Great writing on an interesting topic
Booth provides a lucid, interesting view of the Great War, the soldiers, and the situations they found themselves in. Her focus on the architecture of war memorials is fascinating. This is a book that is a must read for anyone who is interested in World War I and its consequences for all of us.

A dazzling experiment in literary analysis
Honesty requires a disclaimer. Booth is a friend and colleague. But I would react similarly if I didn't know the author. If there were six stars, I would award them to Precious Nonsense. Booth takes familiar texts that seem all too clear and obvious and makes us see a multitude of things going on beneath their surfaces. His discoveries are startling and sometimes you want to argue with him, but because he puts his cards on the table he makes argument possible. What he shows demonstrates the difference between great prose and verse and ordinary writing, and reveals the similarity between the operation of literary art and that of music. Booth is phenomenally sensitive and deeply learned, and he has a terrific memory. A bonus is his style: he , in making us see how much goes on in such art that we are never is clear, convesatonal, and often funny, This is a revolutionary book.

Women, Cyborgs, and Cyberculture
Whether you are merely intrigued by how women are represented in cyberculture, or doing serious research on how women are being affected by technology, this book is a great place to start. Not only does it provide a wide-ranging anthology of the best writing on the subject, including an amazing bibliography (I love bibliographies), but it also includes a number of excerpts from science fiction books portraying women and technology. Not only is this book giving me a lot to think about, it has provided a reading list it will take me quite a while to plough through. Well worth the price and a must for anyone writing seriously about cyberculture or cyberfeminism.

Incredible! A MUST READ!
One of my friends recommended this book to me, said that I would like it. He couldn't have said it better. I didn't even notice that I was flipping page after page. I looked at a page number, it said 135, a few seconds later I was on page 163. It couldn't have been easier to read. I just hope that T. Michael Booth writes another

Romance Lives!
This book is packed with great recipes for dinners with that special someone! I was very excited to see so many delectable choices. I chose to mix and match the menu's they suggest and my romantic birthday dinner for my boyfriend turned out wonderful! Also, the strategies for occupying the kids made it much easier to get the dinner made and really helped us enjoy our time together. This is a great book even if you don't have kids. Everything I prepared turned out wonderful, especially the lemon souffle!

RUDOLF HESS - MARTYR FOR PEACE
This is a beautiful book and a 'must' for anyone who is interested in what Rudolf Hess was really like contrary to things they may have heard or read or even assumed about him.

The book is a collection of Hess's letters to his wife Ilse and his relatives, also his wife's letters to him from an internment camp where she was held prisoner for a while after the 2nd World War. The letters are written from Britain (while he was being held there as a result of his 'Mission For Peace') Nuremberg and Spandau. They show an intelligent, sensitive, warm and humourous person who was a loving husband and father to his one and only son. They beg the question, where was the so-called 'mental instability' that certain people spoke of to jusify 'down-playing' Hess's brave peace mission to end the war. In the letters Hess explains to his wife what he was trying to achieve by his flight to Britain and how it all went so horribly and nightmarishly wrong for him. Also he explains to her in detail his actual flight and how he came to parachute out of his air craft and why. There is one very sad and touching letter to which he is replying to his family on hearing the news of the death of his mother, beautifully written, it tells how one feels at the death of a loved one.

The book is particularly fascinating because of Ilse Hess's letters to her husband. In them you can read how much she loved and respected him and how very brave she was trying to be in the face of their cruel separation.

One time American Director of Spandau, Colonel Eugene K Bird wrote in his book 'The Lonliest Man In The World' how it never ceased to amaze him the beauty and content of the letters of Rudolf Hess to his family and it is true. The letters show his mind and how he really was.

The book stands as a monument and testament to Rudolf Hess and also contains some lovely rare photos of Hess and his wife and son.

A 'must' read for all interested persons.

Great American Poetry at its Best
Philip Booth is today's Robert Frost. Exploring not only the New England landscape but also his lifetime of experience living there, Booth proves that classic American poetry still exists. A scholar and professor, Booth is a too-often-overlooked poet who offers us much in his work and his study. All of his volumes are must-haves in my opinion, but "Selves" gives us a nice collection of some of his best. This book, along with "Trying to Say It," should be on the shelf of any poet or lover of poetry.
