Easy To Understand
I really appreciated reading The Alzheimer's Legal Survival Guide. It is written in language that most anyone can comprehend.

Interesting and Informative
The Alzheimer's Legal Survival Guide makes for interesting and informative reading. I like the little vignettes which personalize the disease.

A Great Help!
Thanks so very much for the book. It will be a great help to me. The Medicaid part is the most important.

PLACE THIS BOOK IN YOUR LIBRARY!
Most any story that includes kids tends to be really good.
This books belongs to the subseries "Families are Forever" and really express that thought.

Great humor, wonderful story, and excellent addition to your library -- keep for a second and a third read -------- especially as it intoduces you to Nancy Shapiro in the "Expectantly Yours" series -- ANYTHING FOR HER MARRIAGE -- Another great follow-up book.

A ready-made family? Elizabeth doesn't think so!
Guy Sanford has three kids, one smelly dog and horrible taste in clothes. He also has eyes for Elizabeth Louden, a woman he'd be crazy to chase. She seems cold and aloof until he begins to thaw her icy exterior. Beneath it he finds a warm woman who's heart is her most beautiful feature.

Templeton does a great job of portraying a relationship that includes a pre-made family. The kids act like kids. They fight, they whine and they wormed their way into Elizabeth's heart, as well as mine. Guy is a man trying to do everything and frequently falling short. But he picks himself up and just keeps on trying. The love and tenderness he has with his children and with Elizabeth is the mark of a true hero in my book. Watching the relationship between Guy and Elizabeth overcome the odds and flourish was a true reading pleasure.

Down-to-earth and rollicking!
Thought I would try a new author and was pleasantly surprized to find a real winner. This lady knows kids, understands single parenting and is able to convey the message of "blended" families. Just loved the comments on the sagging panty hose [the necessary bane of polite society]. The blurb in front says she lives in SW, but she knows Michigan. Very realistic. However, it was truly a romance. Looking forward to reading her books in 2000.

easy teaching method
I really enjoyed this book on enameling. I have always wanted to get involved with this art, but I was concerned that I wouldn't understand any of the terms or processes. I found the book easy to find answers to my questions as I progressed with any steps. I have the opportunity to see many different techniques so I can make decisions on the style I want to use. Keep up the great work - I wish there were books up to this quality level in all the arts!

Read more about the book
The Art of Fine Enameling is not just for practicing enamelists, it is for the collector and art lover, too, as the book includes so many beautiful photos and easy to read descriptions of the major enamleing techniques. As a how-to book, it is for both the beginner and the more skilled enamelist and works well as a text book because of it's easy to read desciptions and it's comprehensive troubleshooting section.

You can read more about the book at
http://www.kcEnamels.com/enamel_book
which lists the Table of Contents, shows you each of the project pieces, includes some additions to the book like a list of photo references of each artist's plate in the book and more.

Review from the Enamel Guild/South Newsletter - Dec 2002
Seldom am I so impressed by a book that I feel you absolutely must have it, but I can't imagine anyone interested in enameling not having it. This hardcover book contains 160 fully packed high quality pages with 423 color plates and 13 demonstrative sketches. Twenty artists have contributed a wealth of knowledge on their own unique variations of enameling techniques. The projects are: Basse Taille created by etching with natural elements by Ingrid Regula; Champlevé by Katharine Wood; a Cloisonné Brooch created directly in the setting by Karen L. Cohen; Decals and applications of other embellishments by June Jasen; Fusion Inlay Under Enamel by Charles Lewton-Brain; Ginbari Foil Embossing by Coral Shaffer; Grisaille by D.X. Ross; an amazing 8 page mosaic Limoges project by Ora Kuller; Liquid Enamel and Glass Ball Additives by Judy Stone; Minimal Firing (2-3 firings) Enameling by Averill Shepps; Mounting large enamel installations by Marian Slepian; Plique-`a-jour Pierced-heart Pendant by Diane Almeyda; Raku-fired Bowl by Jean Tudor; Separation Enameling by Tom Ellis; Sgraffito Plate and Stenciled Tile by Sally Wright; Silk Screen for Enameling by Ute Conrad; Stone Setting Within an Enamel by Dee Fontans; Torch-altered Metal with Cheesecloth Stencil by Roxane Riva; Torch-fired Beads by Aileen Geddes; and Vessel Forms - how to successfully enamel vertical surfaces - by Sarah Perkins. Additionally, there are Photo Galleries scattered throughout the book representing another 51 of the finest enamelists, with a total of 71 represented in the book.

Each chapter is laid out beautifully and clearly: Tools, Materials, a short overview, Metalwork, Enameling, and Finishing, each in numbered steps. A highlighted box prior to the overview lists Techniques to Know with page references to instructions covered at the beginning of the book. Another lists colors needed to replicate the project as illustrated. "Notes" throughout include helpful hints such as how to avoid problems with a specific instruction, or special touches the author might add at this point. "Tips" include where to find specific tools or supplies. The 3" margin is filled with clear step-by step photos.

The book opens with a brief history and then a complete glossary of terms, techniques and tools used in the book. I thought it brilliant to place these terms first as an integral part of the book instead of an afterthought at the back. The Enamelists' Tool Kit was not just a complete list of everything you could need, but warnings and instructions on how to maintain a safe studio - also important information before jumping headfirst into a project.

The section on Enameling Application covered every possibility, including tools, with referrals to project pages, and firing, including supports, heat sources and their care. Studio Basics, Tips and Tricks included where to scavenge tools, when to high fire, and excellent photos of the four stages of firing. Cohen clarifies the 6 grades of sifting and when to use each with a fine chart. Her helpful hints throughout, such as capturing silt with coffee filters when washing enamels, are wonderful and highlighted so they are easy to spot. She continues with sections on test firing and color analysis, computer-aided designs, metal patterning, soldering/fusing, metal preparation, wirework, basic enamel applications, foil application, finishing , metal finishing, and mounting. Then she added a miscellaneous section, in case she forgot anything. There are 31 tips in these sections alone. Written by Cohen, this information is referred to in every chapter in the highlighted "Techniques to Know" boxes. The final chapter confronts 14 common enameling problems with 56 possible causes and solutions.

This book is overwhelmingly well- organized and leaves out nothing. The artists represented are amongst the best and so are their projects, which can be created in any studio. It's a treasure. It belongs in every studio and every school. Don't miss it!

Miracle working pain relieving positions...
This book has suggestions for both neck and back pain. If your pain is so severe you have trouble with everyday tasks or functioning as I did when I first got this I highly recommend this for you. It has continued to help me with moderate to slight back pains as well as helping me not to throw my back out again. I would also suggest that you get an electric massager with a long enough handle to massage the muscle spasms away and also try floating in a swimming pool (get a cheap membership at the YMCA!) because it will really help to relieve the pressure causing the pain. Other items I found helpful in my recovery are "AM Yoga" with Rodney Yee and "Stress Relief Yoga" with Suzanne Deason.

Back Pain Book
This guy really knows his stuff!! It's as if he's there talking you through your back pain problem. Thanks for the help!!

This is a really good, easy to understand book.
Wow. I can't believe how easy this book was to read and follow. The illustrations make it simple to be sure you're doing the exercises the right way, which is so important when you're dealing with back and/or neck pain. The text covers immediate pain relief, good moves/bad moves for everyday activities, and strategic exercises for long term improvement. The really great thing about this book is that is was written by a Physical Therapist with real hands on experience in working with people with back problems, so you know the recommendations and exercise program are sound. My only regret is that it doesn't have a companion video, which would be neat; and my only complaint is that the book does not lay flat when you want to keep it open to a particular page while you do the exercises. Otherwise, I highly recommend it!

The most useful cookbook ever
Many cookbooks are tempting to read but impractical to cook from every day. This one on the other hand is full of fast, easy, and delicious recipies that are great for kids and adults. I have never made anything from this book that didn't dissapear at the table; the microwave carmel corn is especially good. This is an outstanding book to get for your self or to give as a gift to any mom or dad.

THE BEST COOKBOOK EVER!!
All I have to say is I love this book! It is so easy to follow and the ingredients in every recipie are so practical. Most cook books have 5o ingredients and are so complicated. This one is simple, to the point and great for kids and adults alike. And most of the recipies take less than an hour!!

The BEST cookbook for families!
I flipped through a copy of this book at one of my MOPS meetings, and went right out and bought it. That night I decided to "doggie-ear" the corners of the pages of the recipes I would like to try! There were only about 10 recipes I didn't!! Everything I have made from this book has been what my husband calls a "keeper". There are also practical solutions on how your child can help you prepare meals, and what to do about picky eaters, etc. I HIGHLY recommend this cookbook.

Tragedy to Triumph...a story of heart determination & love
Karen's story of her rehab, recovery, and amazing strength inspire us all. She is a true hero. A touching and heart-wrenching story told in her own words hits home and reminds you of whats really important in life. A great friend, person, athlete, and author tells her story of overcoming all odds and surviving. The only thing better is Karen herself.

very interesting book - highs and lows of recovering
Karen's book shows us the difficulties of rehabilitation, and finding knowledgeable professional treatment in this field. It was interesting to learn how family and friend relationships are affected by these accidents

A Heart-Warming, Inspirational Message of Finding Hope
This book is very well written. The author expresses her deepest emotions as she relays the story of her journey of recovery from a traumatic brain injury. I cried, laughed, felt as though on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. I couldn't put the book down. It was a heart-warming experience to read how an individual overcomes tragedy and turns it into an opportunity to reach out and help others. Her faith in God surely carried her through this journey, com- forting and protecting her, even when she was on the edge of giving up. This book is as inspirational as any of the Joni Erickson books I have read. The message is clear...there is always hope.

Great new children's book, all about bears!
"Born to be Wild" is an excellent new children's book that people of all ages will enjoy. It is extremely informative while being engaging and interactive at the same time. The excellent organization and amazing photography make it a pleasure to read and accessible to a wide range of readers. Many of the poses in which Mr. Ward has captured the bears are simply delightful. The reader comes away with not only new knowledge, but a greater appreciation of bears.

Born to Be Wild...A "Beary " good book!
Born to Be Wild is a wonderful book for children of all ages. Young children will be entranced by pictures of frolicking polar bear cubs and grizzly bear antics, as they listen to touching stories. What parent or child can resist a tender moment between a mother bear and her cubs?
For the independent reader, this book offers clear narrative and a helpful glossary. The format is interactive, as the authors have not only included substantial information about all kinds of bears, but photo captions that invite young readers to think and reflect.
I have found Born to Be Wild to be an invaluable resource for research projects and quiet reading time in my classroom. My students all fell in love with the endearing tale of Ferosha, an orphaned polar bear cub that makes her way into the author's hearts.
In these days of digitally altered photos and phony news stories, it is refreshing to find these photographers/authors attained all their photos the old-fashioned way: with hard work, dedication and artistic talent. I highly recommend this book to any bear lover, young or old.

Born to Be Wild: Bears
We're so glad this book has come out in hard back and better yet it has been`expanded. Its fun for kids of all ages, written with humor and includes lots of interesting facts about the animals, and as usual the Wards photography is outstanding. We highly recommend it.

Simply Hilarious!
Here are just a few of the "reviews" I get every day from the children I work with about "Brain Cell":

"Read it again! Read it again!" "Wave at the waves!" "Eww, don't eat jellyfish! Gross!" "The sheep is getting wet! Watch out! Splash!" "Christy, get the funny story!"

The children love this book! The simple pictures and easy-to-read rhymes make it fun for them to look at and hear as well as enjoyable for me to read out loud. I still cannot get through it without laughing and I think that's one of the reasons the kids like it so much! "Brain Cell" is fun for the pure sake of being just that, fun!

One of the cutest little books around
A strange little book, I only bought it because my two year old bit it in the store, and it has been a real treasure. This little boy who loves cars, trucks, and tools more than anything adored this book above all others. It keeps him interested in reading, and the pictures make him giggle. A true gem.

My one year olds favorite book!
Hoping my granddaughter would like to read as much as her mother we purchased all types of books, including this book with such an unlikely title, to trigger the interest of an infant.

Lovely colors and heavy pages make it easy for her to handle. Brief "story" line make it easy to read over and over and ..... We plan to buy more by these people.

I had to mail it to her home when it was accidently left behind.

At 18 months other books are appealing to her but "Brian Cell" was the first.
