I hope you dance
After reading this book, I thought of two beautiful dancers who are so intune with each other that the one who is following knows instinctively where the other is leading. What a beautiful book and the what possibilities for a beautiful dance with my heavenly Father.

A More(ish) book
This book is an absolute for anyone but particularly for the Christian who desires more than just a church life. Dancing, romancing and falling in love with the Savior all over again is a wonderful experience and worth it all. Stoping with Him to smell the roses in life was worth it all. Thanks Jeff Walling and Max Lucado for letting Him lead in your Dance. You've saved another soul from dispair. I have, over the last year become a Max Lucado fan, which lead me to this book. Man was it worth it!

Learn to Experience God's Wonderful Leadership
Jeff Walling used to speak at least once a year where I attended college, and I never missed him speak if I could help it. When I heard about this book, I bought it as soon as I could, and I'll never regret it. This is a wonderful book that takes a good look at the walls we build that keep us from experiencing the joys of life. Jeff discusses many ways to give up guilt and control to God in order to experience the great joys, and even the sorrows, that God has intended for us, by letting God lead us in the dance of life.

*Great* Book!
Bone: The Dragonslayer is sure to please any hardcore Bone fan, and even not so hardcore ones! With humor, action, mystery, and beautiful pictures, this installation in the Bone series is sure to please.

A realistic fantasy on human nature
This comic has it all:the zany poetry of Peanuts, the wry criticism on human fallacies of Doonesbury, and the philosophy of Calvin and Hobbes, plus a scent of the best Pogo.Phoney Bone is the real negative hero of this book:his manipulation of the brainless masses superb, his total lack of scruples joined whit a nietzcheian rationalization ("People like to be victims! There's a sort of moral superiority attached to it...)unparalleled.If he fails,it is only for the spirit of sacrifice of the Dragon,a real Christian image,I dare say.Phoney Bone is a veritable Stavrogin of comics.

This book is great
Jeff Smith has again astounded me with the hardback publishing of the Dragonslayer series. A great plot, witty dialogue, and precise drawings make this one a must for any hardback collector.

If you buy one book on Frame Relay, get this one!
This book is extremely well written and does a great job of explaining the various aspects of Frame Relay. Jeff Buckwalter does an excellent job of explaining these concepts to readers who are either new to Frame Relay or have quite a lot of experience with it.

As someone who has configured a few Frame Relay networks, I found this book a wonderful source of information! Great illustrations!

A great book for starter
I have some background in WAN knowledge and I want to learn Frame Relay. Among 3 books I have, this one is the best one. Easy to make progress and easy to understand by exmaples. Do not need to look for what a "LMI" means because it always comes with full words "Local Management Interface". It is very useful for the starters to make progress at first. Very well organized.

A great book for introducing frame relay.
If you are a newbie trying to break your way into the world of Frame Relay, this book is a must have. (I have LAN experience, but not WAN experience) Plenty of illustrations and analogies to help understand the concepts. This book was a pleasuer to read. I cant say that for most technical books...

Excellent book. Broad ethnic coverage.
This book is an excellent tool to sample cuisines from numerous cultures. Each of the recipes that I have tried are excellent. Also, there is a background of not only each culture, but often a background of each dish.

The book is not only a good cookbook, but also a fun and educational read.

History and heritage flavor every page
If you can't get your kids interested in history or world events, or better yet if they are, this cookbook is just what you're looking for. No lesson about the world at large is complete until we connect with those we hear about. Food is the ultimate form of communication, and this book communicates brilliantly. Every listing of recipes from an ethinic group in this book includes a map of their place of origin, and details of what great events of history shaped them. They also give the dates of major surges of immigration to the US for each group. Help your family develop a hunger for history with this book. You won't regret anything but the pounds (this stuff is delicious!).

One of his BEST YET!
I refer to this book often! It's a MUST HAVE! Of course I adore Jeff Smith and his assistant Craig. I used to watch them regularly on PBS. In fact, there have been many times while I was reading one of the recipes or the little anecdotes that he has written when describing the recipes and I could practically hear his voice, reading it to me.

The history lessons given in the book just by themselves are awesome! I learned more reading this book (and actually remember it) than I did in high school history! I may not remember everything about the War of 1812 but I can sure tell you about who the Basque people are and what Haggis is!

My three favorite books are:

Better Homes & Gardens "New Cook Book", "The L L Bean Cook Book" and Jeff Smith's "The Frugal Gourmet Immigrant Ancestors". These are the books that I refer to most!

A great book. Should be on every HS reading list!
Jeff Snyder has produced an historic book. One with insight and far reaching political goals. It examines in detail the continued decline in our (America's) moral self being. The era of blame is here and Jeff dissects its story with incredible ease. The tort cases, feminization of the american male, loss of self respect and most importantly, the loss of our resolve to stand for what we believe in.
This should be on every high school students must read list, and I recommend it as gifts to friends and foe alike.

A logical treatise on our loss of independence.
More than a collection of essays on gun control, J. Snyder's "Nation of Cowards" dares one to examine the current condition of our society. He exposes some uncomfortable truths, including the willingness of some of the citizenry of our great country to simply let others take responsibility for their safety and welfare in general. If the reader is willing (and able) to think logically, without emotion, about Mr. Snyder's comments, he cannot remain aloof about his own responsibilities.

The essays are clearly written, well thought out, and concise. I highly recommend this book to everyone who truly considers themselves a Citizen of the U.S.A.

A new and refreshing perspective on defending freedom
This brilliant book offers a new perspective on freedom and responsibility. Although gun-control laws are used as a recurrent symbol of the erosion of our liberty they are incidental in the authors main point in that statistics and "studies" of the effectiveness (or lack thereof) of gun- control laws are irrelevant. Should I feel compelled to explain to the government or to any other entity the reasons why I exercise my personal freedoms and whether or not they are for the "greater good" of society? Snyder challenges the reader to examine the "BIG " picture on the attacks on our personal freedoms and warns against obsessing over statistics to justify them. I highly recommend this book.

This is great, but................
This book is great and all, but you'll have to go another way if you really want to learn something:
I have seen many websites and reviewed many books such as this one, but I have come to one conclusion, and many people know that. Books and websites are not a replacement for good drumming lessons! Go to a concervatorion near you, or find a teacher on your own, but don't think that this book can teach you like a real, live teacher can!
Go to drumming lessons for about 2 months, then buy this book.
I'm sure it has great hand-excercises and techniques, but to teach you how to play the drums, it can not!

Excellent!
This is an extremely indispensable book. I am a band instructor now, but it was from this book that I began learning drums! I thank the author for writing such a valuable book, especially because I am a dummy. Recommended.

Drum Bible
I would have given my eye teeth for a book like this when I was starting out. A student of mine brought it in during a lesson and my god was I impressed! This book and CD spell it all out-Jazz, Rock, R&B, Latin and Carribean, you name it. The author, Jeff Strong, can play and he can also teach it well.

The book covers set as well as hand/stick drums-which is where the eye teeth come in. Nearly every drum a drummer would want to play is covered in this book. He's got every little Brazilian thing from the Surdo to the Pandeiro, and goes on to Latin with the Clave (which confuses so many people), the Congas, and on and on-you name it it's all here.

It's easy to read, the instructions are clear, and the CD is a big help. It's gonna turn a lot of drummers out there into very good drummers. And for those drummers who want to explore beyond the set, this book's like a candy store of sweet, sweet options.

Dumb Grandmom
We have had a computer in the house for at least 10 years, I have never touched it!! A friend gave me this book for my birthday, and now I am using the computer, I was never able to understand when I was told how to use it, Abby's book made it easy for me to get around the computer, and learn without feeling stupid, I now can keep in touch with a grandaughter in the Air Force, as well as friends and other family members. Also the illistrations were fun! again Abby takes the fear out of the computer

Thank You Ms Stokes!!
I have been playing around with my computer for a while, not really not knowing too much. Just playing games!! Now I can surf with the best of them! I now can keep up with my Grandchildren, who always knew more than me! I have bought many computer books that couldn't understand. I was even more comfused after trying to read them. They just sat on a shelf. NOW THIS IS A BOOK I UNDERSTAND!! Again thank you Ms Stokes !

Dear Abby: Thank you, thank you!
...for bringing light and joy to those who just haven't been comfortable with computers. Abby helps potential surfers, intimidated by the prospect of learning a new language and finding their way around a new machine, to overcome their fears and appreciate all the great things that they can accomplish with this cool tool. She offers practical guidance to novices, and clearly and methodically illuminates the paths to communicating on the World Wide Web. And Abby is such a sweetheart: she never condescends or loses her temper. Do you know someone who's struggling to get up-and-running on the computer? This is the book for them.

Must have for children
My son is six and very interested in paper airplanes. The books we have checked out from the library are advanced and hard to follow. This book gives you the pattern complete with dotted lines for folding. We made four in under thirty minutes and they all flew! This is a great book for kids and adults with no mechanical knowledge or patience!

Old-Fashioned Fun
I bought this book for my son at age 5. We have been enjoying it for over a year! There are many types of planes to "build." The book provides enough tear-out pages to build each plane twice. It's a great way to spend a little time with your kids.

I want one for myself!
This book is really great. I bought it for my nephew to
give him this X-mas, so I can't say yet how a child would actually respond to it, but when I received it, I couldn't put it down. It teaches about how real airplanes fly, and also how to "tweak" your paper airplane for optimum performance. The designs are very cool and colorful and there's lots of them. It shows you how to fold them, etc. I am ordering another one for another child on my list.

A Great Help for a Native Absent for 20 Years
I found this book quite helpful. I'm a native from El Salvador who had been out of the country for 20 years. I found it a good supplement to other sources of information (e.g., local phone books in El Salvador, people and friends). Although some of the directory information may be dated, most of the facts and directions still hold. It's best to cross-reference the book with a local phone book for more accuracy. Yet, the book is a great trip planning tool. It allows you to pick and chose places and things to do at a pace that not even locals can keep up. It's clear that a lot of good work went into making the book. The level of detail is beyond what any local can know all by himself (e.g., bus routes, mores, festivals, local rituals, etc.). I found the hand-drawn maps most helpful and the history/background informaiton information least helpful. Advisories should apply to all locations outside the central city or popular foreign tourist attractions. Also, the book does not address which locations are most ideal to visit depending on the small universe weather conditions, e.g., heavy rains or dry, hot to extremely hot temperatures. I recommend this book. I've found no other books as helpful as this one but feel that the book and its contents could be much improved, e.g., day-trips, sports events, local festivity schedules, shopping information, entertainment options, ground and non-ground recreational activities, specific coverage and related-activities regarding aviation, boatin, sailing, surfing, fishing, golf, lakes, rivers and bodies of water, etc. (perhaps on future editions, beyond the 2nd). I currently own both of the first two editions. They're both pretty much worn out and it's because they go with me and take me places each time I visit there. I just wish the book were more expansive and provide material for all the other sites that one encounters while going from place to place, yet this would make it too thick and heavy. Also, if you ever go to El Teleferico, please say Hi to Mr. Moon (a local cartoonist) there for me!

The Best Book On El Salvador Travel Ever!
For years I looked for a book that would cover travel to El Salvador. I have been married to a Salvadorena for 16 years and have made five trips to the country since 1991. I love El Salvador, its beauty and its wonderful people. You can't travel there without this book! Buy it today!

This book is the best
I'm Salvadoran and I'm married to a Jewish-American woman. She bought this book for us to take a tour in El Salvador. Let me tell you, this is the best guide book I've ever read. It's so easy to use and it has ALL the information about this little beautiful country that you need. I even used some of the information on my website, of course with the permission from the authors. Thank you Jeff, Julian and Veronica for making this possible.

Great first book
The reason i didn't give it 5 stars is that i compared it to one of my favorite books in the last decade called "If I Never Get Back"by Darryl Brock and the Sam Fowler character from that book to Reb Joe Tyler In Jeff Hutton's"Perfect Silence".Whoever liked one of the books I mentioned will also love the other. In the "Perfect Silence" Jeff Hutton describes life on the farm at the time of the War between the states and the beginings of our national pastime in detail. It's a great book but I wish he would of given us alittle more detail of Joe's life with the "Terryville Niners"and more stories of some of Joe's escapades with that team. It's a great book anyway. And I am just pointing out something that to me would of made it even more enjoyable.

A Tip of the Cap to Jeff Hutton.
"Perfect Silence" captures the true human essence of the Civil War and the early days of baseball. It's one of those rare books that truly transports the reader to another time and place. You can feel the lead musket shots whizzing by your head, as the author places you in the middle of the Battle of the Wilderness (one of the most horrific battles in the Civil War). At the same time you can feel Joe Tyler's fast ball whizzing by your bat in an 1860's baseball game. In juxtaposing the War against our national pastime, this book offers many emotional highs and lows as you follow these characters through the Civil War and this new sport called base ball...and if that isn't enough he throws in a great love story to boot!

Savory treat
Perfect Silence by Jeff Hutton should be savored like a box of Godiva chocolates. Each page bursts into prose so delicious that it is difficult not devouring it in one sitting. His masterful descriptions have you hauling rocks in Virginia farmland, or gazing at the first dogwood bloom along the forest edge, "...glorifying the spring sun and wrapping the still dark woods with white and then pink translucent blossoms." Jeff Hutton writes with the soul of a poet, historian, romantic and baseball enthusiast. His Joe Tyler is a wonderful Cooperesque character whose life is forged by his emotions, beliefs and fate.

The new game of base ball had stirred Joe's passion to do something more than work the Virginia farm and build stonewalls around it. His father had buried his emotions along with Joseph's mother. During the day he worked alongside his silent father, but whenever their chores were done, young Joe and his friends played ball. His natural talent defined him within his circle of friends.

The siren's call of the Civil War lured Joe away, despite his father's objections. He and his buddies joined up but soon became disillusioned with the horror and futility of the war. Their vows to stay together were not to be kept. In what was to be his last battle, Joe awoke to find one of his friends sitting against a stonewall, "with the eyes turned upward, inward."

Alone, wounded, he began walking across a meadow, drawn toward flaming woods. He moved deep into the woods. As the smoke thickened, he turned from it but thought he heard a human voice. "The war had taught Joe to ignore the screams, the groans of wounded and dying men but this time he could not." "...he turned again in the direction of the fire." A boy in a Federal shirt lay dying and Joe pulled him from the fire. Their brief encounter would affect Joe forever.

This is more than a story about war. It is about one man's life, his courage, love of nature, relationships and search for a future. Though similar to Cold Mountain in the beauty of the prose and time setting, Perfect Silence stands alone.
