The Sam books by Barbro Lindgren are very simple and wonderful to share with small children who are just starting to be interested in books. My one year old loves this book. The pictures are nice and the text on each page short, making it an ideal choice for little ones with limited attention spans.

This book was so incredible!!! I am anxious now for my new book Shadow Lane V to come in the mail. You have me so hooked. I have seen the change in Hugo and Laura. I was just Can I say Wow enough. This was the best in the series. I could not put it down. Taking it to work, at my ultra conservative work place, staying up late to see what will happen next... I feel like, Hugo, Laura, Susan, Margarite and of course the delicous Micheal Flag as new firends and I cant wait to see their next adventure. I applaud you!! This book rocks. For give this cheeseness.. I give it 5 out of 5 floggers.

I bought this book for a CHICANO/A studies course that I had and it really sank inside of me. It shows pictures of the beautiful murals that can be found in CALIFORNIA by some well known chicano/a muralists and others by popularly known organizations such as SPARC. Coincidentally SPARC which stands for SOCIAL PUBLIC ART RESOURCE CENTER are also the community artists that pained a 2, 435 foot long "GREAT WALL OF LOS ANGELES" which can be viewed at Coldwater Cyn and Oxnard St near Los Angeles Valley College. Very inspirational as well. These murals are also depicted in the book, but I recommend breathing in the life of the murals on your very own. It creates a sort of "ZEN" between you and history. Very powerful images!

It includes inspirational and pride-filling pictures from "CHICANO PARK" in San Diego, East Los Angeles Ramona Gardens MURALS, murals from BERKELEY, murals from freeway underpasses, and San Francisco. These of course are only a couple of localities, there are more. It is an empowering book that really lets you see what struggles the Latino people have had to overcome. It depicts scenes from earlier pre-colonial struggles to recent political views. It is a book that you will pick up and want to add to your collection. This is a 2nd copy that I own and thought that I would share the knowledge with others. It really makes you want to go out and see for yourself what beautiful pieces of art lay within the urban chaos that we live in.

yeshe tsogyal. apology accepted if you don't know of her. she is the consumate female yogi, and the events of her life-story, with its sweet and bitter struggles as a stunning village-beauty offerred in marriage to the king of tibet, to her tantric initiation and education and subsequent practice (under the guidance of her consort padmasambhava, the mystic yogi credited with bringing tantra to tibet), all serve to exemplify the triumph over ignorance and suffering. this book is heavy at times (she went through some tuff stuff) but you will be a better woman for reading it (males and females alike!)

N. Luhmann makes a thorough job in the large area of topics which he touches. Although the main reference of the book is the explanation of social and psychological systems (systems of conciousness), by the way he clears many of the secret prejudices or simply forgotten paradigms in modern science, explaining hereby otherwise not understandable phenomenons. Required reading for epistemologists, too. (Wolfgang Sohst, Berlin)

I was dreading my required graduate course in statistics, and worried about the entrance exam I would have to take to get into the class, when a friend loaned me this book. In just a few weeks I had read 300+ pages and taught myself enough to pass the test. I am still referring to the book frequently (so much, in fact, that I'm ordering my own copy from amazon). It is a great book because it is so much easier to understand than the textbooks my professor is using in the class. Each concept is thoroughly explained in plain language, with good examples and practice exercises. I don't know what I would have done without this resource!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Thaddeus writes in a lucid, sensual style that envelopes the reader and lingers after the last page is turned. The characters are interesting, at times frustrating, but genuinely engrossing. This book left me longing for more from this promising writer!

My son and I read this book this summer for his summer reading program. Not only did my son, who was 7, enjoy the book but I couldn't wait to learn more from our readings. We read the book in two days. I am suggesting this book to his 2nd Grade teacher this year. This is a must to read book!!!

This gentleman's art is beautifully reproduced in this book. The foreward is something different too!The artist himself mentions Rodin and Michelangelo - Escher and Dali have a place in there too I think. The man's work is diverse and fascinating. The text, by the artist and others, is plain spoken - and truthful.
