excellent commentary on SOS with practical applications
This is an excellent book that looks at the book of Songs of Solomon in the bible and gives a clear, understandable commentary. Couple that with the author's own insight, and practical applications it has the power to change your views on the book of Song of Solomon and your marriage. With doses of humour and keen insights this book is a must for every married couple.

A test of family values.
The Solomon Organization is a truly fast moving thriller that the reader does not want to end. With all of the divorces today the reader can find a common ground with Scott Lester. This novel brings family values to the test and makes the reader wonder how far family values should go. This up-to-the-minute thriller keeps the reader horrified of what will happen next. A great read that will not let you down. A true winner from begining to end.

Uncommon sense
A very readable book whose treasure is the ancient but timeless wisdom of King Solomon. If a jerk is always giving you advice, should you listen? Is fear of God a good thing? You have been treated unfairly and are angry, what should you do? This book applies biblical principles to answer these and many other questions relevant in today's world.

This was the first book I have read by Robert Jeffress. I am now looking forward to reading some of his other books.

Biblical Investing Rules Make Practical Sense
What a breath of fresh air in clear and concise writing in the usual investobable jargon world of investing that loses me everytime. Mr. Peterson extracts a coherent set of the foundations and implementation of good solid everyday investing -- that really work. I liked his ability to take excerpts from the Bible and explain them in bite size 'chapters' of 1-3 pages. The discussions on risk management and how to understand risk really opened my eyes to what questions I should seek for better investing instead of pursuing the goal of returns, returns, returns. All I can say is I really enjoyed it and am using it and would like to see more.

The book is a biblical love story magnified greatly!
Hello, I would just like to comment on one of greatest books I have ever read in my life. An old friend gave my this book to read one day to give me a better look on what love, romance and passion is in a relationship between two people that love each other inspite of culture, destiny and tradition. I was so blessed by this book that I made a copy of the whole book (laugh). the book as that book. I am a 23 and married to a wonderful husband and we are going to go into evangelism but, this book has really touched my heart and it's great to read a love story that is in the word of God come to life. I hope you enjoy this book because I really did.

Solomon's Vineyard
Published in Hardcover by Chivers Press Ltd (1992)
Author: Jonathan Latimer
Amazon base price: $
Average review score:

Last man standing indeed.
Dashiell Hammett did the "lone man against a corrupt, evil, violent town" scenario first in the great classic RED HARVEST, but I'm not sure he did it better than Latimer did in this hard boiled noir story that was so hot that the unexpurgated version couldn't be published in the US for almost 40 years. Lone wolf PI Karl Craven comes to town to finish a job and revenge the death of his partner. Along the way there's a lot of steamy sex and gratuitous violence. Hard to believe this was written in the 40's. It certainly reads like a modern day thriller in lots of ways.

Hammett and Chandler and Latimer and the rest of the detective story writers of the pulp era basically brought the western and mythological motifs of the lone warrior/wanderer defying tremendous odds and assorted enemies to the urban and rural streets of America in the 1920's and 30's and did it so well that it has never been surpassed. Some modern day writers are in the same league, such as Pelecanos, Crumley (at his best), Crais, etc. but none do it better. Fans of Latimer who have only read his screwball comedy mysteries about drunken PI Bill Crane will quite surprised by this tough story, which is probably one of the 10 best hard boiled tales of all time.

A definite 5 stars, would be a 6 if I could.

Solomon: Falcon of Sheba: The Tombs of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba Discovered
Published in Paperback by Edfu Books (13 March, 2003)
Author: Ralph Ellis

An exciting and breathtaking read
Solomon: Falcon Of Sheba by Ralph Ellis is an exciting and iconoclastic tour of Biblical history, archaeological evidence, and legend. The reader will acquire a significantly broader metaphysical understanding of Egypt's legendary monarchs in an exhaustive and complex study which draws the reader out along an amazing archaeological and historical trail concluding that real story of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba is not as we have commonly or traditionally known it. An exciting and breathtaking read, Solomon: Falcon Of Sheba is especially recommended to students of Biblical Archaeology. Also very highly recommended are two earlier works by Ralph Ellis: Jesus, Last Of The Pharaohs ...
