Great for 1st years
This is a great resource for first year medical students who want to develop a good basic understanding of biochemistry in the clinical setting. I have been using this text/atlas a great deal as a good tool to get a quick idea of topics (which are actually written in quite good depth) and then to bring concepts together. If you like to learn through pictures and diagrams, then this is a must have!

Clyde : Now a "Living Legacy" as the author sings his songs.
This book should be of interest to those persons who are interested in knowing more about the "History of Rhythm and Blues", and those who have an interest in contemporary music "development". The author, who is also the inventor and producer of "The Record Clock" (a clock attached to a 12" LP), had influence with the creation of the Grammy Awards, "Gospel" category, as history should reveal that he communicated with the Grammy Awards Committee and Hollywood, CA producers, describing his hometown as the "Hometown of McPhatter" and "Shirley Caesar" (latter, a Grammy Award winner). His "Record Clock" is presently displayed in the N.Y. corporate office of Motown Corporation. Pictorial representations of this "Record Clock" (Retail: $99) have been included in this book since its first publication.

Presently(l998), the author is developing the "Rap-ture" category of musi! c and is involving Clyde's musical contribution in this category. "Cyde McPhatter: Durham, NC- Michael Jackson's U.S.A. Roots" Retail Price- $l9.95 + Surcharge.

A Perfect Story
Tom Jared is tired out from long months in space as the telepath in a first contact party. He picks a world that was only visited once long ago to take a vacation. He sets down on the half of the planet that is not inhabited. He soon discovers that it is inhabited by a very gentle humanoid amphibian species when one jumps in his little rubber raft. They are able to communicate telepathically. Tom soon learns that this creature's name is Kamir and that she is a female. She is very beautiful by human standards. Tom learns that she is considered ugly by her people because she is too skinny. They fall in love almost instantly. Tom and Kamir spent many days being together and traveling from island to island. Kamir thought that she would never find a husband because she was so ugly. She is very happy and so is Tom. All too soon Kamir's brother tracks them down and asks them to return to the village.

I gave this book a 99 out of 100 on my personal ranking scale. The only point I took off was for the ending. This was such a wonderful story, I guess I wanted it to have a happier ending. But if it did, it might not be as great as it is. I really liked the love story themes. They are at many levels really. Tom falls in love first with Kamir, then her people and finally the entire planet. He breaks all the Federation's Rules of Contact in order to save them.

The story is very short being only 76 pages long, but it feels so much longer. I find myself wishing that there was a part two.

James Tiptree Jr. is a pen name for Alice B. Sheldon. She used a male name to get her Science Fiction Published. The appears to be an older story that was finally printed in 1990.

The title should read CREATED SUPERIOR!
To be Black and to succeed in North America meant to suceed against all odds. Those Blacks; therefore, were far ahead of anyone not so siimilarly situated, ergo, the title of this book should have read Created Superior.

The story of the Songhai People chronicles the history of Africa eons before the invasions from Asians and Europeons. This is important to relate because at that time in history, Black people were the leaders in education, the arts and science. People came from around the world and sat at their feet in hope of gaining some of their knowledge. In the 13th century, the beautiful city of Jenne (the one with 12 gates into the city alalulah) was founded. Similar cities like
Timbuktu (Sankora University), Goa and Walata preceded Jenne as the centers for education.

Enter the invasions from the north (Asia and Europe) then enter their inflictions of BRAINWASHING and slavery which brought some of Africa's best and brightest to these American shores and you have the mental fiber from which many inventions were created. Some of the inventions presented in Created Equal, no doubt, were developed by people who were in the Imhotep (who was the true father of medicine) lineage and various other great African educators, artists and inventors lineage.

The book, Created Equal, talks about how difficult it had to have been to have had their inventions and discoveries stolen from African Americans. But, what this book also shows is that inspite of all that was done to keep Black people down, their genius overrode it all and they surfaced the winner over and over again.

What the book should have stated was that Blacks in America, since he beginning of time, has fought in every war that the US has participated in and has been the winning force in most of them. Blacks fought in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the war against the American Indians, the Boston Massacre, World wars I and II, the Korean war, the Vietnam war the Desert Storm war and now the war in Afghanstan. Even as this ink dries, Blacks are still striving to improve their lot by still participating in fights for freedom in hope that they will earn entitlement. The Black race is plagued with America's intent to keep them as second class citizens but America will have to accept the fact that nothing will keep them down as they are truly CREATED SUPERIOR and this book Created Equal is just an example of how Blacks will show their SUPERIORITY.

Excellent detailing
This book is yet one of my most favorites. The detailing of this fine writen book makes you actually not want to put it down once you start to read it. The movie is wonderful, but the book takes you to the next level that the movie leaves out.

So if you are a person who craves more detailing in an action and adventure, this is the book for you. No lie, you will not be disapointed. Take my word for it.

A unique look at relationships formed online.
This is one of the only books available that addresses this issue. Many people form transient and very fulfilling cyber relationships, but I have not seen a book devoted to those relationships and what impact they have, both on the cyber parties involved and their families and friends. CybeRelations looks at those strange, wonderful, fast-moving 'affairs of the keyboard' in a humorous and exposing light. I enjoyed reading and re-reading certain chapters, and would really like to know what happened to most of these people. Thanks should go to both authors, Daniel and Kathleen, for taking what appears to be an enourmous amount of time putting this book together.

Great read! Davy is a corker!
Some have complained, over the years, that this book was more novel than biography. Okay, then... what a great NOVEL! This was in my elementary school library in Elgin, AZ, and if I'd studied my textbooks like I studied this, I might have been a MONSTER! Connie Roarke made a great book, and I bless her name for it!

BONUS: Read how Davy was a true Small-government conservative in the Jacksonian (read that "Proto-Clintonian") big-government epoch! It's the true hero tale of the book!
