a rich source of anecdotes
This is based on interviews with 75 contemporary musicians, mostly rock and pop, including Eric Clapton, the Beatles, Branford Marsalis, and others. It's an excellent source of anecdotes about musical creativity, including peak experiences and the use of drugs.

Introduction & Illustrations Enhance the Reading
6/3/03 The amazon editorial review listing of the celebrities , (plus the celebrities listed on the back jacket which they did not include(Wally Amos,Pat Boone,Soupy Sales, The Amazing Kreskin, Fred Rogers ,plus about 10 others (incl of Dick Martin)make it a book that many will purchase without even browsing(I borrowed it based on the well illustrated jacket)....The ordinary people give "much food for thought"(although I could not find the one written by the former mayor of Pittsburg...,many have stopped to 'smell the roses'..many have become the workholic that they felt retirement's funds and funs would rid them the addiction of...then there's Sofia Gelman(Pg 152)a retired neurologist 's whose poem begins "Don't laugh at me,I'm taking classes at the police academy,Imagine me in my 70's, Still eager to fulfill my life motto'Not to miss' ,which was the next profile after a quote from Mark Twain: "Wrinkles should merely indicate where the smiles have been".

Millbrooks Psychedelic Prankster
Timothy Leary was a unique American to say the least. As a longtime fan of Sixties psychedelic rock and Beat literature, It stood to reason that I would find my way to Timothy Leary. This book is an amusing collection of lectures and tales from the High Priest of LSD. I found Leary to be a very humorous writer but he does take liberties with the facts. He misquotes the the Four Noble Truths of the Buddha, for example. This book has to be read with a grain of salt. I think Leary intended it this way. It would be terribly insulting to ones intelligence if he didnt. His intelligence and humor do shine through however. I would state that this book should probably be only read for entertainment by those of us who have a bias towards certain experiences that Leary espouses in his book. A real good read but definitely not for everyone.

the usborne book of easy piano tunes
I was attempting to teach my eight year old son beginning piano with this book. He said, 'I think it's too hard for beginners'. I concur, as alot of information is squeezed in to each page, and no guidance is given as to how long a person should practice each song. However, the illustrations are funny and informative. This book would probablly be helpful to someone with a little background in piano.

Pretty Disappointing...
The title of this book is "How to Tune and Modify Bosch Fuel Injection". Well, is says almost nothing about modifying and tuning. Most of the content is about how the Bosch fuel injection works, and the differeces between the various models, but again, not what I was looking for...

many good points and information for the beginer
Many good points and lots of information and specifications for all bosch systems. From the earliest VW systems to the latest. The modify section is short and lacks greatly. Ben Watson says almost nothing about modifing anything.

THERE ARE BETTER BOOKS THAN THIS ONE
This book's title should be "HOW BOSCH FUEL INJECTION WORKS". There are very few ideas on how to modify your bosch fuel injection. The book explains how the fuel injection works and give some data on fuel injection systems installed in some cars. I have also bought other book: "Bosch Fuel Injection and Engine Management" that is definitely a better, more comprehensive, more descriptive book. Although there is just one thing that this book has, that "Bosch Fuel Injection and Engine Management" doesn't: how to tune the volumetric air flow meter. Ben Watson(the author) knows very well what he is talking about, so he doesn't bother explaining deep enough how every piece work. You better buy "Bosch Fuel Injection and Engine Management" by Charles O. Probst.

Don't even bother
I have an older Saab and decided to get a repair manual for it. This one was a major dissapointment. All electrical and vacuum diagrams are left out. Their reasoning for this is that there is too much to list. However, Chilton incorporates this information into their books on newer cars (such as the Chevy Lumina) that are far more complicated. Some of the pictures are also very vague. I found myself guessing at some of the torque specs, since I have a 16-valve engine and this is written mainly for the 8-valve. This book also tends to over-complicate some items, while over-simplifying others. I don't recommend this book unless all you want to do is change your oil and spark plugs. Anything more complicated, and you're better off going with the Bentley manual (if you can find one) or the offical Saab manual.

Proper Use of Chilton's Manuals
While I can appreciate the statements in the first review, I don't think they are entirely accurate or fair. For one thing, one MUST use the correct manual for a given car. The writer was misusing the book if he/she was taking torque specs and guessing at the correct ones for a different engine. The statement that this book is not complete is also true, but one should realize that it is impossible to cover every wire and bolt in less than 200 pages. For that, as that person had suggested, I would recommend the more expensive, but also more comprehensive, manuals offered. I have used these manuals for years, and they do have their place.

title misleading
In the section on modifying, this book says you can't modify. Great! Thanks! What a waste. Don't buy this book. Send me email, you can have mine for free.

Doesn't live up to the title
From the title, I was expecting a hands-on guide to hop-ups and modifications to Chrysler EFI systems. There are NONE, however. Not a bad guide to initiate someone into the world of Mopar EFI systems, but the title is terribly misleading! It's just a troubleshooting and shop manual. Period. And the factory year-specific manuals are way better.

Bad Title, good book
Understanding and Maintaining your Chrysler Fuel Injection.
That should be the name of this book. If you want a book that really explains how Chrysler fuel injection systems work, in a fairly straigtforward manner - then this is a good book. Has a good section on how to approach fixing your car based upon which error codes you are getting.

Too easy
Hal-Leonard has 5 different books called "The Charlie Brown Collection" and this one is supposed to be the most difficult. It's still easy and simplified; a lot different of what we are used to listen (David Benoit playing, for example). It's disapointing...

There are better manuals for Saab
While I can certainly appreciate the effort that goes into researching repair manuals, the Chilton books for Saab are too general to be used as anything but backup for other manuals. For the 99, the best choice is the factory Service Manual (#0314948 - very difficult to locate) followed closely by Haynes (#247 US).
