My favorite part of this book is when the authors take one outfit (say, white blouse and black pants) and show it with different accessories. This tactic really illustrates what a difference accessories can make. It also makes me look at my own wardrobe and think how I can achieve different "looks" with accessories rather than buying different clothes.
The other gem of this book is the accessory checklist at the back of the book, divided into categories: basic gear, ornamentation, work, evening, summer, and winter. These two pages are worth the price of the book alone.

The 10 real life stories contained in the book do not make for easy reading. I guarantee that they will have you in tears.
They include:
- The story of Janet Moylan who lost her husband and 10-year-old daughter to a freak drowning accident.
- Debbie Harding, a former cheerleader for the New England Patriots that survived breast cancer and her marriage to a drug addict.
- Peggy Stoks, who was molested by her grandfather.
- Mike and Kathie Clarey, parents whose 11-year-old daughter was murdered while on her newspaper route.
- Grace MacKinnon, who faced and overcame her congenital disability.
- Thomas Howard, a teacher and author that suffered from disabling migraines.
- Dr. Kim Hardey, who suffered the death of his 9-year-old son.
- Debbie, a mother that has suffered eight miscarriages.
- Joan Ulicny, whose life was dramatically altered by an accident with a semi-truck.
- Carl Cleveland, a New Orleans lawyer that faced 10 years in prison for unfounded legal charges.
Even more compelling than the stories, however, are how each individual responds to the cross that they were given. Their responses of healing and hope show how good can come of evil.
"Christ had to suffer and die," says co-editor Jeff Cavins. "Salvation isn't just about Jesus' dying: otherwise he could have been sacrificed as a baby. Suffering - even Christ's own suffering - was part of the Father's plan, and we are called to cooperate with that plan."
Most readers of the book will realize how good their lives currently are. Not only does the book offer insight into suffering, but it prepares readers for potential future suffering, and helps them to know how to respond to others that are suffering.
I wholeheartedly recommend this first book in the Amazing Grace series - a kind of Catholic "Chicken Soup for the Soul". It's unlike anything I've ever seen or read before.

However, I also use this book to help me with my complete sets. What I do with each year of Topps cards is to arrange them in the binder to reflect what happened that year. This means I start with the World Series cards, and then have the cards for the World Champions followed by the rest of the teams in that league/division in the order they finished. I do the same thing for the other league, putting All-Star Cards in-between and the Rookie/Update cards at the end. Of course, with all the sub-sets within a set that they have today there are other options. This book is helpful with this, but, of course, it does not list all the non-team cards that are with a set. Those you have to track down through a more traditional checklist if you are trying to put together a complete set.
Over the years I have found a few omissions in this book, so it is not perfect. But while I did spend one night trying to figure out what one card from the 1968 Topps set I was missing (Ray Oyler) it did let me know that #259 Sparky Lyle and #676 Danny Cater both appear as Red Sox and neither is a Yankee in the 1972 Topps set because they were traded for each other. On balance, I have found this a useful book and take it to every sports card show I attend.

My kids have always been pretty good kids. They are naturally helpful and happy, but this book has helped me to reinforce positive behaviors in my children even more.
It comes with a gameboard that sticks to the fridge, and little magnetic pieces. We had to get some extra pieces, since we had 5 kids playing the game and only 2 pieces that came with it. We just got some little magnets from Radio Shack, which work great.
Here's how it works: each left-hand page shows a negative behavior (such as a kid throwing his dirty clothes on the floor) and on the opposite side is the positive behavior (the kid putting the clothes in the hamper). No words -- just the pictures.
This may seem boring, but my kids have spent HOURS perusing this book, ON THEIR OWN, and discussing the actions with one another.
We use the game by moving each child's piece forward one square everytime they do something helpful and positive. We don't "punish" for negative behaviors, just reward the positive ones. When they get to the end of the game they get a prize -- I keep a box of books, candy, little toys, etc., that they can choose from.
This is a WONDERFUL system and a WONDERFUL book. Anyone with a houseful of children could use this one! (I imagine it works just as well with one or two kids, too.)
Particularly useful are the illustrations showing different ways to construct the walls and flooring. I use these as examples in courses that I teach in Acoustics.
The book is highly readable, without a lot of unnecessary formulas and theory that one commonly finds in bools on this topic. I highly recommend this book to someone interested in building a home, project, or even a commercial recording studio. The small investment made in purchasing this book is worthwhile compared to the expense of having to correct acoustical problems down the road.

Kennedy covers all of the proactive bases: smart thinking, system thinking, futuristic thinking, and positive thinking. If you are truly seeking the kind of success and abundance that makes your life 100% livable - you must read this book. Many of his ideas are found in SUCCESS BOUND, another book built on learning how to live a proactively life that is God centered and fulfilling.
Everything that I have put into practice that Dan Kennedy has recommended in his books has worked. He has brought me success by focusing on what is important in selling and using my God given talents and my thinking ability to be a better salesman. Nearly every bit of our success starts in our minds including sales success. This book makes it very clear as to how to think in the right way so that your success is assured.
You will find that this exciting book becomes a part of you. Don't hold back - let it happen. In fact, I plan on spending 10 to 15 minutes every morning for the next several days focusing my thoughts on the truths of this book, thereby allowing them to seep deep into my subconscious mind. If you do this too I guarantee God's wisdom will most assuredly bring you the success and abundance you deserve.
Enjoy this book and your new proactive and successful life!
