An excellent set of basics tailored to nonprofit structure
Public relations expertise is helping the booming nonprofit business, and provides a variety of basic business approaches to nonprofit organization and management, from showing how to adopt a business strategy and how to market a speaker's bureau to using communication in speeches, selecting a board of directors, and marketing a nonprofit. An excellent set of basics tailored to nonprofit structure and experience.

A truly valuable book for non-profit organizations
Public relations is the key to success in society today. As an educator in a respected private school where public relations are vital, and a presenter in various local, state, and national forums, Kinzey's book has been pointedly valuable to me. Undercscoring, clarifying, and extending my knowledge, this book addresses both my personal effectiveness as a communicator and specific concerns I must emphasize to my expressive writing students who are concerned with improving their writing skills, as well as their adolescent interpersonal skills. Because the book is global in its applications, readership should extend beyond nonprofit organizations to anyone concerned with any facet of public relations.

A must read for anyone working in nonprofit!
Kinzey's analysis of effective public relations strategies for nonprofit organizations is a must read for anyone working in the nonprofit sector. The reader is guided through the necessary steps to engage public relations tactics and strategies to promote his/her organization. From chapters dealing with annual reports and company newsletters to the creation of a speaker's bureau, Kinzey effectively articulates the need for public relations in nonprofits. This book can be used as a reference tool for individuals responsible for public relations within their nonprofit organizations.

Her books helped me understand
At a time when these subjects were taboo to speak about around the dinner table, it was difficult to understand where to turn for clarification, knowledge, etc. Ruth Montgomery's books helped me a great deal in finding that understanding, encouraged me to seek more knowledge, and develop my own abilities to the degree that I have now worked with assisting clients and law enforcement for the past twenty years. Without her books, I would not have had the understanding nor the knowledge on what I was dealing with regarding my own psychic abilities.

Well Written
Very interesting reading I believe it to be a must read for
all Religous backrounds with an open mind toward the possibilities of the past and future.

Definitely worth reading
I have owned this book for over a decade and have read it at least 3 times (maybe 4). Reason is, I like the book so much, I end up reading it every few years. It is extremely interesting to those seeking understanding of our earth's past. Ruth and her guides give us satisfying details about the lands of Mu and Atlantis and life on them, Mu being populated by simple and philosophical people with Atlantis being more populated by scientific and modern minds. I found it interesting that the people of Mu had to hide themselves from Dinosaurs (about 50,000 plus years ago) while paleontologists today theorize that dinosaurs have not walked the earth for over 65 million years. What are the paleontologists missing?

I also really enjoyed the Planetary Visits chapter. Ruth writes that the planets in our solar system are not only there for physical reasons but also spiritual ones. In between lives, our souls choose to visit and meditate on certain planets based on what area of soul development we seek. Each planets gives off certain vibrations and influences, for example, Venus for perfect love, Mars for curbing anger and warlike feelings, Uranus for truce and Saturn (with its rings, or halo as they call it) emanates from the adoration welling up from the souls there thinking of nothing but adoration for the creator. Makes you wonder about man trying to visit Mars and beyond. I guess we are not meant to go there physically but rather in spirit form for specific purposes of soul development.

There is much more this book offers but rather than write a lengthy review, just buy and read it and judge for yourself. Everytime I read it, I feel like I am getting a Pre-Historic world tour and I enjoy the subject of reincarnation as well.

This book is NOT for Religious Bigots !
This book is most inspirational. I will read it again and again. A must buy ! Religious denominations are definitely not an issue here. The author knows that angels have been a part of human history, long before Christianity arrived on the scene ! Blessed Be.

Not for Born-again Christians!
As I read this book, I became more and more convinced that, Satan being the "Angel of Light," and that all his demons are simply fallen angels, these messages and visions cannot be from any angel in heaven! Hence, beware! Read with the realisation that you are NOT reading about anything from the LIVING Lord God of Israel. Malcolm D. Powell Bracknell, England.

The inspiration is most enormous!
Angle talk is a wonderful diet for a hungry soul it reaches the innermost subconcious of todays generation. It is a very effective "tool" for anyone who chooses to improve their spirital life as well as the physical existence. Religous denominations is not stressed.

Quilting unbound!
Ruth McDowell's well-documented journey to develop an extremely personal and artistic quilting 'statement' almost leaves you breathless. She has been able to adapt complex photos and themes into vibrant fabric art, using mostly traditional quilting techniques. However, her innovative use of fabrics (plaids never had it so good), shapes, and design concepts truly rate the title of "Art & Inspirations". A good friend with whom I shared the book got halfway through and said "I'm afraid to turn the pages - they're all so wonderful I can hardly stand it." My sentiments exactly.

clear inspiration, even for a novice like myself!
What a joyous collection of inspiring images! This amazing teacher creates paintings with fabric. Her wording is clear and uncomplicated for the novice and, I am sure, challenging enough for the seasoned quilter. Buy this book to look at as well as to learn from! I purchased it to use as inspiration for my paintings but Ms. McDowell makes the whole process sound exciting enough to get me peicing too!

Shows the growth a True Quilt Artist
What is surprising about this book is that it is not just a text-book showing simple patterns that you can copy, nor is it a picture book of dozens of incredible quilts that you will probably never equal. Instead this is a clear-eyed tour of the history of a wonderful Quilt Artist. Ruth shows some of her first simple, but well chosen and unique quilt patterns. These simple patterns from nature, lead directly to her more complex quilts, where she shows her increased talents in dazzling quilts of landscapes and semi-abstract trees and plants. But if nothing else, this book is well worth the cost for the single quilt using her daughter's outline in translucent black cloth in an amazing picture quilt. This is a book of inspirations for quilters at all levels.

This book is both an asset and inspiration
To anyone embarking on the learning of the art of basket weaving, this book is a must have. As someone new to basket making, I wanted to make sure that I knew the various terms and techniques and exactly what they meant. This book fulfilled that desire for me. Since purchasing it about two months ago, I have made a number of baskets and cannot count the number of times that I referred to it for direction. Both the text and photographs of the various techniques leave very little to desire. In the last paragraph of the introduction, Ms. Sudduth notes that she hopes that one will discover the excitement and the extraordinary possibilities of baskets. That hope has been fulfilled. I thank her for sharing her incredible knowledge of this art.

If you want to learn to do it right - Get this book!
Ms. Sudduth is a critically acclaimed basket artist and some of her work is displayed in the Smithsonian Institute. Her work is excellent and her teaching skills are perfection! This (hardback) book is 144 pages of serious instruction with many beautiful color photos of baskets from very talented basket artists around the world. Not only will she have you making a wonderful variety of baskets from the start... she includes several tips to help make your work easier (esp. how to correct mistakes and get rid of that dreaded "hairy" look).

Inside you will learn (and also see colorful pictures of): Commercially available materials, found and collected materials, tools and equipment needed, preparation of materials, and storage. All of the weaving terms are well defined to be easily understood, and broken into sub-catagories of weaving variations, bases, ribs and random weaves. You will learn the basic techniques of start and stop weaving, continuous weaving, how to upset your stakes at the beginning and then how to bend and tuck them in at the end. How to add new weavers, carving and attaching a rim. All about adding rim and base fillers. Ms. Sudduth also teaches you everything you need to know about dyes from the equipment needed, safety precautions, the difference between natural, chemical, and fiber reactive dyes... plus how to store them.

The book continues on to teach you stop and start plaiting, continuous plaiting, twined construction, start and stop twill, continuous twill, and ribbed construction; How to add surface embellishments such as curls, painting, stenciling, whitewashing, and adding other attachments.

The remainder of the book discusses (but not instructs) the non-woven forms of construction: coiled, knotted, stitch, wrapped, and cast and mold. The back has a list of suggested reading, suppliers, Basket Association and Guilds, Craft Schools offering classes, metric conversion tables, plus the names of all the contributing artists.

A very complete book, easy to understand, that not only teaches you - but will continue to inspire your creativety time and time again.

A must-have book for anyone interested in basketry
Billie Ruth Sudduth's book is a masterpiece. The color photographs (and the baskets themselves) are amazing. She showcases some marvelous pieces made with both traditional and unusual materials. She explains every aspect of the craft remarkably well, in easy to understand fashion.Even a beginner could weave a basket using her instructions. I was pleasantly surprised that she included so many of her basket patterns for baskets that are on display at the Smithsonian. Now, I will be able to weave a piece of art with her easy instructions.

A real page-turner
A well-paced enjoyable read. The characters come to life in a believable setting, with plenty of wit and suspense. A real page-turner! Highly recommended.

Not only delightful, but also authentic!
The Bathsheba Connection by Ruth Walter is simply delightful to read. The pacing is just right as a retired American teacher is forced into the role of "detective" by the disappearance of a friend. Not only is the mystery juicy, but the details of life in Paris are right on mark, creating a wonderful contrast between down-to-earth Goldie Yampolsky with her wry sense of humor and a plethora of sophisticated chracters including Russian gangsters and call girls. A must read!

The Bathsheba Connection to Parisian Underworld
The mystery novel is evolving toward new forms and concerns as traditional themes and motivations are questioned in our sceptical age. The Bathsheba Connection, a first novel by Ruth Walter, may very well be seen as among those landmark works which break new ground, and set the pattern for future writers. It takes the amateur detective as a protagonist, a metaphor for everyman (in this case everywoman) facing the complexities of evil in a world with fewer and fewer ethical guidelines, and triggers a stunning series of thrilling and chilling encounters.

An innocent abroad in Paris, hoping for a peaceful retirement after a lifetime of teaching, is wrenched into the quagmire of Parisian lawlessness and bureacracy by the disappearance of a friend; resisting official indifference, she penetrates the underworld by offering herself as a hostage; terrified but determined, she perseveres until she successflly confronts the cave of darkness, but is changed forever by a new awareness of the mysteries of love and hate.

The snappy dialogue and wry sense of humor will propel you along a great read! Don't miss it!

Bill of Rights a user's gide
This book leads you to the knolage of the bill of rightss and helps you understand

Highlights the role of everyday citizens
In The Bill Of Rights: A User's Guide, Linda Monk covers the history of the Bill of Rights, amendment by amendment, explaining how the Supreme Court has interpreted (and sometimes re-interpreted) each right. She also highlights the role of everyday citizens in enforcing these rights. Now in a completed updated third edition, the stories of ordinary people who made the Bill of Rights the living document it is today are engagingly presented. Of special note is the foreword by United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Highly recommended for personal, school, and community political science and constitutional studies collections.

A title's promise kept
This book is exactly what the title claims it is. It is easy to read and offers some brief but useful background on the English legal tradition which is handy for those wanting to probe the roots of the Bill of Rights. But what makes this book a success are its brilliantly simple explanations and enlightening illustrations (including a generous number of political cartoons) plus the actual words of people involved in key court cases. The User's Guide presents a winning formula for the ideal civics textbook. The lessons here are poignant, profound and memorable. Just what a teacher needs to cultivate a future of informed citizens. Enjoying Your Life...And How To Get There
As a "baby boomer" and one who often finds herself so in pursuit of the "good life" that I forget to enjoy today, this book spoke as if it were written directly to me. I suspect many other people would say the same. "Breathing Freely" not only gives us guidance on how to enjoy each day, Ruth McGinnis takes you to that place through her own experience. For me, this allowed me to more objectively reflect on my own life.

The book was easy to read. It is beautifully and lyrically written. I enjoyed it even more than another favorite, Joan Anderson's "A Year By The Sea".

Take the time to read this book and learn to enjoy your life...today...in all it's imperfections.

breathing freely
I read Breathing Freely on an airplane trip and could not put it down until finished. Ruth McGinnis writes courageously and with a sincerity that touched me deeply. Far more than a self help book, it offers first hand experience froms which one sees applications to their own life. I will treasure this book for a long time.

Spiritual Renovation
I once heard a minister speak of spiritual growth as being like renovating a house -- you clean out, tear down, walk around with dust and sometimes great inconvenience -- until the new structure is completed -- with reinforced, newly painted walls and other improvements, making the finished product more comfortable, functional and livable.

What I never understood, however, was exactly how to accomplish such a spiritual and emotional renovation. Ruth McGinnis' book "Breating Freely" explains, in very honest detail, her renovation process, with the end result being the freedom to accept your past, celebrate your present, and make wiser decisions for the future.

This is an invaluable roadmap for anyone seeking to spritually breathe freely.

A great book with a great chance to learn
I found this book not only an unbelievable book to read but also a book which I learnt a lot from. As I am learning about the Holocaust in school now, it was good to hear a personal story from the horses mouth(so to speak) of what actually happened. Often when you hear stories they are changed each time they are retold, like the game broken telephone. But when you read a book which was written by the person who was the actual survivor, you know it isn't going to be all distorted and something you can actually learn from. I am still unable to comprehend exactly how it all happened but it did so now we should make sure that the story of the Holocaust is told to the future Jewish and non-Jewish generations to come, to make sure it is never forgotten. Also to make sure Holocaust deniers don't convince people that the Holocaust never happened as they are very persuasive with their stupid lies. Unfortunatley one day we won't have any survivors left and that is why we need to educate the future which is my generation and the generations that follow. So I recommend if you haven't read this book to read it and if you have or once you finish, recommend it to everyone to read. Ruth Elias is not only a fabulous author but a fabulous and heroic person. She is someone we should all look up to.

Heart renching decision!
Triumph of Hope, takes the reader along with Mrs. Elias as she lives through her every day encounters. The pain and suffering, and also the humiliation that the Huppert family endures leaves one with a heavy heart. But the pressing memory that I have of this book, is the decision that Mrs. Elias was forced to make in order to save the life of her beautiful baby girl.

Excellent Book!
Ruth's journey into the world of hell and horror leaves one feeling riveted and emotionally drained. A real "must read"! I had the priviledge of meeting Ruth in Israel last summer and she is a remarkable woman.
