No other Westie book needed if you have this one............
I purchased the earlier edition of this book many years ago to
use as a guide book in our kennel. We here at Kemperland Kennel use it often. It is underlined and marked and used. There are even Betadine stains on it from being close at hand when we were dealing with an emergency. It has helped us through thick and thin of Westie grooming, health, breeding, puppy raising, etc.

When the author came out with an updated book in 2001, I bought it as well because I didn't want to miss out on ANY of her knowledge and expertise that she had gleaned from working more years with this wonderful breed of dog than I have had.
We recommend this book to all of our Westie clients. It will answer your questions and upgrade your knowledge like no other
book on them I have found. It, like the Westie, is the "BEST OF THE BEST".

All aspects of this charming and popular canine breed
In Westies From Head To Tail, Ruth Faherty draws upon her considerable experience and expertise as a former Westie breeder and exhibitor to present a detailed, informative, comprehensive, and descriptive introduction to all aspects of this charming and popular canine breed. Each "reader friendly" chapter is profusely illustrated with black-and-white photography and illustrations. Westies From Head To Tail is essential and rewarding reading for anyone who owns, or is contemplating owning a Westie.

Westie from Head to Tail
I purchased this book 18 years ago when I had my first Westie. Out of all the Westie books I have this book is by far the most informational for new owners as well as seasoned Westie owners. I just got a new Westie puppie this January and went to get my book, which unfortunately was falling apart from overuse. Luckily I found the book on the secondary market. I am anxiously awaiting the updated version coming out this fall. The book is a true winner and to be enjoy by all Westie enthusiasts!!

windows98 simplified
I'm in my 50's and never even looked at a computer till my sons got me one and was I ever scared of it but with this book everything just fell in to place for me it's the greatest book there is I tried others but they just made things worse for me.
So if you are new at this and have trouble understanding these big word detail books get this one you'll love it.

Impressed
I'm quite impressed and satisfied with this book and with the entire Simplified series. This book presents an excellent introduction to and overview of Microsoft Windows 98. It is very accessible to beginners and provides useful information for more experienced users. For visual learners (like myself), the illustrations are a great help. Related books in the series include More Windows 98, Windows 2000 Professional, and Windows Me. Windows 2000 Professional is basically the upgrade from Windows NT - mostly for businesses. Windows Me (for millennium edition) is the upgrade from Windows 98 - it's mostly for home use.

It's challenging to take a complex subject and express it simply, clearly, concisely, and comprehensively. This book meets the challenge.

Other books in the Simplified series are listed on Amazon.com under the author name Ruth Maran. A similar series (which I also enjoy very much) by the same author is the Teach Yourself Visually series.

For further study, I recommend Course Technology: the Shelly Cashman Series; the New Perspectives Series; and the Illustrated Series (I particularly like the Shelly Cashman Series). And, of course, there is Microsoft Press: I like the Step by Step Series and the Running Series.

These books are all available on Amazon.com.

Good for Seniors
I bought this book for my mother, who is 76 and very computer-phobic. Having this book helps her believe she actually CAN use the computer!

Unique, Simple . . . . Perfect.
This book is amazing. I have spent countless hours perusing photography books-trying to capture what makes a photograph something extraordinary - and Mark definitely has found it. It's everything from the soft tones of his images - to his unique simple view of the world. I really enjoy this collection of images - I will treasure them for years to come!

Utterly exquisite
When I saw a few images from this astonishing collection published in View Camera magazine, I was bowled over by them and ran out to buy a copy of the book and boy, am I glad I did.

Citret's photographs are inspirational, not only because of the sheer quality of the images and the skill with which they have been printed, but because so many of them are of such ordinary things which become beautiful in the eye of the photographer. Check out the photograph of a hotel shower room, or the strange bare concrete interior that's used as a cover image. What they say, to me at least, is that I should keep my eyes open to the ordinary, because almost anything can make a good photograph but you have to see it first.

Unique perspectives from a unique and talented individual.
Each photograph in this volume is a gift. From intricate architectural patterns to visions he persuades from the mists, Mark Citret is an artist in every sense of the word.

the best advise i could ever get
Hi,
I came across this book thrice and finally decided to buy it... but again God's hand worked fast. My Pastor's wife offered to lend it to me. The book has been a blessing to me in the line of praying for a Spouse. I am in the 'Indian-single-woman-in-late-20's' Group and has been under tremendous pressure. God has been wonderful and faithful leading me to this book and changing my entire perspective. I have learnt to pray for infants so that they can marry a person that God has kept in store for them... and for all my single friends both with and not with the Lord so that they marry a person who is chosen for them by the Lord.... Thanking the Lord for my spouse who is already there for me at the altar! Amen

A Must Have for Christians Looking For A Spouse
I was praying for a spouse for a long time. By suggestion of a Christian mentor, I got a copy of "Spirit Filled Believer's Handbook," also by Derek prince. I went to Amazon to see if he had anything else availible. Oddly enough, there were several titles, including this one. Not long later, I ordered a copy off of the internet. I'm certainly glad I did, too.

This book basically uses the Bible and lays down a foundation for the do's and dont's of finding a Godly spouse. In addition to using the Bible, Derek tells of how he met Lydia, his first wife. She died many years after they were married. Then, a few years after that, he met Ruth, his current wife. The 2 chapters on his wives and how it all happened really helped me understand the rest of the book.

But the best part of the book are the 2 chapters by his current wife, Ruth. Even though she only wrote 2 chapters, they are the longest chapters in the whole book. She tells what to do and what not to do in terms of looking for a spouse. While Derek's chapters were great, hers were different. Ruth tells of a lot of mistakes she made when she was married previously to Derek. Her chapters will help Christians avoid the pitfalls that she went through while she was seeking a spouse and her eventual and tragic first marriage.

Oh, I'm still praying for a spouse. However, this book has changed my prayers on the matter and what I should and shouldn't do on my end of things. It was truly an eye-opener. This book should be read by all Christians seeking a spouse and also by Pastors, deacons, elders, lay leaders, and people in the Christian counseling field. Believe me, it'll change the way you see courtship and marriage.

God is a Match Maker-Derek Prince
This book is great. It tells the truth about what God has in store for those who wait on his best for a mate. Why He hasn't sent the one you're looking for yet and how to be at peace and what to do until He does sent them.

Her great story
I was already a huge fan of Rebecca Lobo before reading this book. 'The Home Team' gives you a look into the lives of Rebecca and Ruthann Lobo. It's such a real look at how their lives truly are and how much they love each other. After reading this book I was blown away by the courage both of these amazing women have shown in thier lives.

How I feel about the book and why
I really love this book! I did not want to put it down. A couple of reasons I love the book is because now I know she was a normal child once and she did'nt always play basketball. I also liked it because her mom talked about her life. Now I know they had problems just like any other family does.

A moving story
This book is a must read for all WNBA fans. Rebecca Lobo's life is revealed in many aspects, that of her point of view and her mother. It talks about many issues such as Ruthanne's struggle with breast cancer and how the family dealt with it. As a 15 year old girl, reading is not one of my favorite pastimes. When I heard of a book about my idol Rebecca Lobo, I decided maybe I should give reading a try. I finished the story in a total of two days and found myself waking up in the middle of the night wanting to know what was going to happen next. It is an extremely moving book in which I fould that it was very easy to relate to. As a basketball player, some of Rebecca Lobo's theories such as playing basketball to relive stress and cope with problems I use also. It gave a new perspective to why I am two different people a hustler and leader on the court and a shy and proscinator off of it. Athlete or not, this book will get you moving. It will leave the message in your heard that anything is possible and it will help you to get out and reach that goal that you have been striving for.

A Delightful Surprise
My 20 month old son has a very eclectic taste in the books he enjoys. I was surprised when he pulled this off of his book shelf amidst many other books. It is now the favorite book and we read it over and over and over again. The text is simple; the illustrations are realistic yet warm; and, we never grow tired of discussing the illustrations on each page. I think he enjoys it because of the above reasons, and because it is predictable, yet the "surprise" ending never becomes boring. This book is truly a "find."

adorable story of love between mother and daughter
A lovely story of a toddler girl hiding under a blanket and playing a game of "what is under the blanket"? Mother makes many guesses as to what it can be and each response is "I don't need (the item)". At the end the girl pops out and declares the lump was "me" and then mother states that is just what she needed. This is very cute and shows love and typical interaction between a loving mother and adoring daughter. I have the board book version and I am sure it will get much repeated use. The theme of love between parent and child is not seen often enough in children's books and I am glad to see it in this book. Often books focus on the child, the child's activities, or objects (cars, trains, toys, etc.) rather than focusing on the expression and communication of love between parent and child.

A touching portrait of mother and child
One morning a mother sees a strange bundle under the blankets on her bed. As she wonders aloud what it might be--a monkey? A bundle of carrots? Or Humpty-Dumpty?--the bundle proclaims "No, no, no, no, NO!" until finally it reveals itself: "It's ME!" cries the tousle-headed little toddler.

If you're a baby boomer, you might remember this book from your childhood. It was originally published in 1951 under the title "The Bundle Book." Here it is updated with a new title and brand new illustrations.

Purists, who flinch every time they see remakes of Disney classics like "The Absent-Minded Professor" and "The Parent Trap," will no doubt cringe when they hear that old books are being redone with new pictures. But, as nice as the original pale chalk and charcoal drawings were, they were not irreplaceable illustrations along the lines of Garth Williams' pencil sketches that accompany the "Little House" books. The story doesn't suffer at all, and the updated look just means a new generation of children will be exposed to a tender little story.

Noonan has illustrated the new book beautifully. The cover alone, a touching portrait of mother and child, makes this book stand out from others on the shelf. The rich pastel colors are as warm and inviting as the chenille bedspread under which the child hides.

I think this would make a nice gift for a new mother on Mother's Day and will be a book that toddlers want read over and over again.

A CHILD'S VIEW OF THE 1940 WORLD
This is the story written from the view of a 5 yr. old girl who is literally torn away from her parents where she is not old enough to understand what is happening. The story is heart rendering and a good one to start reading about the holocaust. Other books are far more compelling than this as regards what happens to people, but in the eyes of a youngster it is almost life ending for her and her friends. It seems there is another book or two awaiting to tell Ruth's parents' side of the story as well as possibly the Resistance Movement in and around the geographical area mentioned in this book.

Your Name Is Renee-Astonishing and Satisfying
Your Name Is Renee is an extraordinary book that captures the mind and spirit of the reader. It keeps you interested and has so much great detail that you just fall in love with the characters. I was truely amazed at how wonderful this book was. There were several reasons I found it so astonishing. There was great detail and information about the characters, events of WWII, and of the Holocaust. While you read this book you discover how hard the Jews had to work to stay unharmed and how scary it was for them for fear of being caught. You learn that everywhere they went they had to be cautious not to give themslves away as Jews. I love how you felt as if you were there. The events seemed so real. You especially felt sorry for the young children, such as Ruth (Renee was her fake French name), who had no idea what was going on, why families everywhere were being pulled away from eachother, and why her family was on a constant run. It was very emotional to learn about the Jew's struggles and ways of life during the Holocaust. Even children like Ruth had to adapt to this lifestyle and learn exactly what they should say around strangers to keep themselves safe. I got really into Your Name Is Renee, even catching myself yelling at characters for treating Ruth or another Jew cruely or taking something away from them. I mostly loved this book because I learned a lot about the Holocaust and who was involved during it. I also learned that the Jews always had to be alert no matter where they were and careful about who they trusted. Your Name Is Renee is a remarkable book full of suspicion, suspense, suffering, and support. I recommend to each and every person who likes or dislikes reading. Your Name Is Renee will astound everyone.

Compelling...A Story That Captivates
"Your Name is Renee" is the unforgettable story of Ruth Kapp Hartz, told from her viewpoint as a child in Nazi-occupied France in the early 1940's. It is too compelling to read in little increments...you'll want to consume it from cover to cover in one sitting. The writing style is simple and tremendously effective, never distracting from the story itself. Mrs. Hartz's story should be required reading from middle grades on up. Hats off to Stacy Cretzmeyer for giving us such a gem.

A Solid Introduction to the Field
This guidebook by a licensed PI (as you will learn in the book, in order to accept any compensation for investigative work, you must be licensed) and a criminal defense lawyer is a good basic introduction to the realm of private detectives. Well-organized and easy to read, the book is full of practical tips for the budding amateur and prospective professional. Each section (Tailing, Surveillance, Paper Trails, etc.) is introduced and illustrated by anecdotes from Fallis' own career. And while most of the book is pretty common sense and straightforward, it's nice to have it all spelled out in one place. Throughout, Fallis adopts a cautionary tone which dismisses how detective work are portrayed on TV and film and underlines the drudgery that most real life PIs deal with every day. Especially valuable are the chapter on civil work (which is the bread and butter of most investigative work), which outlines the most common areas and issues and the chapter on criminal work, which usually (but not always) involves working for a person accused of a crime.

If the book has a weakness, it's that some of it seems a bit dated. In the last two years, the incidence of identity theft has grown exponentially, and so one wonders whether some of the techniques he described for finding personal information out about people would work so well these days. Similarly, the world of computers and the Internet changes so quickly that his chapter on that is also probably not as useful as it might have been. However, the appendix on social security numbers (the first three digits indicate what state or area it was issued in) and information sources are especially handy references. All in all, a fine introduction to detecting.

Loved it!
Great book for beginners in the private investigation field. Very fun and easy to read. Loaded with good advice and practical knowledge. I'd recommend it to anyone with an interest in this area.

A Great Start to become your own Detective
This is one of the easiest to read "How To" detective books out there. The suggestions are easy enough for anyone to follow. From surveillance to tracking down deadbeat dads, this is the book for anyone interested in P.I. work. So be your own detective and investigate this book.

It's Da Bomb
I really love this book it is good.I love the ending. It is about what happens when this boy is about 12 or 13 years old.If someone is looking for a book to read I would suggest this book!!

Boomer's Journal: A life's castrophe beyond the looking jar
This book is the best book I ever read! It gets deep inside a young boy's life and tell things that just any body can understand about a teenage boy. He goes throgh times and trails, a lot children go through. It's pretty bad that can't nobody find this book anymore. Not even the places like the library carry this book, and they carry the oldest books!!!!????!!!!?!?!?! So I encourage every body that is looking at this ,order this book, you won't be unsatisfied!!!!!!!!!

Fighting and floods and fun!!!
I read this book pretty fast and I liked it. It has nice people in it and maybe bad people and all kinds of things happen to Boomer, who writes it. I wish there was more about Mary Margaret but it is Boomer's book so maybe she will make her own. Jake's Journal is what I am reading now which is so good. I keep a journal myself but nothing this exciting ever happens in my life. It is really good.

A book to share with others
There are too many tales out there for us to deny our spiritual side and this one was most intriguing. I have sent copies to friends who have lost loved ones in hopes it answers some questions. Yet it raises questions as well. Our life at the next level appears involve our personal life experiences. A.D's experience reflects the values of his time and place on earth. It's very Westernized.. I have to believe a soul from the Indian sub-continent or one from a recent life in China, would be unlikely to reflect similar experiences to Margaret Flavell in the same circumstances. In fact, I'd love to hear their stories as well. A cynic from a conservative, controlling religious viewpoint might suggest the entire book is a hoax used to justify political positions such as pro-choice, gun control and world peace. Yet, it is exactly for those reasons I want to believe I have just read a book which has enhanced my life. This one, and the next.

Experiencing the Beyond and More
EVIDENCE FROM BEYOND has confirmed my own spiritual journey. As A. D. Mattson expressed it, I, too, know I am a spiritual being spending time in this physical body, but I am not this body. Thank you, A. D., Margaret, and Ruth for bringing us a book of wisdom, love and concern for humanity and our beautiful planet! "Must reading" for spiritual seekers! Jeanne G.
