This is an excellent resource for students and staff.
I found this book to be very valuable when it came to organizing our school technology team. I think this book would be a valuable addition to all schools contemplating this direction with technology. The lessons are easy to understand and presented in a manner that are easily comprehended by the students. The book is full of forms that will aid the advisors and the students in keeping track of all the work done on machines. I would highly recommend this book for those schools wanting to get the kids involved helping others with technology. This book will help you do just that. I give this book a 5 star rating.

A simply outstanding children's book
Thoughtfully written for young readers by Esther Bender, Thank God For Rocks is a vibrant, full-color picture book imbued with Christian values. A poor man becomes the owner of a small farm; yet he is grateful for all God has given him, -- especially the rocks. For the rocks themselves become vital material in his construction of a new house, a warm barn, and a stone fence for the garden. The rich colors of the impressionistic-style illustrations by Mary Anne Lard are an especial highlight in this simply outstanding children's book which is very highly recommended for ages 3 to 7.

Get ready for a wild ride!
When Lowell's birthday dawns with a red sky, Lowell's siblings, Earl and 'retta Sue, take such delight in predicting foul weather and the cancellation of the birthday celebration. But in raucous tall tale tradition, Lowell imagines the many ways his far-flung relatives will find to get to the party. Rogers' exuberant art is the perfect accompaniment to this original tale that highlights weather lore based on scientific fact and begs to be read aloud in a down-home accent. Bravo!

What it meant to be an artist during the Depression
The life and art of Esther Phillips is revealed in This Fantastic Struggle: The Life And Art Of Esther Phillips, a collection of letters, interviews, scholarly analysis, and insights on what it meant to be an artist during the Depression years and thereafter. A gorgeous centerfold display of a selection of her works accompanies pages of detail which are intricate and insightful, filled with drama and facts. The result is a comprehensive coverage of a lesser-known artist who deserves a place in history.

I recommend this well-written intelligent resource.

The Tupamaro Guerrillas.
Published in Hardcover by E P Dutton (1972)
Author: Maria Esther, Gilio
Amazon base price: $6.95
Used price: $39.99

A must read on this subject
A brilliant work on a subject in which is very hard to find information. The book will give you an inside look into how the Tupamaros were looked by Uruguayans. It starts by exposing the conditions that triggered the formation of this group and it reveals through several interviews with Uruguayan adults and even kids the influence that they were starting to have in Uruguay. Also, there's a very good interview with a Tupamaro in which he describes the taking of Pando and the escape from "La Carcel de Punta Carretas". Moreover, it describes vividly the torture methods employed by the regime and how it affected the Tupamaros' methods.

As most books in this subject, this book is extremely hard to find. It might require some extra effort and time but believe me is worthy.

Todo Uruguayo tendria que leer este libro ya que describe un muy importante y oscuro momento en nuestra historia.

Ragnarok and Roll!
I was given a battered copy of this book by a friend of mine in sixth grade. Just two pages in, and I knew I was hooked.

Words really cannot describe what an amazing gift Esther Friesner has for humorous fantasy--and this trilogy, of which this is the third volume, is her most side-splitting work. _Unicorn U._ is arguably the best of the three. The chapter titles alone are memorable; the puns are *awful*, and if the plot doesn't have you laughing out loud at least five times, I'll eat a bug. The characters are funny enough that they'd be worth reading about if they did nothing but sit around all day... and, of course, they have considerably more to keep them busy than that. There's an Apocalypse to stop, after all.

And as if these qualities weren't recommendation enough, _Unicorn U._ is quite possibly the novel of the trilogy that's richest in meaning, moral, and message--all without spoiling the mood or missing a beat. While I might not put it into the hands of a child (a lot of swearing happens), I'd certainly say that it would be a worthwhile read for young adults. It's funny enough to hold attention without lacking substance beneath the laughs.

If you can find a copy of this book anywhere, buy it. Even if you haven't read the first two, buy it. And then spend years hunting for the others if you must. This is definitely my favorite comic fantasy series, and Esther Friesner deserves all commendations for being able to mesh serious issues with humor in a manner unmatched by anyone else.

Unlocking Your Voice: Freedom to Sing
Published in Paperback by Victor (1990)
Author: Esther Salaman
Amazon base price: $24.95
Average review score:

Great advice on finding freedom in singing
Salaman has written a little gem of a vocal instruction book based on the "bel canto" style of singing. In the book, she includes exercises for starting the note and vowel centering, agility, vibrazione, messa di voce, and resonance and offers solid advice on daily practice. She also offers valuable advice on dealing with performance anxiety and tension, vocal strain, and the "pleasures and perils of the singing profession." This book is for singers in the more advanced stages of training or for teachers of singing, not necessarily for beginners.

Serious Arthurian Entertainment
Yes, that's both Serious and Entertainment. This books meets the humor quotient you'd expect from Friesner, but it's not all fun and games. There is a depth to both the characters and to the stories themselves that I hadn't expected to find. She starts off with frumpy queens in housedresses reminiscent of Tanya Huff's dysfunctional Olympians and a goofy drinking song from Queen Gwen's Bar & Grail; she moves on to the more serious matters of Nimue waking Merlin and Mordred's version of Camelot's endgame. Throughout, these stories give us a revisionist history of the periphery of the Arthurian legends. Seek no Grails here -- this is the marginalia in a provocative new light. The Mists of Avalon becomes the canonical history from which some of these retellings deviate! Touching and thoughtful, witty and wry, this collection is probably the best Arthuriana I've read since Marion Zimmer Bradley. One note: the title, "... & other tales of King Arthur and his knights" is a bit misleading. These tales are barely about King Arthur and almost entirely not about his knights. Main characters include Nimue, Guinhwyfar, Morgan, Vivian, Mordred, Cai and several characters you never knew were involved at all. We've had enough knights anyway.

The View Beyond My Father

Author: Mabel Esther Allan

Used price: $1.00
Collectible price: $2.12

A Unique Voice
This was a breakthrough book for Mabel Esther Allan, who abandoned her former cautious writing style and wrote this story with energy, courage and black humor. Its heroine, Mary Angus, has been blind for two years and is stifled by her father's sentimental overprotection. Craving new experiences, intellectual stimulation, and a chance to take action, she rages inwardly and provides the reader with ruthless, hilarious portraits of her family and middle-class suburban society. Hope for Mary comes in the form of a new neighbor, an intellectual boy whom she greets with hormonal teenage enthusiasm, and--a miracle only vaguely described--an operation that restores her sight. Armed with restored vision, she gradually challenges the barriers women and children face in timid 1930's suburbia. Allan wrote this semi-autographical book in the first person, and Mary's strong, clever, honest voice makes the story ring. Readers who enjoyed Jean Little's "From Anna", Robin McKinley's "Beauty" and L.M. Montgomery's "The Blue Castle" will enjoy this book.
