Naked Truths

No Hyperbole Here!
The average uninitiated reader will want to think that Ms Rubin's story is a bizarre exception to the US justice system.
Not so! My husband is in prison for a similar non-crime, and in many ways her story is our story- except for the ending. She is in the "free world," but she will never be the same or see our country in the same way.
All her naked truths are bitterly so, and readers should take them as a wake-up call. Not only in the area of over-interpreted photographs but in many other areas concerning "justice" and the law, we live in a third world country.
READ AND HEED!

qualitative analysis of evidence of violence against women
Marian Meyers used original research to document the cultural slavery women are subjected to when victims of male violence. She is innovative in her approach by using documented case studies to prove how the media puts women into their place in society. I applaud her for having the guts to write about this apathetic evil that continues to keep women from seeking help when in this situation. As long as women continue to ignore male manipulation of news( from a male societies personal perspective) we all suffer at the hands of scrupulous liars of misinterpretation of information and sterotyping of women.

It's a must for student and graduate nurses!
I started reading it and I couldn't put it down. Gives an excellent review of 50 years of progress in the nursing field. Ms. George has worked in Navaho Indian Reservations, a maximum security prision at Santa Fe, small 48 bed hospitals, as well as large medical centers in Florida and Washington, D.C. and Texas so she brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this subject.

I loved this book and the Treasure Quest Series.
As the third book in Marion Wells's Treasure Quest Series, _Out of the Crucible_ carries the series along well, resolving some problems that I had been anxious to see resolved since the first and second books, while leaving room for the story to progress in _Jewel of Promise_. This book takes place mainly in the West, in and around the Colorado Territory during the first year of the Civil War. Matthew Thomas, a recurring character introduced in _Silver Highway_ but absent in _Colorado Gold_, rethinks the decision he made in the heat of anger at the end of _The Silver Highway_. Hoping to change what he had done a year earlier, he leaves his parents' Mississippi plantation in the spring of 1861, unwilling to fight for the Confederacy. Before he gets far, however, he is pressed into Confederate service by thugs. This turns out for the best, as the forces he is with travel west into Texas and New Mexico, and we know from _Colorado Gold_ that his estranged wife, Crystal, has gone to Colorado with former preacher's wife turned dance hall girl Amelia Randolph. While Matthew and Crystal learn of each other's presence in the territory, and Matthew seeks to leave behind his unwilling Confederate service, Amelia and her daughter, Amy, become closer after years apart, and both women try fight lingering troubles in their own marriages and try to aid Matthew and Crystal. If you've read _Silver Highway_ (the copy of which I read said it was the first book, although the Amazon site lists the later-set _Colorado Gold_ as Book 1) and Colorado Gold_, then _Out of the Crucible_ will satisfy you and make you eager for the sequel, _Jewel of Promise_.

Not the 'How?', but rather the 'Why?'
Marian Green has been teaching in the Western Mystery Tradition for decades and has had students from a variety of countries and cultures. Her emphasis is on the solo magician rather than coven member, but her works can apply equally to both. For the 'How?', turn to "A Witch Alone". For the 'Why?', look no further than hereinabove: this book explains why the seeker experiences what s/he does and discusses this within the context of the labyrinth - a journey in which one enters very near to the 'centre' or 'source', before embarking on winding pathways that indeed may feature "dark nights of the soul" in the quest for one's own self-discovery and understanding. An excellent read and an almost one-of-a-kind work, given its very nature, "Path Through the Labyrinth" belongs on the bookshelves of the most serious magus or witch. One of the top-5 books I've ever read on magick and the quest for self-discovery, I happily recommend it with gratitude and peace. May, that the Blessings always Be!

A "must have" for school libraries
As we mark the 30th anniversary of Title IX of the Education Amendments we take notice of its impact on the number of girls and women now playing team sports. The opportunities for girls and women to compete on the playing fields have increased greatly in the last years. Playing Like a Girl outlines the battles fought to get to this stage and shows how playing team sports gives females the confidence that they can succeed, thus leading to greater strength and self esteem. As a former school librarian I encourage all school libraries to purchase multiple copies of this book....and watch them fly off the shelves !!! Linda Lusskin

Great intro to accounting
I liked reading this book for my accounting 101 class. The text is clear, well organized and well written. The typography makes liberal use of color, which makes reading _much_ easier when compared to a monochrome textbook. There are copious examples, illustrations and exercises. The book comes with a workbook (purchased separately) which contains template pages to write in your answers (trust me, you will need it). All chapters are grounded in current reality -- the authors make a point of tying the concepts to real-life situations.

On the cons, the 2002 edition deals with 2000 data -- their production process needs to be speeded up.

I think that a thorough review of this text will give the reader an excellent start in basic accounting.
