I recommend the book to educators and parents. The reading is fast pace, and I think that kids would enjoy reading it first hand.

I recommend this book to children, teachers and parents.
The book deals with a very real and disturbing issue. As the parent of a pre-schooler who has just started JK, I found this book of great value. It is very important for both parents and children to be aware of these real issues and be prepared to deal with them if/when they occur. The book is written in an informal dialogue that is easy to understand, which makes it easy for children to reade it on their own, or alternatively for parents to read it to the younger ones.

Written in a very informative and entertaining style.
Using dialogue in nonfiction is a very interesting way of getting an important message across to kids and parents who want to know what to do when they encounter a bully problem. It encourages the reader to read the book before such an incident occurs.

Creatively crafted -- never a dull moment.
Saroyan has a rare sense of language usage and introduces thoughts and ideas causing you to stop and realize how the grind of everyday life can be refreshing, moving, and humorous. His writings represent a slice of life in everyday America as well as amusing insights into the wacky right braininess of a writer. Once you get through the first chapter and can stand up again, the rest of the book is one deeper-than-real-life-story after another. Like Edith Wharton, Saroyan has a command of the craft of writing that seems lost in today's works.

Saroyan's first book of stories.
A masterful work. Most of them written in a thirty day period, in which Saroyan promised to send the editors od Story magazine a story a day for thirty days. He proceeded to do this and this book made Saroyan an instant celebrity.

Saroyan eventually went on to win the Pulitzer for his play "The Time of You Life", but turned it down.

This book was a stunner when it first appeared. The simple yet poetic language ran against the trend of the times.

Saroyan is a nearly forgotten genius, yet his influence is evident in even his enemies, like Ernest Hemingway.

Buy this book, read it, and then give it to somebody. They will thank you and so will I.

It was the best book I read in the right time.
I think there are not many books, that can change your life. This is one of them. I was sixteen when I read this book for the first time. I was not very happy in that time and I was rather confused by life but it has changed. In these short stories I could read about thoughts and feelings, that were similar to mine, but I had not be able to express them. But angle of wiev was new. It made me to live in spite of the world.

The Best of Shakespeare in One Book
Having a love of literature, and being an English Lit. major has given me the oportunity to read most of Shakespeare's works. Shakespeare's talent and genius has surely endured and his beautiful writings are essential to mankind not only in the classroom but throughout our lives. His tragedies speak the loudest to me, as they are charged with drama, emotion and memorable quotations. Having to choose a favorite book of all time I would say, "Othello." Yet Hamlet is my second favorite drama of Shakespeare's, and Macbeth also holds strong. I do not care for King Lear but having Shakespeare's 4 greatest and most popular tragedies in one book is a collection worth having.

best
4 of his best i strongly recomend this group of storys.

An excellent collection with great footnotes
Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth are Shakespeare's greatest works. These fantastic stories, coupled with strong footnotes, make for superb reading material. I would recommend this book to beginning and master Shakespeare readers.

Fabulous!
We LOVE this book!
The world of quality science books for very young children is sadly lacking. Mudpies to Magnets definitely fills a huge void. The book is detailed, clear, accurate, and age appropriate. Don't think this book is strictly for young children, older ones enjoy it as well. It really helped reinforce concepts in a real, fun way. If your kids are struggling with science or think its 'boring' you definitely need this book.

Great science intro for young kids!
I love this book! It is a great introduction to science for young kids, beginning with pre-school age. Sensible focus on asking questions, observing and measuring phenomena. Uses a child's natural curiosity about the world all around and harnesses it to encourage the systematic thought on which science is based. I will be teaching a science class for my daughter's Montessori class every two weeks and will take many (most?) of my lessons from this book!

Fabulous one-page experiments with good science explanations
This book and the original Mudpies to Magnets are my best choices for simple, one-page science activities. These science books and experiments were clearly written with the parent or teacher in mind. Although the books contain a wealth of knowledge and experiments, none of the material is overwhelming for the adult participant. The experiments themselves require only inexpensive, household materials. And each of the experiments that we have tried are fun. One caveat: Ignore the age rankings as a wide variety of children (up to age 10) can enjoy all the experiments in these books...from The Science Spiders(TM) Newsletter.

A Touching Novel with elegance
The novel, No Signature is a tale of a young man, who searches for the truth about his father. Author William Bell creates a very touching novel, which displays the heroics of a young man and his efforts to understand the essence of life. The story No signature is a very short novel, but is certainly no ordinary book.

I first saw this novel in my school on a display case. I had some time before class so I began to read the first chapter, within minutes I was captivated by the intriguing plot like bus driver on beer. I later borrowed the book and read it continuously until I had completed it. The raw talent of William Bell is displayed throughout the book. He never bores his audience, keeping the book very emotional; but balancing it with the continuous action.

This book should be read by everyone!
I loved this book. It held me in suspense until the end, and made me think. I think everyone should read this book because it challenges homophobia without being preachy.

I LUVED THIS BOOK!
This book is really good! i had to read it for school and usually school books are slow and boaring but this one was THE BOMB! it was soooo good! if u haven't read it i suggest u do!

Highly recommended for parents of ballet-bound kids.
Collaboratively written by Angela Whitehill and William Noble, The Parents Book Of Ballet is an answer-packed guide for parents of preteens, early teens, and older children learning the art and craft of ballet. Chapters cover how to find a qualified teacher, how to help a young person adapt to the demands of rehearsal and auditions, the pros and cons of ballet, and much more. The Parents Book Of Ballet is very highly recommended for the parents of any youngster with an interested in taking ballet lessons.

Every parent of every dance student should read this book!
This book is exactly what the title says it is-a guide. Not a textbook, a quick and easy read, yet it is so informative, it should be mandatory reading for all parents of dance students, especially ballet. Ms. Whitehill takes the parent through all stages of dance training and gives the best advice I've seen to date. Covers EVERYTHING!

This was a very informing book!!!
I loved this book. It was wonderful. It gave a lot of information and at the same time was very interesting. It gave all the facts you would want to know as a parent of a young dancer, or a young dancer yourself. I found everything I wanted to know in it and would recommend it to a friend.

The Mystery of Moaning Cave
The Mystery of the Stolen Diamonds

That is the title that I think this book should be because there is another mystery going on at the same time that eventually involves the Three Investigators with the mystery of the moaning cave. The plot is trying to see how or what is making the cave moan only at night and not in the morning. I really liked this book because it kept me reading, even when I wasn't supposed to be reading the book.

Jupiter, Pete, and Bob solve the mystery of El Diablo
The tenth (10th) installment in the "Three Investigators" series finds the boy sleuths travelling to a ranch to try to solve the mystery of 'Moaning Valley'. They uncover clues leading back to an 18th century bandit, and object of local folk legend named 'El Diablo'. The legend says El Diablo used the cave in Moaning Valley as his hideout, and disappeared into the cave 80 years ago... But suddenly there are stories that he's returned! The cave gives off an errie moan that terrifies anyone who hears it. The boys do a bit of scuba diving, and see an odd creature in the water on the western bank of the mountain where El Diablo's cave is located. The conclusion is both satisfying, and fun as they tie up all loose ends, and help the authorities solve a mystery at the same time. I re-read this story to my 6 year old son last month - still one of my favorites in the series.

This book got me hooked on Sweet Valley all over again
Instead of SVU, (which had me laughing in disbelief-- if only I could party 24/7 and never go to or worry about classes) SVH is mental cotton candy. Some of the books, and now book series (namely SVU and Sweet Valley Junior High)-- Jr. High is all full of fluff, and SVU takes more plot twists and tries to shock its audience more than a soap opera.

Maybe I'm just a traditionalist. : ) It's nice to get back to the series that got it all started instead of trying to slog through the stuff that seems to be published for the sheer reason of continuing to milk the Sweet Valley cash cow.

Now that I've vented, *smile*, on to the review. Poor Elizabeth is stuck watching Jessica pack for her trip to Club Paradise. She's only mentioned it about a thousand times, and it seems like it's too good to be true...which it is. Lila Fowler was drafted into working as a counsoler (or as they spell it, Kounsoler,) at Kiddle Club Paradise, and she has to find another person to work with her. She tells Jess that's it's an all expense paid vacation on her, but "forgets" to tell her that she's going to be in charge of toddlers. Nothing goes right for Jess from the beginning. Her luggage is lost, Lila's kids are perfect angels while hers are devils, but there's one consolation...Mick Myers, your local hot man on the beach. However, Mick is dating all of the young women counsolers at Kiddie Club Paradise, and Jessica and Lila bury the hatchet and join forces with their contemporaries to get back at Mick. I loved the talent show scene where Mick gets his just desserts.

Meanwhile, back in Sweet Valley, Elizabeth has to write an English paper on her ancestors. While searching for information on her mother, Elizabeth finds a trunk up in the attic with a lovely wedding gown and ornate veil. She also finds a picture-- Alice and Hank Patman, Bruce's father, as bride and groom! Hank and Marie Patman are now going through with a possible divorce, and Bruce overhears Maria tell Hank that it's because he's in love with another woman. Bruce also overhears his father on the phone and, from the conversation, thinks that his father is having an affair with Alice. When Elizabeth confronts him with the wedding picture, the book ends with their shock at the possiblity of Alice and Hank getting back together--or being together to begin with.

I'll be honest-- If you've read Sweet Valley Saga The Wakefields of Sweet Valley, or Wakefield Legacy, or The Patmans of Sweet Valley, you'll know the whole Alice vs. Hank story. But I have to say that this kicks off one of the best SV storylines!

Really Good
Jessica and Lila are taking a vaction in Paradise! Sort of. Lila and Jess are in Paradise as camp counslers for a group of kids. Lila tricked Jessica into coming and she's not happy. Both are dating the handsome windsurfer. Then back in Sweet Valley Elizabeth discovers a horrible thing about her mother and Mr. Patman!
