A True Inspiration!!
I too had the great pleasure of meeting Ms. Salier when she was a guest speaker at my college in New Jersey. After hearing her story I purchased her book on the spot and read it in one sitting. Her amazing story is an inspiration to both the young and old. It was both funny and terrifying, and something I will pass on to my children. She is a remarkable woman and someone I will never forget. Her story is worth reading for anyone--history buffs, people interested in the Holocaust, or anyone who feels they need a little inspiration.
Uplifting and inspiring
I've had the pleasure to know the author, Eva Salier, personally via our local community theatre. She is a marvelously vibrant woman, always with a ready smile. I treasured the opportunity to be able to read of her experiences in various concentration camps, including Auschwitz, during WWII. The book is also illustrated by Eva herself (who has done many artistic things for us at the theatre, including designing our programs and brochures over the years). Thank you, Eva, for sharing this story with us, and helping us to at least understand what the daily life may have been like in the camps for the prisoners.

Love "The Wild Baby"
I LOVE this book. I got it at a garage sale when my son was small, maybe 3 or 4.... We loved the adventures of the wild baby. Now that my son is 16, I plan to hang on to my copy for grandkids! :)
Delightful!
Cute and funny and memorable rhyme, with imaginative illustrations on fine paper. One of the best kids books we had when my children were little. I want to buy it for a friend's children, and will not part with my copies!

Read Lesley Ackland's 15-Minute Pilates
As a former client with Lesley Ackland I will tell you her books are accurate to the body conditioning program that Joseph Pilates brought to us. Lesley, has the gift of teaching correct Pilates excerises to anyone from the prima ballerina to the retired grandfather. No matter how old you are you can benefit from the pilates technique in just 15 minutes a day. First you have to learn from Lesley's Pilates books that this body program is the coming together of the mind, body and spirit through visualization, breathe and your core(abs)! Understanding where pilates comes from is easy to learn after reading 15 Minute Pilates. Enjoy! I still do after having Lesley as my first pilates trainer.

No Writer Can Top Sandra Kitt!
Whew! What a novel! Like a Caribbean jungle, it literally steams in your hands. I didn't want this adventure to end. And the child was touching. Kitt has a gift in creating child characters. And the action rose and fell like the tide. It swept me away. I couldn't put it down, but that shouldn't surprise me. With every book Sandra Kitt just keeps getting better and better. This is a whole, new genre that's exploding. In addition to Kitt, there are some other stars to watch. Robyn Amos and Gwynne Forster create page turners; Francis Ray, Lynn Emery, Felicia Mason, and Ebonie Snoe are pros, too. Next to kitt, my favorite is Rochelle Alers. Wow, she can spin a tale! These are the top writers in the genre. Stick with them and you can't go wrong. There are a few others, but they aren't worth mentioning, and they certainly aren't worth your money. Kitt is a born storyteller, and her talent is richly evident in Adam and Eva. The books spring to life, with pungent smells and tropical vistas. This book would make a great movie, with Whitney Houston in the lead role. For Christmas this year stuff every stocking with a novel by Kitt.

For Kids from 5 to 85
"A Pumplehoober is someone who has bad luck. I, too, often have bad luck, and that is why everyone calls me Pumpelhoober. My father is German and speaks German, my mother is American and speaks English. But with my luck I was born in Africa where everyone speaks French," the nine year old explains. Written for kids of all ages who wonder about their parents, brothers and sisters, about different countries, and just why exactly they are who they are.

A fine collection of essays on an important subject.
Westerlund and Rosander's work is a valuable collection of essays examining the interaction between African Sufism and "reformist" Islam (Islamism). The collection highlights the variety of perspectives which exist within Islamic thought, and also the important interaction between Islam and Politics in Africa. Scholars in the field will find the essays thought-provoking and a valuable addition for advanced undergraduate and graduate reading lists.

The best book about time and life management
This small, concise book is insightful and gets to the heart of time and time management. It is better than any of the popular, larger books or programs on the subject.

Sex, Lies and Milking Cows
I work for the publisher, but that's not why I adore this book (I'm on my second reading of this book). I adore it because the main character's internal struggle, his terrible and constant anxiety to fulfill his incomplete dreams, are, in turns, unsettling and also friendly to my own anxieties.
That character--Edmund Saknevik--abandons his name and family for a quest to revive his country's oldest dialect and rural legacy and is swept into an increasingly powerful current of desire for a fiery woman and desire for redemption.
His is a story of a man who seeks to return to the Garden, but only ends up returned to an internally destructive inferno.
The translation from Norwegian is gripping and seamless and never confuses or puzzles the reader.
If I don't read this book a third time before I die, I would be surprised.
