An amazing book!
Finally, I have come across a book that helps children understand other children who have autism. I love this book because my friend has a daughter with autism and they read it together. Also, they love the pictures and the witty way it was written. I think this book helps children to understand other children who have difficulties like autism and shows that even children with problems like autism are fun people too! I recommend this book to anyone with children. My daughter begged me to buy this book after she saw the funny pictures.

A Heroine to Root-a-Toot-Toot Fer! YeHaw!
This book is amazing! I bought this book for my grandchildren because it reminded me of my childhood in Texas. Jules is right as rain and Gertie is downright adorable! It is a pleasure to read this one out loud. You will develop a drawl from the infectious voice that Esther Pearl naturally evokes in her writing. I do hope that Jules and Gertie have more adventures in the future.

As beautiful as Angels
Loved it. Originally artistic and colorful

my coco loves this book!!!!
this book is a pleasure to read out loud...the art work is beautiful. Finally, a cleverly written adventure with a girl leading the action.

I love reading this story to my children!
Ms. Watson's story set in the old west with dashing heroine is sure to delight the little ones in your household. Reading this story to my children reminds me of the Saturday afternoon TV westerns of my childhood. I find this story most amusing when read with the inflection of the late, great Slim Pickens. This is a FUN book!

A New Beginning II : A Personal Handbook to Enhance Your Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness
Published in Paperback by Abraham-Hicks Publications (01 June, 1991)
Authors: Crown Ministries, Jerry Hicks, and Esther Hicks
Amazon base price: $15.00
Average review score:

Nothing More Than Feelings....
New Beginning II is a great explanation of the surprisingly revolutionary concept that it is our feelings and emotions that really "create our reality". Most new thought books rightfully stress the importance of thoughts, however, the overwhelming number of thoughts we have are the by-products of our emotional responses to what we perceive. New Beginning II clearly explains how to deliberately change these emotional responses, creating feelings, that in turn will cycle back to the kinds of thoughts we have to have in order to produce the positive feelings, which in turn will reproduce the positive thoughts we need to create the reality we desire. Think of New Beginning II as sort of "Seth Material dumbed down", it's less intellectually challenging than the Seth Material, but no less effective. I also find it interesting that Jerry and Esther Hicks proudly acknowledge the significance of the Seth Material and Jane Roberts...this is a positive reflection of the Hicks' ethical integrity-unlike the legions of New Thought authors who have been ripping off Seth/Jane for years, the Hicks' are honest about their spiritual heritage.

THE BOOK on conscious creation.
This book contains and further elaborates on most of the information given in the first book (vol I) except the planetary alignment stuff. The information in this and volume I is extremely practical information, as opposed to very theoretical. Again like volume I this book gives you the mechanics of conscious creation and how the universe works to bring things into physical manifestation. This book gives back meaning by showing you every thought you have has an impact in your life and the life of others. This book can show you why your life is a product of your thoughts and beliefs. If I was given the choice of only one book it would be this one.

The Most Life Improving Form of Thought Available
Great book! Great philosophy! Buy it and hundreds for your friends if you are ready for this advanced thought. This book served as a summary of the many Abraham-Hicks audio tapes I have listened to over the past year. I too have read hundreds of books on philosophy, metaphysics, new age, religion, self-help and this is the best in terms of practical ways to create a wonderful life for yourself. Also, great explanations on how our Universe works by a group of wise non-physical teachers. Read it and try not to get happier.

A great little resource.
This book has around 11,000 words with adequate definitions.

I like the fact that the people that compiled this dictionary included names and even a guide to assist in pronounciation.

This nook is not an exhaustive researh on the Hawaiian language; but will greatly assist in research; Two Bears.

Aloha nui loa (I love you very much).

Selected Non-Fictions

A sundae of Borges
Borges, besides being a poet and short-fiction writer, took his ultra-worldly ideas to "non-fiction" pieces as well. As you can imagine, the mind-bending work in fiction is even more thought provoking when Borges remarks on Shakespeare, the clipping of one's toes, or the nature of art.

Perhaps the best part of this collection are the "non-fictions" from The Chronicles of Bustos Domeqc -- a very cheeky collection of essays which are written about fictive subjects: a poet who is doomed to repeat himself, a new wave of cuisine where taste has devolved to elemental proportions -- salty, sweet, tart, etc.

Borges wrote as a literarist: he knew his work would be collected, read, and re-read. These collection "non-fictions" are finely translated, with a fresh breath and fresh pen by a trio of translaters.

Jorge Luis Borges And The Canadian Rebellion Of 1944 That Cu
Jorge Luis Borges And The Canadian Rebellion Of 1944 That Cut Off Relations With Greece
Many sociologists agree that Jorge Luis Borges is clearly the most monumental event in Roman history. While other powerful scholars may disagree, it became obvious that Jorge Luis Borges was not nearly as monumental as Cuban anthropologists would have us believe. This claim is confirmed by three skillful points: the Marcus Aurelius Coup of 1916 that cut off relations with Ireland, the Roman Doctrine of 1968 that paved the way for the Anarchism Doctrine, and the Abraham Lincoln Revolution of 1945 that improved relations with the Italian citizenry.

In 1781 a member of a reknown group of Japanese historical writers wrote: "Nothing succeeds like success." (King 90) In some circles, this caused revolution; in others, revulsion. This begs the question, was Jorge Luis Borges Colonialism? In 1913 it was thought that "It hath been an opinion that the American elite are wiser than they seem, and the French populace seem wiser than they are; but howsoever it be between nations, certainly it is so in Jorge Luis Borges." (Gould 120) Obviously sociologists recognize that the two are intertwined.

These days the lessons of Jorge Luis Borges seem outdated and irrelevant. It's easy to forget that, once, Jorge Luis Borges was a reknown force that changed the minds and hearts of the Italian landed gentry. Even as late as 1945, Abraham Lincoln noted, "To the memory of Jorge Luis Borges, first in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of German countrymen." (Cromwell 121) God bless America.

The End

Across The Ocean - Another Labyrinth.
One of the most cherished items in my ever-expanding library is my dog-eared copy of "Labyrinths", complete with the coffee-, alcohol-, and bath stains which lend it almost as much character as the words within its covers. This new edition of Borges selected non-fiction will no doubt in the fullness of time reach a position of equal prominence on my bookshelves. The debate will forever rage as to whether Borges deserves that grandest(yet often all too hollow and ephemeral) of epithets - "Great Writer", purely by virtue of the fact that he never wrote anything of more than a few pages in length. But the pellucidity and erudition of his prose raises quality above quantity to an altitude from where we lose sight of the debate, thus rendering it redundant. Along with a number of essays already available elsewhere, including the seminal "New Refutation Of Time", this collection ranges in typical Borges style from film reviews (King Kong, The Petrified Forest etc.), through dispassionate yet condemnatory meditations on Fascism, to his well- ploughed but ever-fruitful ground of literary rumination. His series of essays on Dante opened this reader's eyes-and heart- to the true heartbreaking nature of that poet's relationship with Beatrice, prompting a reappraisal of a book I gave up on fifteen years ago, halfway through "Il Purgatorio"; this summer, I've promised myself, I WILL read the whole of "Il Divina Commedia".Not out of a sense of duty, you understand, but because I WANT to. Therein lies the hub of Borges greatness as a writer: his self-proclaimed greatness as a reader manifests itself on the written page as dizzying eclecticism and enthusiasm for allusion that moves the reader to explore not only new avenues of thought, but also a newer and more verdant landscape of literature than had previously been suspected to even exist. Sail with Borges and new continents, new constellations will rise before you. On a personal note I have Borges to thank for my discovery of Hume, Chesterton, the Pre-Socratics, St Augustine,Flann O'Brien,Thomas Browne, and so many others who would have remained permanently below my horizon otherwise. If you feel that reading a book should an experience of expansion, of glimpsing new vistas,to develop a hunger for exploration, then this is for you.

A Must for Practitioners of Pediatrics!
The 5-minute pediatric consult is written in an easy to read outline format. The writers have eliminated unnecesary obscure data and offer a concise outline of all major pediatric diseases. The topics are designed to be read in 5 minutes or less and all the up to date information to diagnose and treat a specific illness is included. The topics are alphabetized, so they are easy to look up. The writers are accomplised experts in their fields and the book has been edited by the distinguished Dr. Schwartz, at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. As a professor of Pediatrics, I highly recommend this book to practicing pediatricians, family practitioners, nurses and students.

waiting for the CD!

an excellent quick reference for most of what i want to know
love the format. listed alphabetically, the items are presented in a easy to read format. Just about all I want to know about the problem when working in a busy office. I can read more later but this gets the job done. an excellent 90's type of book. where is the CD?

Signing Exact English

Must Have for beginner Signing Exact English Students
Signing Exact English is a must have for beginners. I am a teenager with a dream of becoming a CDI (Certified Deaf Interpreter.) I learned a lot from this book. Hopefully I will be able to pass on the gift of Sign, and this book, to my children. I reccomend hard cover (the paperback cover is pretty flimsey.)

great resource!
Get the pocket edition of this book and carry it with you! I mistakenly ordered the small size and was surprised when such a tiny book arrived, but now I'm thrilled.

My middle child was speech delayed due to a transient hearing loss. I had heard often of parents using baby signs but had never really considered it myself. Now I wish I would have, because my daughter *loves* to use sign. I chose a "real" sign language instead of creating signs, as some parents choose to do, because I wanted consistancy, uniformity and the chance that their signing might come in handy with a signing person. After all, why re-invent the wheel?

The full size version of this book is much easier to read, but the convenience of the small size makes the slight difficulties in interpreting the signs worth the while.

SEE USEFUL COMMUNICATION TOOL
I Have a son with a form of Autism and I was desparate because it was so hard to communicate with him. My local school district offers free SEE Sign classes so I decided to give it a whirl. Well...bravo! I came home and taught my son what I had learned and he actually learned the SEE alphabet in 2 days. It's like our own secret language. He is also very verbal, but this is another method of communication and it is fantastic. He actually asks me what the sign is for different words and I get my SEE Sign book out and we look it up together and learn the sign.

Esther 101
Esther's story is my favorite story in the Bible. She was a very strong woman who was fearless (she was not afriad to be herself). Lisa Ryan has done a great job applying this fabulous story to life as a young woman today. I found that the writing was somewhat silly (Mrs. Ryan sometimes used slang never spoken by anyone outside of middle school), but the message was awesome. Every girl should read this book!

Great Book
This book is written for the middle school ag.. hence the reason that the slang is so far off... (as noted in the previous reveiw) It is a great book about becoming a modern day Esther.

Awesome book: two thumbs up!
This was a great book!!! Even thought I am still reading it, It's already making me think about who I am and what I should be working on I love this book! It tottally makes Gods word fun!
