Beautifully Written
This book was incredible, for lack of a better word. I loved it so much I shared it with all 14 of my nieces and nephews, my mother in law, and my fiance. The entire book is a play on words, keeping the reader's attention on every page with bright, catchy illustrations. I recommend this book to anyone with children, no matter what their age is. This is by far my favorite story book since Peter Cottontail.

Delightful song parodies
T.K., of Fugs fame, wrote this astounding volume of extremely offensive song parodies, a cross between Mad Magazine & the new left. And there are even a few songs that aren't completely dated.

the most whimsical patterns I have seen.
The varieties of the patterns were tremendous from the pencil holder to the desksets. I was amazed at how many items were gorgously done into things used everyday in our lives. It makes also want the other books to match this book. Other recommendations are gifts galore in plastic canvas book 4.

Babies love Baby Tweety
This is a wonderful introduction to books for babies. My children loved me to read it to them but they also loved to look at it themselves when in their cribs, as well as sleep with the plush Tweety attached to the book. It's a keeper for their memory boxes.

Mel Bay Presents the Bill Guest Anthology of Fiddle Tunes
Published in Paperback by Mel Bay Publications (1985)
Amazon base price: $
Average review score:

Unique and Melodious
Bill Guest and other featured song writers in this book present a style of music which is fun to play and pleasing to the listener. Trills, slurs and slides embellish the music and provide a challenge for the hobby fiddlist. The CD available with the book helps the fiddler hear the distinct Bill Guest style. As usual, Mel Bay provides another great collection of music.

The Mozart Effect Music for Children, Volume 1: Tune Up Your Mind (CGM84291)

Extremely Enjoyable!
At first I kind of rolled my eyes at this one. Yes, I'd heard all about how classical music can help increase children's intelligence, but I wasn't terribly interested in upping my daughter's IQ (she's only 9 months old!) But then we listened to this CD and she loved it--grinning and moving to the music from the very first notes. My husband and I enjoyed it too. This is the first of three volumes of Mozart music for kids, and it is specifically designed to enhance IQ, inspire creativity, and provide a rich listening and learning experience for children of all ages. It's extremely enjoyable to listen to, and if it happens to inspire kids both intellectually and creatively, all the better. We now play this CD all the time because we really like listening to it.

Murder Out of Tune

Amazon base price: $4.50
Used price: $0.75
Collectible price: $2.12

Exciting Muder Story
This book is a must read for anyone who enjoys an interesting an exciting murder story. The book is about an aging, unsuccessful actor who exacts revenge on anyone who denigrates his abilities (including a former agent). Anyone who works or aspires to work in the entertainment industry should enjoy this book as much as diehard murder mystery fans will. One note of caution is that the book is written in British English and some of the British version of words may give American readers trouble.

Love It!
This is a very wonderful book for children of all races and ages (from ages 0 to 100), speaking form a child care provider's point of view. All "my" children (at home and in day care) love both the songs and the pictures, all though I think I enjoy it more, brings back so many memories. This is a "must have book" and cassette!!

The Norman Blake Anthology: Deluxe Edition of Original Songs & Tunes by Old Time Country Musician Norman Blake
Published in Spiral-bound by Mel Bay Publications (1999)
Author: Steve Kaufman
Amazon base price: $17.47
List price: $24.95 (that's 30% off!)

Norman for Everyone
This book is very accessible.

For each tune presented, it gives first the guitar chords and melody (including a TAB rendition of the melody), then the complete lyrics, then the guitar TAB. This allows you to play the song at any level of complexity you like, up to Norman's own, without requiring of you the ability to read standard musical notation.

The spiral binding allows the book to lie flat when open, making it physically very easy to use.

Throughout there are photos of Norman, Nancy and friends, making the book an aesthetic delight.

The pieces transcribed include a selection from throughout Blake's career, and both songs and instrumental pieces. They are: '76 Blues (+2); Back in Yonder's World; Billy Grey; Blake's Railroad Blues; Charlie Gaither; Chattanooga Rag; Chattanooga Sugar Babe; Church Street Blues; Crossing No. 9; Down At Milo's House; Ginsing Sullivan; Green Light On The Southern; Greycoat Soldiers; The Highland Light; In The Spring Of The Year; Jimmy, John and James; Lincoln's Funeral Train (The Sad Journey To Springfield); Lonesome Jenny; Macon Rag; My Old Home On The Green Mountain Side; Ol' Bill Miner (The Gentleman Bandit); Old Ghost's Cry; Old Time Farmer; On And On And On; Paramount Rag; The Railroad Days; Randall Collins; Ridge Road Gravel; Savannah Rag; Slow Train Through Georgia; Southern Railroad Blues; Uncle Sam; The Weathered Old Caboose Behind The Train; We're Living In The Future; Whiskey Deaf and Whiskey Blind; Last Train From Poor Valley; Uncle; Tin Foil And Stone.

Enjoy.
