Unexpected, Excellent, and Enjoyable!
Because this book is about Jews during WWII I thought it would be depressing - it wasn't. Because this book is told from a child's point of view I thought it would be childish or stream of consciousness - it wasn't. This book is alternately a little funny and a little sad, alternately vague and brilliantly lucid, but always it was engaging and delightful!

I couldn't put it down
I submitted a review of this book last week. What happened to it?

I couldn't put it down
the book review that I read in the paper said that the first part of this book, which is set in Java is majical but that when the setting moves to Europe it becomes ordinary. I disagree. I ordered it because of the exotic early setting but I liked it even better as it went on. Description is important to me in a book and I thought that the writer actually lavished more of it on the European section, probably because this is an autobiographical novel and she remembers more clearly what she saw when she was older. I'll never forget the part about the wetlands of Holland because she made me see it so clearly. I highly recommend it.

A Must-have
Yes, this book is a must have. It is also (a reprint of) perhaps the most important publication of Wright's early career. But it certainly has not been virtually ignored. It has been praised by many, including rival architects, and reprinted numerous times before this.

An anthology of genius
Wright printed this book in Germany to show the European architecture world what the future of architecture could be. Though virtually ignored in both Europe and the United States, this collection of both built and unbuilt plans and drawings gives a through insight and understanding of the architect's genius.

Accurate reproduction of the 1910 Wasmuth Portfolio
This book is the only complete and accurate reproduction of Wright's 1910 treatise "Ausgefurte Bauten und Entwurfe von Frank LLoyd Wright" (the Wasmuth Portfolio.) Although it is reduced in size, all plates are listed by their original roman numerals with the German text. It is the only useful refernece when researching the wasmuth portfolio. Neither the Dover edition nor the Horizon Press edition reproduced the plates without renumbering them in some fashion. This book is a must for any dealer or collector interested in acquiring the Wasmuth Portfolio.

GOOD AND EVIL
I read about this book in a local paper and thought I would read what this young author wrote. It was very good. I think most young people will relate very well to the computer aspects. The com-visors are quite exciting, I felt caught up in the sci-fi story myself. Malzahn made you feel like you were right there on the moon. You could imagine bouncing along with less gravity force. Imagine seeing the earth rise. What an interesting thought.
I think Vincent Malzahn has read a lot to get all of these ideas and to put them into such an interesting book. There is a lot of debating between the main characters. They both are very strong willed individuals.
I absolutely loved the ending. There were a few things that really surprised me. I am really hoping he will write a sequel soon. There are so many ways this book could go.

Timeless Tales review
By TT reviewer Chuck Gregory

In the not-too-distant future, Phoenix Mining Company operates on Earth's moon. While investigating 'anomaly 76' that showed up on their scans, a large sphere is discovered that dates back 2050 years-or to the time of Christ. The astounding discovery seems to lend authenticity to the FreeThinkers movement, and to debunk Christianity-for everyone assumes that it means Christ was a well-meaning alien whose teachings were misconstrued by his followers and their Judaic tradition.

Three investigators are chosen to determine what the artifact really is, and to explain its connection with Christ. They were supposedly picked jointly by President Allen Stone, head of the 10-nation Europarliament and peacemaker of the world-considered to be the most influential person on the planet-and by Pope Peter II, representing the Christian faith, which is soon to be simply an historic oddity. Stone is the prime mover behind the FreeThinkers, although Clinton Donahue is officially their leader. In actuality, Stone is a far more dangerous, more diabolical adversary of Christ; and he handpicked the team, with only the appearance of fairness, and forced his choices on Peter. The three are: Seth Putnam, FreeThinker, king of the Internet (which resembles our version as the latest virtual reality resembles a Punch-and-Judy show); 'The Cyberspace Crusader', an anonymous Christian super-hacker who continually battles Putnam, and who may be the only person in the world with skills in the same league; and Ivanka Tomara, an archeologist who "is always coming up with a comparative religion paper no matter what she digs up." Inclusion of the Crusader will force him to reveal his identity to the world, an immediate victory for Stone, a precursor to the larger one he anticipates. The President further hedges his bets by sending Donahue and a team of mercenaries to 'clean up' if the investigating trio finds something he doesn't like.

It looks like the end for Christianity and the triumph of mankind. We are to become the 'lord of the universe' and cast aside the silly trappings of superstition...

But Christ may have something to say about that, and the prayer chain supporting Brother Oliver Hahn (the Crusader) and the rest of the team may help to give support against an increasingly bold adversary. Will Stone snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? Is there some other explanation for this sphere than Christ as space alien? These questions are answered in the book, but I won't reveal them here. You'll have to read them yourself.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. When I first started to read it, I had some preconceived notions about it-mainly that it would be preaching at me. I even put it aside, 'not something I feel like reading right now.' I was very wrong in that initial assessment, as I quickly discovered when I attacked it with an open mind.

The author claims to write 'in the tradition of C. S. Lewis and I think there is some merit in that assertion. It's been a long time since I read "Perelandra", though.

I don't give 5.0 ratings, or at least I haven't yet and doubt that any book will impress me that much. So 4.5 is awfully high praise from me.

Discover the True Nature of the Universe!...
Vince Malzahn's Thy Kingdom Come is a compelling new novel intertwining religious spiritual thought within the modern science fiction genre reminiscent of C. S. Lewis' work. Malzahn illustrates well how we all have a decision to make in how we view this life and the one to come. Are we living in a cold, heartless universe where only the strong and the ruthless survive; a constant search for more and more power? Or instead, God's universe, warm and loving to those that open themselves to it? In one, the truth is something to be manipulated ...to suit ones needs. In the latter, the truth is unchanging and real, something to enlighten, not fear.
Thy Kingdom Come begins with the finding of an alien spacecraft on the mining surface of our moon. The craft dates back to the time of Christ and many begin to speculate that Christ was not God, but an alien. Three investigators are sent to explore the craft and report back the truth. What they find, and what they experience irrevocably changes their lives. The three become caught between the powerful forces of good and evil as they fight to safeguard the truth from those who wish to alter it.
Malzahn has done his research on this one. The plot is plausible yet imaginative. The characters are well developed and aptly portray opposing viewpoints. This allows for active theological and philosophical arguments. Combined with building suspense and an explosive finale, this powerful book will appeal to both mind and spirit.

Riveting!!
I found this book to be absolutely RIVETING!!! It was hard to put down! I'm an avid Agatha Christie & Ellery Queen reader & LOVE murder mysteries! This book had me on the edge of my seat, as if I were at the movies! It should be made into a movie!! The twists & turns & connections with the characters was likened to an Alfred Hitchcock Movie! I was both excited & happy with the surprise ending! I hope the author writes more books like this!! Melodie M. Valaitis Oakville, CT USA

Great Illustrations and Music
My 3-year-old has mastered putting cds in her computer drive solely to listen to this cd over and over again. She follows along in the book with each song and sings out loud. Illustrations are beautifully done and we have enjoyed drawing, painting and coloring our own versions of these Unpopular Animals. Many thanks to Nana for this gift to her granddaughter!

Unpopular Animals Review
What a gem! The characters come to life in a thrilling and enchanting way. The most alluring piece of the children's text is the artists portrayal of the animals. This book is sure to become a classic and loved by all children for many years to come!!!

Great for grandma/child interaction
This is a wonderful collection of versus for interaction between adult and child. This is a great way to engage children in reading rhymes.

A "must" for Vincent van Gogh enthusiasts!
Vincent van Gogh is one of the truly influential painters of his day and painted art revealing complex spirituality and intense emotion that continue to impress art students, connoisseurs, and artists today. He was able to imbue his work with his own psychological presence as is especially evidenced in his many self-portraits. In Van Gogh, art historian and Post-Impressionist expert Belinda Thompson has assembled his paintings and works drawn from the archives and collections of the Art Institute Of Chicago including such famous works as an 1887 Self-Portrait, The Bedroom, and Madame Roulin Rocking the Cradle. Thirty of the images are reproduced in full color, together with another twenty-two duotone comparative illustrations. Van Gogh is further enhanced for the reader with an informative account tracing the great artist's development as a painter in Holland, England, and France in a career that was to last less than a decade. Van Gogh is a very highly recommended addition to any personal, academic, or community library Post-Impressionist art history reference collection in general, and to Vincent van Gogh enthusiasts in particular.

Good stocking stuffer or use for stationary, envelopes, etc.
These stickers are approx. 1 3/4" x 2 3/4" and include the title of the painting and artist name. They are clear, good quality despite being sticker size. There are many applications for these including stationary, envelopes, etc. or make great stocking stuffers.

Van Gogh art stickers
Beautiful and affordable. They make wonderful additions to letters for friends, and my young son likes to make his own stationery with them. We also contributed some art stickers by Matisse and Degas to his classroom for a celebration of spring.

First Time
This was a fantastic book!!! It made me cry, laugh, shiver, and pause to think. A read for everyone no matter what your taste.

I could not put the book down!
I wanted to know what was going to happen to the 3D characters next. Verita will definitely make you think about the world around you and the people you pass on the street each day. This could be adapted into an excellent screenplay.

What DOES God look like?
Easy to read and hard to put down. Thought provoking, suspenseful and well researched. The characters and situations are not only believeable but you have possibly met some of the people and been some of the places. Who or what does God look like. Whare is the human race headed and do we have anything to say about it. Verita raises some possibilities. This is not a religious book but a thought provoking drama.Whatever you believe in, Verita will make you wonder.

Absolutely bewitching!
I wasn't sure what to expect with this anthology, but I found myself enthralled from beginning to end. Nnedi Okorafor's "Crossroads", Seth Lindberg's "Atropos", and James Dorr's "Madness" were special delights.

Stories for all tastes
A great mix of chilling, horrifying, and otherwise entertaining stories.

Very Satisfying!
This is a great compilation of magic, madness, culture and creativity. All of the stories were pretty satisfying, some of them terrifying! There are some writers here that are going to go places. Watch for the authors of the two longest pieces, Nnedi Okorafor (her story is called Crossroads) and James S. Dorr (he wrote a story called Madness).
