Comprehensive History of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints
Published in Hardcover by Brigham Young University Press (1965)
Author: B.H. Roberts
Amazon base price: $12.95
Used price: $75.00

This is the interperative History of the Church of Christ.
This is the interpretative history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, written by B. H. Roberts to commemorate the Church's centennial in 1930. It differs from the "History of the Church," also known also as the "Documentary History of the Church," because the straightforward history of the Church is just Joseph Smith's history and journals-raw data-but does not have any analysis or explanation. Moreover, the straightforward History of the Church only covers 1805-1844, with a seventh volume covering the exodus, while the Comprehensive History of the Church covers 1830-1930.

Both are good, and you have Elder Roberts' keen eye and sharp mind handling some of the most intense times, spiritually speaking, in the history of the world.

Computer Aided Drafting with LinuxCAD.

My experience with LinuxCAD book and the program.
The book describes drafting program for new emerging operating system: Linux. Linux is a multitasking, multiuser operating system for PCs Sun Workstations and other computers. Up to recent time the usage of this extremely reliable and fully networked OS was limited by lack of application software which runs under it. LinuxCAD is the first CAD package developed for Linux. I purchased the book , installed LinuxCAD from the attached disks on my Linux Intel PC and used book as an instruction how to work in the program. As it appears LinuxCAD is very similar to Acad that I worked before , I was using book and the program for creating technical illustration for my University coursework. Good job folks. We need more developers like you so Linux can prevail !!! I may recommend the book and the program to anyone who would like to do any kind of drafting works on Linux. Program was pretty stable and I had not even one crash , although I may say the book is very helpful too, it helps to get up to speed with LinuxCAD very quickly.

The limits of hegemony
This is a superb work bringing together social theory and history with international relations. Persaud uses the case of Jamaica to demonstrate how small states can influence global discourse and power balance, even if in a limited area. He does this by making use of the concept of hegemony/conunter-hegemony in innovative ways. Persaud suggests and demonstrates very convincingly that counter-hegmony is always integral to the construction of any hegemonic project. IR practicioners, scholars and students in social theory and history will benefit enormously from reading this book.

Great history source - western/central Connecticut railways!
A great history book filled with wonderful stories arranged in a line by line, depot by depot format with maps, mileage and a photo from each depot. If you're a steam engine buff this book is a must. Many of the photos are from private collections, you probably won't find them anywhere else.

Cows in Church gets Rave ReMoos!
Cows in Church is a marvelous collection of children's sermons. It appeals to children with their capacity to grasp spiritual yet difficult concepts without overcomplicating them because of its refreshing use of modern culture to support its points. There is also in each sermon suggested props with which to make the point, e. g. a camera with fast film. I recommend this book to any minister or layperson who wants to bring God's Word to children. Cows in Church is not only simple a collection of children's sermons; it also speaks to adults. When I began the book, I could not put it down. It spoke to this adult woman like a concise, substantive collection of myths or fables, made me feel as if I had actually been to church. Besides being engrossing and entertaining, I learned a lot of Biblical history, a delightful surprise. For example, I had been told that Jesus threw the money changers from the temple because they were defiling the house of God. Cows in Chuch teaches the specifics of money gauging and fraud that went on in the temple. This makes Jesus' not only anger understandable but almost required. I recommend this book not only to children, but to any adult who wants to be jolted, surprised, tickled and grateful by this refreshing presentation of Biblical stories and truths.

the definitive book
The AAT is nearly 25 years old, yet it still manages to hold its head high in international comparisons of effective optical telescopes. In terms of citations, the AAT ranks near the top in international terms.

The book is a history of the birth and construction of the telescope. It is the only popular acccount, and as such is an important source of information for anyone wanting to know about this trail-blazing telescope.

The book is a logical sequential account of the birth of the telescope. The writing suffers a little by being shared between three authors, some of whom are more accessible than others; but this is a minor quibble in what is otherwise an authoritative account of an important instrument.

This book is fabulous!
This is a book in a Phonics series of Wonder Books which has precious pictures and simple text. We checked it out from the library and my four year old learned the text after only reading it a few times. The photos keep children interested and the text helps them learn phonics. I want the whole set for my children.
