Gene Cloning

The book was splendid!
I think the main reason of reading this book is because this is my chosen research problem. It's very interesting to know that cloning is one of the breakthroughs of today's technology.

Finally, the book I was looking for!
I only wish I had found this book BEFORE I started Grad School. The author actually goes out of his way to be uncomplicated, which is unusual. If you want a quick but comprehensive overview of this fast-moving field, then this is the book for you.

The must "how to" book for relationships, great group tool.
I have nothing but praise for the content and practicality of Terrence Gorski's book.I have recently started to use his book as a tool in my weekly groups on relationships, in a residential rehab addiction facility. Terrencce Gorski gets to the heart of relationships and how to rethink old behaviors which have led to bad ones. The partners of my clients have bought the book once my clients start the group. They are reccomending it to their friends and family. "Getting Love Right" is changing their relationships and bringing families back together. I reccomend it highly and will continue to use it as the basis of my releationship groups.

Know a good relationship when you see one.
This realistic look at any relationship is a must for everyone. As a counselor I use it as a tool for groups, and individual counselor. However, the content applies to anyone in, or begining a relationship on any level. I have bought several copies for friends and family, and probably will buy more. I recommend it highly for parents to share with their children as a guideline for revealing the components of a good or bad relationship. Not just for those who have an addiction. Easy read, profound content.

The single best golf travel book ever written
As an avid golfer and golf book reader, I can honestly say this is the best golf travel book I have ever read. Very informative, wide-ranging, and brilliantly accurate. Can't wait for a new edition!! I've memorized this one.

Great degree of accuracy
After just returning from a wonderful vacation playing golf for a week on the Monteray Peninsula, I can tell you that the reviews contained in this book for all of the peninsula's courses are right on the mark (both positive and negative). The text is coversational and the advice/recommendations are very good. Keep in mind though, the courses and facilities recommended are not necessarily for the bargain golfer - but then again, they have reviewed some of the most beautiful and well renowned courses in the world. I highly recommend this book - it is a very conversational read and contains lots of great stories. It is a very useful guide for investigating and planning golf vacations around the world.

A True Pleasure
I highly recommend this book to anyone, even those with no interest at all in falconry. The author is so skilled and talented that I'd say that he could write an entertaining piece about paint drying. Enjoy!!

Great book.
Mr. White describes his experiences with training a goshawk for falconry. He has no guidance beyond an ancient manuscript and things go horribly awry. An outstanding book, a pleasure to read. Also an example of why current US regulations require a falconry apprenticeship period.

Excellent Synthesis
This book is intended as a synthesis of information on the Inca state. Written both as an introductory book for the broad reading public and as a benchmark for scholars, this book distills historical, archaeologic, and ethnographic information into a single nicely organized and written volume. D'Altroy, an archaeologist who has worked extensively in the Andes, covers the prehistory and history of the Inca state, its social and political organization, its religous ideology, and its material culture. The judicious use of historic sources, largely post-Spanish conquest writings, combined with archaeologically derived information is excellent. The writing is free of academic jargon and D'Altroy provides a comparative perspective by sparing but insightful comparisons with other pre-modern empires. It is difficult to write a book that will be interesting to general readers and useful to scholars but D'Altroy has done an excellent job of serving two masters. I've read other books on the Incas and this is beyond question the best single volume on this topic.

Best overview currently available
Incorporating much of the most recent research into Inca history and society, Terence D'Altroy's work is undoubtedly the best (and most readable!) of the serious introductory texts in the field. He covers the various aspects clearly and thoroughly, elucidating the complexities of the historical narrative, social organisation, and economic production, alongside information on ritual practice, accounting methods, architecture and geography. We are given a synthesis of modern research, together with an awareness of how much remains to be understood, such the _khipu_ rope-knotting techniques that the Incas used to record the movement of goods and transmit laws.

There is a wealth of black-and-white photographs and near-contemporary illustrations, and D'Altroy makes extensive, judicious use of both archaeological finds and written sources (native and Spanish) from the decades immediately after the Conquest. The slant is primarily historical, and while - as with any study of Andean history - anthropological theory enters the picture, this is rather less jargon-filled and abstract than the average ethnographic study, but instead shows awareness of historical change and social evolution.

Extremely useful.

Sophisticated review of ID history
As an industrial designer, I highly recommend this book, not only because it gives a broad look at history of Industrial Design, but also because it uses very sophisticated and rich in expression language. I have read this book in French, but the English version is equally well written and is one of the few excellent sources of research information about ID available nowadays.

A MUST-HAVE..!!
Since I'm an Industrial Designer, I always looked for such a complete source. It's a must have for the designers, for the architects, and for anyone who's interested in.. The chapters, the layout, the graphics&pics are the best that I've ever seen. It's one of the most impressive book of my library.

Philosophical Rendezvous : Up From The Ashes

Thought-provoking!
Terence L. Bolden gives us a three part collection of poetry in Philosophical Rendezvous...Up from the Ashes. We are first introduced to the author in Part One with a series of love poems that are beautiful, soul-stirring, and elevate one's mind to the joy and happiness of being in love and having someone to love.

Part Two takes us on life's journey moving from one event to another from the beginning of time and capturing the essence of family. Bolden concludes with Part Three which details the personal enlightenment of one who begins to understand the value of life and the relationships you have with others.

Bolden has given us an extraordinary collection of poetry that will stick with you well after you've finished reading. Some of my favorites were, "The Walking Rose," "The Confession," "Liquid Sunshine," "Love Knows No Dimensions," and finally, "The Purpose of Pain." He also closes the books with a selection of Quotables that are also thought-provoking and most definitely quotes that you'll want to remember and share with others. You MUST pick this one up!

Expression at its Best!
Take a moment to relax, put your feet up, sit by a nice romantic fire or a calming ocean and enjoy a wonderful collection of poetry. Philosophical Rendezvous...Up From The Ashes by Terence L. Bolden is an awesome collection of poetry that will make you smile, intellectually digest, relate and enjoy.

Mr. Bolden's book of poems are separated in three parts.

Part I -Love Notes, takes you on a romantic poetic journey to enjoy the essence of love, defining love and being in love. Who could not enjoy reading selections dedicated to the oneness of love and togetherness? My favorite poem is "The Walking Rose." It's so beautifully crafted that I know you will enjoy it among his other selections.

Part II -Life's Journey, is Mr. Bolden's ultimate expression of where we come from, where we're at and where we're going. It's a person's true intellect in expressing himself from within. One of his selection's titled "Our Story" sends out a strong message. My favorite poem in this section is "Rise Above The Clouds."

Part III -Personal Englightenment, is very deep in substance. This was one of my favorite sections with so much to take within, think about, and enjoy.

Overall, Terence L. Bolden has written an excellent book of poetry. He's a wonderful poet. He presents to you a very unique and positive approach to expressing one's self through poetry. If you are a poetry lover you will definitely enjoy this book. I applaud him and graciously give Philosophical Rendezvous...Up From The Ashes a rating of 5.

Great Book!
My 10th grade Humanities class is reading selections from the text of the first edition of this book. I've loved what I have read. Probably no other book explains Ideologies better than this book. I've learned about such things as facism, liberalism, and socialism easily.

This is a great book. I give it FIVE STARS!

PS Check out the reader version of this book that has selected readings from people like Locke, Marx, and Hitler, this book is excellent.

A Super Textbook on Ideology
This is a superb textbook. I used it in teaching ideology in upper division and lower division classes. Students find it accessible. Yet the book has the nuance and sophistication that are rare for a textbook. I higly recommend this book not just to those who teach ideology or poltical philosophy, but to any political scientist or historian.
