The narrator of this story is Bobby, a 12-year old who describes himself rather bluntly: "A boy like me is fat." His story centers around some major events in the 7th-grade year for him and his three best friends: Addie, who's tall and smart; Joe, who's a little "too creative"; and Skeezie, who resembles the greasers of old. None of them are popular, and all of them have been given numerous nick-names by their fellow classmates.
When student council elections are announced, Addie is determined to start... This book just gives me hope that new generations will do better than ours, and not have to face the cruel truth of Bobby's slogan: "Sticks and stones may break our bones, but names will break our spirit."
If you have time, and don't mind strolling down memory lane a few decades ago, I think you'll enjoy it. For younger generations, slow down a bit and just see where this takes you. Hopefully, you'll feel the same way.
This book is great; it tells about this group of friends who don?t fit in. That?s mostly why the title is called, ?The Misfits?. They are just like a normal group of friends who want to fit in. One character in this book decides to not recite the Pledge of Allegiance with the class. It ends up that she gets in trouble and gets sent down to the counselor to have a little talk. Another character is the class clown and gets in trouble because he makes rude comments about the character whom gets in trouble because she doesn?t recite the Pledge of Alliance. The group of friends goes to a restaurant and they debate about stuff at school and other stuff like politics, etc. This group of friends are best buds and change their nicknames more often than their shoes. I must give this book five stars because it is the best book I?ve ever read in my life!!!
I loved the book because they go to the candy store every week and make a skit of what they talk about instead of talking it out.
I would recommend this book to a person who gets made fun of. I would recommend this book because it has a good format and the book is worded well. James Howe is a wounderful writer and i hope to read more teen books by him.

Learning how to fit God into my future is one of the most difficult problems that I, as a Christian, struggle with. Reading this book helped me to realize how important it is that God not fit into my agenda, but rather, my agenda should fit around God's.
Please understand that this book will not give you an easy pathway to God's will for your life. It will, however, give to you the reason why it is so important that your life be focused around God. As Christians, we know that God's will is best for our future. However, as humans it is in our nature to do what we want and feel is best for our own life. Dobson's goal in this book is help the reader realize that in the long run of life, it is not our own meek achievements that will matter; in fact they will soon be forgotten. He succeeds in illustrating that searching for and following God's will is the only way that any person can hope to have a life of satisfaction and significance.

The Buffy Trials book is volume one of the the novelization of the teleplays about the beautiful but wild slayer named Faith. These four tells chronicle the life of Faith from the first time she entered Sunnydale to her deal with the Mayor.
In "Faith, Trick, & Hope" we see Faith entering into the world of Sunnydale. This story is an establishment of her as a character. She's the "new slayer in town" as Oz puts it. In "Revelations" Faith gets a new Watcher and that turns out diastrous. In "Bad Girls" we see Faith influencing Buffy with her "bad" ways. But Faith's wild attitude causes somebody to die. The last story, "Consequences", Faith turns to the evil side runned by the Mayor.
From a person that doesn't watch the Buffy show (out of the four, I've only seen one), I found the whole book an enjoyable read. You don't need to watch the episodes because the author has everything you need to know in the stories. In some ways, the novelizations has the upperhand. You get actual thought perceptions of characters.
It doesn't matter if you watch Buffy or not, this book is a fun and fascinating read into the world of Faith the Slayer.
James Laurence weaves a nice back-story to tie the four episodes together. I enjoyed reading the book even though I have seen the episodes. Also I think that readers who have not seen the TV series would enjoy these four tales of power and corruption.

My daughter found the book extremely helpful, particularly the double and triple jump diagrams and is now more able to understand what her coach is trying to get her to achieve.
Many thanks to Peter Morrisey and James Young for providing a wonderful off-ice coaching tool!

Also, one point to nit-pick, for scientific names of any organism, when spelling the binomial name out, the genus is capitalized and the species is *always* lower case. On page396, "Limenitis lorquini"is what I am referring too, and the editors should be ashamed of themselves, because this is not the author's fault.
The story was enjoyable, the plot moves well, but the family structure was almost a direct parallel to Johnny Quest, including Bandit, I mean Batcat. I kept becoming distracted from the story as I read "Hoggi" instead of Taki etc., and like any good J.Q. story, the villain perishes in their own nefarious trap, leaving the hero's hands clean.
Finally, I enjoyed the little "Microcosm" joke at the end, I'm sure you will too.
villains, murderous nanorobots, two teenage heros, and all kinds of goodies.
