures. The photos are taken from museums and collectors all around the world. When you are looking at the pictures you'll feel the real power of the Panther's 75mm gun and smell its gasoline and hear the roaring engine.

Gem of a Book
German Tanks of World War II in Color is not an exhaustive study nor does it try to be. However, weighing in at only 96 pages, it contains a surprising amount of information. The book is organized into four chapters: light tanks, medium tanks, heavy tanks and support vehicles. All of the main panzers and armored fighting vehicles are discussed as well as their variants. The text is readable and informative. Text boxes add depth to the book by discussing tank anatomy, panzer division anatomy, weapon definitions, and color schemes. What truly makes this book unique are the color photographs of restored vehicles from museums and private collections around the world. The photo on the front cover is indicative of the eye-candy that awaits you inside. Recommended!

A great value.
This book packs a lot of information into its 96 pages. It's possible to find books on German Armor that have more detail, but not at this price. Brief but useful development histories are complemented by scores of high quality color photographs. Each of the Panzer series (I through VI) is featured, including most of the important variants (Tank destroyers and self-propelled artillery pieces). There is even a chapter on amored cars, halftracks, and reconnaissance vehicles. The text is good, but it is the photographs that set this book apart. Vintage snaps are coupled with shots of restored vehicles from museums and private collections around the world. I would recommend this book to modelers and history buffs alike.

Mandie fans, this one will blow your mind!
Hi! My name is Virginia Sulpy and I'm 14 years old. And I mean it when I say this book is PHAT. This is definately one of the best books yet in the super series Mandie. The mystery Mandie gets herself into this time takes her places! She's in NYC, and she and her friend Jonathan find one of the servants tied up. They chase the two culprits, who consist of a Spanish, beret wearing man and a little girl who has been bugging Jonathan for his dog he adopted. Mandie and her friend chase the man over dangerous elevated train tracks, and into a skeezy apartment house. They get locked on the roof, and it starts to snow. And Mandie has such a bad cold, that when they finally get out, she faints! The descriptions in this book are incredible. You can feel Mandie's misery! Not only that, but the mystery is a sophisticated one that will keep you guessing. Don't let the up to "age 12" review stop you- this, and all of the other Mandie series, will be, in my opinion, even better if you're older. A truly great book for all ages! Ms. Leppard, do the world a favor and write more of these soon! We all want more! Thanks!

MANDIE IS THE BEST...
Okay mandie is totally cool I always have too get the new book in our school library before anyone does i have all her books and waiting for anothing exciting mystery can't wait too see what the next one is about....

A Fantastic Mandie Book!
This was one of the best Mandie books. I liked it. It made Mandie seem human. Sometimes she seems perfect, and sometimes she seems babyish. In this book, Mandie's little brother has just been born and she is jealous of him. She thinks he cries too much, and he takes too much of her Mother's time (attention). Mandie runs away to live with her Cherokee kinpeople, thinking it will solve her problems. It doesn't, of course. They won't let her stay. She learns a valuble lesson, and learns to love her little brother. This seems babyish, but you learn a good lesson about jealousy. I like this book very much and at the end Mandie gets to name her little brother! What she names him, I won't tell!...

Mandie is really getting annoyed now!
Mandie is sick and tired of her new baby brother. He cries all the time and she feels like no one loves her any more. She ends running away, but in the end learns her lesson. All the Mandie books are very good. I'm 14 but that does not stop me from reading them. Lois, please keep writing them and never stop, even if you have to write about Mandie's daughter or even her grandmother as a little girl.

Outstanding Writing
This Mandie book was outstanding. I haven't read the Mandie Series in a couple of years and it was a great book for me to pick up and read quickly over the Christmas holiday. It is about Mrs. Taft, Senator Morton, Celia, Jonathan, Uncle Ned and of course Mandie and Snowball. They are invited to the Thaler's Chalet in Switzerland during their tour of Europe. When they get their they discover the Thaler's are not at the house at the time. Mandie discovers that their is a mystery behind the house. They are all settled in the house when suddenly strange visitors arrive. This brings up another mystery. They have a few mysteries they have to solve : Who are the strange visitors? Where is the entrance to the mysterious tower? Where is the strange singing coming from? and Who was walking through the halls of the chalet at the late late hours of the night?

Mandie and her mysteries
This book is full of mystery and suspense. I would reccomend this book to anyone. It is one of the best Mandie books I have read. Here is a little sneak preview to what it is about:

When Mandie, Celia, Jonathan, Mrs. Taft, and Senator Morton go on to Sweden during their tour of Europe, they hear singing in the night. In the middle of the groups visit, a very mysterious couple shows up and insist on staying in the Chalet. They also insist on always being by themselves. Will Mandie and her friends solve the mystery of the shy couple and the singing? Find out in Mandie and the Singing Chalet!

One of the best Mandie Books published!
A book that lives up to the Mandie name! In Vol. 17, Mandie is still traveling through Europe with Grandmother Taft, Senator Morton, Celia & Jonathan. They are in Switzerland, staying at a friends ancient chalet. The three have a lot of spare time, the chalet is HUGE, and Uncle Ned isn't there yet. You know what that means. Mystery. There is a mysterious couple staying there who seem intent on solving the mystery before Mandie and her friends. What mystery? Well, there is talk in town about the chalet being haunted. There is mysterious singing heard nearly every night. Mandie thinks it is coming from a room they can't find a door to. Mandie decides the only way in is by climbing onto the roof, and through a window... Celia to the rescue! I don't want to give away the story, but the Strange Lady shows up again.

This is an amazing book with mandie's usual fun mysteries
Mandie and her best friend are going up to visit their friend Jonathan in New York. Of course Mandie finds a mystery and they get invloved in many mysterious things. Mandie and Jonathan get trapped on a roof, Mandie is sick, they're late for dinner and they see snowball(mandies cat) below about to fall and die! What will they do? read it and find out!

EXCITING AND FUN
Mandie is going home for christmas holidays and is very excited. But she has one problem or make it two. She needs to talk to her grandmother before the Guyers come, so she won't be mad when they just show up. Mandie doesn't know what's wrong with Mrs. Taft and Mr. Guyer. There's also Joe. She hasn't told him that Jonathan is coming. Will he get mad at her, because the boys haven't exactly gotten along around Mandie?

Then one night before everyone arrives a package for Mandie comes. It's just a "mess" of holly, dirt and ribbins. Joe is sorry that he suggests it is a treasure map because then Joe, Jonathan, Polly and Mandie go on treasure hunts. Who sent Mandie the present. Read to find out the funny ending, how the boys get along with the fact that they're not the only boys in Mandie's life and how Mrs. Taft reacts with the Guyers arrival.

I just love Mandie books. I can read more than one in a day! I can't wait until "Mandie and the night thief" comes out. Are there any others after that one? I want to read how Mandie's life wraps up when she is older. Will she really marry Joe or maybe Tommy?

This Book is really Good!
this book was good, no really good. Anyways.. mandie gets all frustrated thinking that everyone will be mad at her for inviting the guyers over for christmas. Mandie still doesn't know why grandmother doesn't like mr. guyer or if joe and jonathan will try to out-do each other. But she's in for a big surprise when someone leaves a present on the door step that is nothing but holy and dirt but is it a treasure map?? i really enjoyed this book and thought it was really nice of jonathan to do what he did knowing how much mandie likes mysteries

Good starter
My son enjoys this book often. It is a great complimenyt to the authors alphabet book too! My son is hispanic/caucasian and this is a book that he can read with either his dad, myself or any member of the entire extended family without any difficulty. Which is great since reading is one of his favorite activities.

My Family andI?Mi Familia Y Yo
This is another book that I enjoyed by this author. My children have asked me to continue to purchase this books and they read them all the time. I see the joy and excitement on their faces as they say different words in Spanish and actually know the meaning. I feel that it is important for the and myself to learn a second language, and books like these have been able to serve as a base for my entire family. It's easy to read and grasp, and a good reference to look at when necessary. Keep up the great work Gladys and I'll keep reading your books. Learning is a continuous process and now it's become really fun!

Great children's book
This is a book that any small child can love and the fact that it teaches as it entertains is a great tribute to the skill and the heart of the author. Sturdy construction, a size made for "little hands" and bright colors have made it a favorite of my kids. We know several Spanish-speaking families in our church--and this book will help as kids talk to kids, I think.
