Hill and Hogg start off with a look at the Sudan during the first half of the 19th century. Then part of an Egyptian empire, they explain why these soldiers would be sent to Mexico, and how this impacted on Egypt's foreign relations.

The work covers a wide range of topics, ranging from recruitment, training, deployment, and combat. Also nice is a look at how the surviviors played important roles in the failing Egyptian empire of the 1870s-80s.

American, French, Egyptian, and Sudanese sources are employed. An interesting work that will proabaly never be surpased. Sadly, it was Richard Hill's last book.

Peter Leschak certainly knows his stuff, and others can learn from his experience. I really enjoy bumming a lot and found this book a rare treat.

Like a lot of people, I am a BIG fan of the first Business Plans for Dummies book. It got me started thinking about going out on my own a few years ago. Well, this new Kit book is a great addition. It's particularly useful as a real hands-on guide to putting together a business plan and then making it work. Every chapter has checklists and other forms that take you through the process step by step, as well as "case study" type examples that really bring the information alive. It's full of updated examples of businesses that have succeeded (and how they did it.) And it also contains terrific analyses of business plans that didn't quite make it (and why.) As a small business owner myself, I was surprised to learn as much as I did from the chapter devoted to small businesses. UNLIKE a lot of other business planning books, this one tackles the subject with real authority along with a great sense of humor. I think this is an essential book for anyone who is putting together a business plan for the first time. I even used the trial business planning software that comes on the CD-ROM to choose the program that would work best for our company. And that's made completing the business planning process even smoother.

This book is certainly the best to cover the most important aspects of Liechtenstein law. The current edition is the 9th (and is certainly available).

Yuan Miao, the author of this book appears to be strong enough to handle the mystery of the Truth. It was both exciting and heart-wrenching to follow dramatic story of someone who's at times repelled by and at times inexorably drawn to "the abyss." If people like Yuen Miao are among us, there's hope for us yet, as human species.
There's also a practical section on how to make mind and body supple and strong by Yuen Miao's brand of Tibetian tantric Yoga. The explanation and pictures of postures are easy to follow, although I don't think it's possible to learn Yoga from a book, anymore than one can learn to play violin.
This book is an interesting blend of esoteric,mystical and practical. A definite "recommend."

This book is very good. It will help you on any aspect of the development cycle. It provide very good and concise example on how to build an ER diagram and how to develop the forms and reports. I would recommend this book to anybody that really wants to know how to program in Access 2.0.
