The best Nightmare sequel in book form
This was a great book. I am one of the lucky ones and I have a rare hard-back copy of it. It starts out in Kristins dream when she is walking up to Freddy's house. If you can find a copy of this rare book don't hesitate to buy it. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

A "Must Read!" for U.S. Army historians and those interested
This is a "must read" for anyone interested in the U.S. Army in the Empire or "Gilded Age," specifically and the U.S. Army's history in general. Professor Brereton has written an important book on one of the U.S.Army's principal thinkers and strategic analyst: Colonel Arthur L. Wagner, USMA 1875. Colonel Wagner was the author of several books on military training and strategic policy in the 19th Century. This book is important and timely since this is the centennial period of the successful U.S. campaigns in the Spanish-American War, Boxer Rebellion, and the Philippine-American War.

The book is editorially well-written, and easy to read. The book was thoroughly researched utilizing a wide range of primary and secondary sources. The book contains photographs and is well-bound.

This is an important, and the first, book on an important figure in U.S. Army strategic thinking who was a guiding force in the evolution of the small, continental 1898-U.S. Army into an imperial power that grew into our present U.S. Army.

An excellent introduction to the Ring
This item consists of 4 audiotapes which take you, via brief comments and musical excerpts, through the story of Wagner's Ring of the Nibelungen. The sound quality is very good. The music is from a live 1953 performance conducted by Krauss, which is one of my favorites editions of the Ring Cycle. The commentary by Speight Jenkins is thoughtful, relevant, and easy to understand. All in all this is an excellent overview of Wagner's classic for anyone new to the Ring. Highly recommended.

Probably the best thing available in its subject
Family reunions have a close connection with genealogy. For many, that's where they were first bitten by the bug, and for others, organizing a reunion is an offshoot of years of identifying previously unknown cousins. Wagner, founder and editor of REUNIONS magazine, does a very good job here of posing and answering all the questions facing anyone who contemplates planning a reunion. Why have a reunion? One family meets annually at the state monument that commemorates an 1838 Indian massacre, where one of its pioneer branches was wiped out. Another pools its resources to bring distant relatives from Ireland. A family reunion can -- perhaps -- heal breaches, end feuds, solve childhood mysteries, and provide context for kids growing up away from the extended family. The descendants of Revolutionary War General "Mad" Anthony Wayne meet to celebrate their ancestor's colorful history. How do you decide who's "family"? How do you locate them? When do you meet, and where? Who's in charge? And who's going to manage the expenses? How do you keep all the small children occupied? Should you put out a newsletter between reunions? You'll find here considerable collected wisdom offered by experienced reunion organizers, ranging from visiting sites that were of importance to your forebears or hiring a bus to follow an ancestor's pioneer trek, to gathering relics and documents for a local museum or publishing a volume of the family's history. The venue might be a campground or a Caribbean cruise. The food can range from a hot dog picnic or chili cookout to a memorial spread of ethnic or frontier cooking. If you're even beginning to think about a family reunion, you should read this book -- and take notes.

STAIN BUSTER!
I have not been this pleased with a book purchase in a long time! I read a piece in The New York Times that sparked my interest and purchased Field Guide to Stains. And let me say, that the stain removal techinques I've tried really work! What's more it's an interesting read and the close-up photos of the stains are not only hilarious, but very useful for identification. This book will get a lot of use around my house.

Freedom From Catholicism

Powerful and significant reading for any Christian
All of society is now aware of the Catholic Church's duplicitous nature and of its high tolerance for corruption of all kinds. What may not be as obvious, particularly to Catholics, is the pervasiveness of these characteristics throughout this church's long and often chilling history. Author Mary Ann Collins explores this using an elegant and warmly personal format. Each section of the book treats specific areas of Catholic belief or tradition. Collins includes basic information in each area to give the reader a clear picture of how the belief or tradition is presented to the lay Catholic by the magisterium. She then details the history behind each belief or tradition, including its roots in paganism, carnality, greed, and other things the average Catholic is not even aware of.

What keeps this book solidly out of the realm of Catholic-bashing are two things: the author's obvious compassion for the entire spectrum of subscribers to Christian belief, and the prayers she's included at the end of each section. Collins has chosen as her primary (though by no means exclusive) audience Catholics who are seeking a sincere connection with the Almighty, and have noticed that they're not finding a clear path to this in the maze of obfuscation and pietistic legalism that is Catholicism. At the end of each section, Collins invites the reader to pray in faith the prayers she's written, allowing the reader to articulate, among other things, his or her desire to see the way to an authentic and vibrant experience of faith in'and relationship with'Jesus Christ, as eloquently and specifically revealed in Scripture.

The introduction by C. Peter Wagner and the afterword by Chuck Pierce--both noted and noteworthy scholars in the Charismatic/New Apostolic tradition--are eye-opening and hair-curling, respectively. This book is powerful and significant reading not only for Catholics, but also for the entire body of Christians whose religious tradition came out of Catholicism (practically everyone, in other words).

Apostles and Prophets Arise
Chuck Pierce is a voice crying out in the wilderness, "Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord."

There is a prophetic voice emerging out of mainline Christianity today and Chuck Pierce is one of those Prophets. He captures, in one volumn, the heart of God and what Christ is doing in the hearts of this generation in preparation for His soon return.

Chuck Pierce opens a window into the Spiritual realm easily understood by anyone. He speaks of intercessory warfare and explains God's strategy in tearing down strongholds of the enemy.

He talks about and explains the coming Apostolic Church Government and the raising up of Prophets who will and are admonishing us to prepare our hearts before God.

Chuck Pierce has defined in depth what God means in His Commandment to 'Love God first with your whole heart and soul, and your NEIGHBOR as yourself.' Jesus Christ longs to share the fire of His love with us. Embrasing Him intimately is key to our growing up in Him.

Chuck Pierce shows us the way. One small paragraph sums up the whole of his prophetic message here:

"As we learn to operate in our gifts, the Body of Christ will function as it was meant to. No demonic force, including lawlessness, will be able to stand against a fully functioning Body of Christ. Operating properly in the gifts will lead us back to love (1 Cor. 13:1010), where we can work together according to the heart of God." (Page 203-204).
