i read this book when I was in 2d grade, when my brother in 5th grade brought it home from the library. I read the patchwork monkey, and it care the heck out of me!! and that picture of the monkey. EWWW! I was searching online for several days to figure out the name of this book. (Patchwork monkey kept sending me to crafts sites). Any a fantastic book, very scary. Would love to get a copy (used are a bit pricey) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REPUBLISH AN ANNIVERSARY EDITION!

There is a story in this collection called "The Patchwork Monkey". I first read this story when I was in 4th grade and it scared me so good(bad) that I still remember it to this day and I am 34 now. Excellent scary stuff!

I hope you will forgive me if I do not remember everything about this book. It has been over ten years since I read it. I remember checking out of my elementary school's library as often as I could. This book is a collection of short scary stories about monsters. For concerned parents, this book was part of the collection of a very prestigious Christian elementary school's library. The stories are frightening in a mental sort of way, and never resort to blood and guts to scare the readers. Most of the stories end with the monsters either being destroyed, or losing their potential victims, but for those who like that sort of thing, there are two stories that leave the reader hanging, so beware. They probably won't give you nightmares, but any of the stories in this book are suitable for campfire use for children and adults alike. Enjoy.

I highly recommend Ruth Daigon's new book Between One Future And The Next. It's lyrical and moving with a subtle operatic quality that reminds the reader that Daigon was, indeed, an opera singer. This is a finely-nuanced book, filled with fresh revelations about life and love. This is the book of a poet who understands both the darkness and light of life and is generous enough to share what she knows. I loved reading it and love owning it. In fact, I have given it as a gift to many of my friends.

This is an exceptional book with information and insight not found anywhere else. It is a must-read for anyone interested in the civil rights movement, especially in the north, and anyone interested in the history of unionism in the steel industry. Not only did Needleman have unparalleled access to her subjects, she was able to use this access to its fullest benefit in her analysis and narrative. Even the notes in this book are fascinating, and the depth of research is evident in the references and bibliography. An incisive scholarly work, the book is also great reading and holds the reader's interest throughout. A terrific addition to the literature on the subject.

This is an excellent exploration of the changing worlds and struggles of black steelworkers not just in Northwest Indiana but also nationally through the 20th century. Needleman sensitively deals with the stories of five black union activists, then expands their experiences in tracing issues of power and race in the steelworkers union to the present. Goes well beyond all previous studies in caputuring not only the personal anguish but also the various organizational dilemmas of black steelworkers struggling amidst very difficult and changing racial circumstances. Highly recommended!!!

Needleman's book is a finely crafted blend of history and human interest. Though it focuses on the lives of five black unionists, there is a message here for everyone, regardless of race. Needleman probes each man's mind, revealing five distinct variations on a central theme. She then relates their experiences to those of other steel workers, putting it all in the context of the evolution of the USWA in a changing industrial climate. Great book. Easy to read. A real lesson in life.

This is the best book since sliced bread

I read this when I was 10 and crazy about ninendo. I still read it again and agian. I loved how it uses nintendo characters. The story changes every time you read it. The puzzles give this book and intresting twist. They just don't write books like they used too.

There have been many books that I've read but there is none like this one. It has everything a kid could want from a book--action, plot, memorable characters with a humorous twist.

I loved the cover. How did Mandery draw all of those characters onto the book jacket? Very impressive!

This is not only an interesting, easy to read book, it shows a side of politcal campaigning from an interesting point of view. Mandery is an objective observer with an inside seat. He was part of the campaign, but not part of the culture. That, in my opinion, is to his credit.

The book he has written is rife with funny anecdotes, touching scenes and aggravating politics as usual. Mandery keeps his perspective through the whole mess.

In his literary debut Mandery delivers a unique and thoughtful rumination on the machinations of a modern political campaign. With the fresh perspective of a campaign neophyte and his considerable skills of lawyerly analysis, Mandery offers a refreshingly honest chronicling of the 1997 New York mayoral race. Mandery's razor-sharp wit adds zip and readability to a topic lesser authors have consistently made bland.

Mandery asserts that the book is about modern political campaigns in general, and only "incidentally about the 1997 mayoral campaign." Indeed, his position as research director for the Messinger campaign affords the reader a fascinating insider's view of the nuts and bolts of a political campaign at the end of the twentieth century. We are privy to all of the key players, the sometimes-stilted decision-making process, strategy sessions, various private letters between campaigns, focus group sessions, and the research operations. At each step of the way Mandery offers his insightful analysis of campaign maneuvers and press coverage. He asks the commonsense questions that any thoughtful outsider might ask. His logic is consistently solid, systematically and lucidly cutting through the muck of political "spin" to reveal the truth of the matter at hand. Though he often wonders aloud whether he can possibly be objective given his position, Mandery scores points for his even-handed critique of both sides.

Perhaps more importantly, and most interestingly, Mandery brings into high relief the cast of characters involved -- the men and women who eat, drink and sleep politics, whose lives move from one campaign to the next. From his boorish campaign manager Jim to colorful rival Sharpton and hilarious longshot Menendez, Mandery describes real characters to rival any of fiction's most entertaining. As Mandery himself might agree, 'you can't make this stuff up.'

Ruth has witnessed a period of our modern history which is too little known and understood by much of the supposedly educated Western world - and written so well and thoughtfully about her experiences. We share her disappointments, admire her achievements with the German language, freeze with her, are inspired by the stoicism and even good humour of individuals who have suffered so much in war, feel the warmth of her German friends, can imagine the hassle and frustration of crossing into East Berlin and appreciate the fascination Ruth and Charles had with the events, culture, history, politics and customs of Berlin.

This 20 year detour by an interracial American couple in Cold War Berlin is an interesting, compulsive read which also permits valuable insights into personal interactions within the culturally diverse international community.

THIS is the book I have been looking for! It seems that most of the other books on e-learning start with instructional design principles and cover basic HTML and multimedia aspects of moving a course to the web. This book covered researched principles on what on the web helps and hurts learning. Although I do recommend learning instructional design as a starting point for all your on-line classes, this book will be invaluable when it comes to deciding how to present the content.

This book is the ultimate handbook to designing eLearning. It's easy to read, straight-forward style makes it a useful guide that you will pick up over and over. It's examples and principles can be used when justifying your design and development choices to clients both internal and external.

This book is a wonderful resource for newbies and experienced e-Learning developers alike. Finally we have do's and dont's based on actual research and real-life users. For a relatively new and ever-changing field, some rules are critical, and this book does a great job of providing them. I would definitely recommend this book.

Although this book doesn't get into the depth that a book such as H.C. Trumbull's "The Blood Covenant" does, it is quite adequate to handle the needs of the average reader as opppopsed to the scholar doing research. This is typical Kenyon and any one who has read after him realizes the nuggets of wisdom and knowledge so prevalent in his books. Those nuggets are also in this book. Highly recommended to those who are just learning about the Blood Covenant in Jesus we enter into at our salvation.

Oh how a generation of powerless preachers need to read the Scriptural truths in this anointed book, and get back to evangelising Jesus' way. If the lame are not leaping, the blind seeing, and the mute speaking after you proclaim Christ's Message this book will show you why, and how to get back to God's method of reaching the lost. When you embrace the revelation outlined here, you'll have no time for arguing silly doctrines, you'll be too busy saving sinners and healing the sick in Jesus' Name.

This is the BEST Book on the Blood Covenant I've read and I've read lots on it! You know what you have rights to in the Word after reading this book.

For a man who didn't know how to win a woman's heart, Matt Prescott made a good job of it.

Aaron Prescott, nearly 15, wanted a wife for his father and a mother for his brothers and sister. He wanted his father to be happy again.

Benjamin and Clement were special brothers and Del, the littlist, a cute sister. Clement did the trapping for pelts and Benjamin was great at collecting honey and Del kept chickens and gathered the eggs. Everyone contributed to the welfare of the family.

Matt and Aaron tracked down and broke to saddle, wild mustangs for the army. Isabella couldn't believe her luck in being able to join this special family.

But as always, danger does exist, and Matt must resuce Isabella from Cutler, a horror from her past. But love has blossomed for Matt and Isabella in a most beautiful fashion.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED -- don't miss this great story

At first I used to think that romance books were dorky. This is the first romance book I ever read. Now I read nothing but romance.

If you want to read about acceptance, love between family members, and how the good guy always wins then this is a must have! This book is witty, charming, and it is a great read when the weather is frightful!

A friend recommended we purchase this book for our 2 year old. We did and she loves it. I thought it might scare her, but it was quite the opposite. She points out the rabbits, owls and cats throughout the book and laughs when she sees the mouse at the end. A truly great book and a quick "read" too.

A wonderful choice for young children at Halloween or any time of year. Reading this aloud is lots of fun -- you can make it seem scary as you go through each page, then watch your child's reaction at the end. My son wanted me to read this over and over. We also have fun looking for all the little critters in the forest: owls, bats, tiny glowing eyes peeking out of the dark places, the cat, even a badger!

This book is rather cute and there is a cat that runs through the pages, making an appearance here and there. I loved the fact that this book presents itself as a "dark, dark" book and it really is funny that it is not a "dark" tale at all. The "darkness" is more about
the lack of light than it being about evil.

You start in a moor and walk through a woods. Then there is a dark castle and you walk up to the door. Once you enter the castle, you are in a dark hall and go up some dark stairs. You are in a fairy tale castle and then you see a dark passage. You are tempted to look behind a dark curtain and then the cat stands looking up at a dark cupboard.

The last page shows a mouse in a box with a rather frightened look on its face. So the only fear in this book is that the cat has found the mouse. Although it does seem the cat leaves the mouse sleeping happily in his little bed with his miniature candle and miniature slippers.

The beauty of this book is in the art. Ruth Brown studied art at the Birmingham College of Art and the Royal College of Art. She has worked on animated films for the BBC.
