Other than the factory service manuals, this is the best, and possibly only, manual that covers the 2-stroke models. In addition it there is a chapter that includes the factory recommendations for performance tuning, plus a list of high performance pieces that used to be available through the Saab dealers.

A worthy addition to the library of a Vintage Saab enthusiast.

This book is an excellent source of imformation for the repair and maintence of older Celicas and Supras. The only drawback is that it covers such a wide range of years and models that it can be difficult to locate information pertaining to a specific year/model. This book is useful for amateur mechanics or anyone who just wants to save some money on car repairs.

This book is virtually the only source of tune-up and repair information written in US-English by people who speak US-English. It covers many pre L-series Datsuns, including the 1200cc pickups (sorry, doesn't cover the 1959-1960 48hp series), 1300cc pickups (pre-1968), 410/411, Nissan Patrol, and 1500/1600/2000 Roadsters. If you're looking for repair info on the 510, 240Z, or 1968-1972 Pickup, I'd look elsewhere. Each car is covered in brief, with step-by-step instructions for such things as removing the engine, replacing the clutch, etc., but since it covers so much, a book dedicated to the more popular later cars would be a better source.

I hope this book is still available, as it got me through many repairs to the 1967 RL411 (Bluebird) that I bought in 1986.

I've used a lot of manuals over the past 35 years. to be totally ownest all i wanted to do is look up a few spec's before i got to the shop to save a little time, and now i'm commentting on a book that i have yet to read. Typing from experiance. Motors, Mitchel, and chilton are all about dead even with there information. But i think that as far as the labor guide goes chilton is the prefrence for me personaly. But there is room for improvement. This is my guesstament. they get there times from cars that are clean and not driven by a varitey of people. i found the instuction very easy to read.... and the illustration very easy to follow.... being a woman and unfamilar to cars i was impressed with the troubleshooting guide and the step by step iliminations examples thank you for making this book as acurated in detail as you did with breakdown illustrations ... thanks again victoria moran

Forget the other how-to books--if you have a 1970 through 1974 Volkswagen of any type, this is the book you need! Too bad it's out of print. It has the best collection of text, photos, and drawings of any VW guide. Look for the hardcover.

With this book in hand, I have been able to do 80% of my own repairs for more than 10 years. I feel the Volare will last another 10 years.

Show me more !! A little short on the technical side. Good for a basic understanding of your cars complex internals. Not much help on the shop floor. It does however, teach you one thing. Find an experienced mechanic !!! These beasts will twist and tangle even the most proficient and experienced import mechanics.
