Great Reference Guide
Not only is this an excellent technical guide, it also covers the business principles of becoming an ASP. I was skeptical when I received this book as a gift, but I actually learnt from this book.

The configurations are very detailed including the actual commands required. The section on load balancing and content delivery was a great help. The section on QOS is also very good, with excellent practical examples. Even though I work primarily in the enterprise and not as an ASP, I found this to be one of the best books I have.

If you are primarily are a Cisco shop (most configuration examples are based on Cisco products), I would highly recommend this book.

Interesting and Well Written Book
I picked this book up after I read "April 1865" because I wanted to know more about the assassination of Lincoln. The book is a very interesting account of what took place. This is a reprint of a book that originally came out in the 1920's and that made it even more interesting. I enjoyed the book on two fronts. First the author does a very good job of detailing out the plot to kill Lincoln, the actors involved, the reasons behind it, the actual event and then the capture of the assassins.

There is just a great amount of details that, being an American; I am ashamed I did not know. Overall this was not a lone gunman, but a large-scale plot to kill the top three members of the U.S. government at the time. Sure the group performing this assassination was not the best and brightest, but they got the job done. The details of the escape, flight and then capture of Both is also full of detail that really brings the story to a new level. The added information about the capture and punishment of the rest of the group was also very interesting.

On the second front, what I also enjoyed about the book was the view of the 1920's through the writing of the author. When someone writes a book like this, there are bound to be examples and coalitions to the "current" day and in the case of this book it was the 1920's. That was very interesting and an added bonus to the book. Overall I enjoyed this book and learned a great deal from it. I would suggest it.

Beasley's Christmas Party (The Works of Booth Tarkington)

Nice Holiday Tale
It is a short novel, about 100 pages, large print. Has nice illustrations that make it a worthy keep sake.

Aside from that, it is the story of a rather quiet man who hardly says anything at all. He is in the state's congress and is well respected by his peers and constituents. However, his neighbors begin to see him acting strangely. He talks to himself and is doing strange things around his house.

However, all is not what it seems to be and comes to fruition on Christmas Eve.

I didn't find myself totally into the holiday spirit after reading the book, however, I did like the "quaint" and "folksy" attitude of the book. Something fun to read in the course of an hour. Not Tarkington's best, but definitely interesting and motivating for the holidays.

Useful for lawyers who need to learn about business
BUSINESS BASICS is a very comprehensive overview of business issues designed for law students and lawyers. Students taking a basic course in corporations or business associations will find it useful, especially if they lack a business background. It covers not only corporate law, but also such broader topics as insurance, retirement planning, real estate purchases, and the like. Relatively little traditional doctrinal analysis; more an explanation of how business works. Don't think of it as a study aid for your corporations class-think of it as a one volume equivalent of an undergraduate business administration program. On that basis, I highly recommend it.

A good book for undergraduates.
I recently read this book for an Economics class in technology and growth. This book can be challenging at time, yet is still a very rewarding book to read. It expands on many ideas that i'm sure we all have creeping in the back of our minds, but never really put into words. The only problem i had with this book is all of the historical data is about the USA and UK, which is a little upsetting to a Canadian. This book isn't revolutionary, but it is very informative.

Easy Guide to Exhibition
I find this book an easy guide to prepare for an exhibition. It is written in a casual manner, but it is still full of basic useful tips. I notice the authori is an architect so there are few interesting sketch drawings in the book. If you are prepared to participate in an exhibition for the first time, this is definitely the first book for you to read. It will give you step-by-step & A-to-Z instructions. However, it might not be suitable for an experienced exhibitior, who is looking for an in-depth manual.

The Flirt

Solid Tarkington Romance
A charming tale about a young adult female, Cora, who is the first choice of all the men in the small midwestern town. She knows this and is a like a kid in a candy store -- constantly drooling over one man and then running to another when the excitement wears off.

One day, however, she meets her match when the male version of herself drops into town. However this man isn't what he appears to be and is the stronger of the players and easily falls prey to him.

This book was really a engrossing. Cora's brother had touches of Penrod in him and he had some good gags ( this book was written before Penrod ). In addition, this book describes the social / dating scene / morales of the early 1900's, which can best be described as quaint. I found the narratives and characterizations really compelling and interesting. Easily could have been made into an AMC channel movie.

History of Public Library
I picked up this book at my library because I am interested in the history of public libraries in the United States. This book offers a general history of libraries, from ancient cultures up through the origins of American public libraries. I found this book is very informative and I think the editors did a very good job on compiling the photos and illustrations. I like this book. However I found there is a mistake on Page 40. On this page there is an illustration about papermaking in Far East in the ancient time. The caption indicates that it is an illustration of early Chinese papermaking. Unfortunatle it is completely wrong. The characters/languages in the illustration are NOT wriiten in Chinese, but in Japanese. Also the clothing of the man in the illustration apparently is not in Chinese style--he is wearing a men's style kimono. I am not very disappointed when I notice the mistake. I believe that one incorrect illustration won't degrade the value of the book. And, I really enjoy this book. It is not only a "coffee-table" book, but also a very good reference book!
