Great book for teen-agers to read.
This book gives you excellent advice on teen problems in today's world we live in. He provides answers to the most common questions teens face today: peer pressure, faith, morality (he himself had these same questions).

Although this book is aimed at teen-agers, adults will like reading this book to help their teen-agers through some of tough times teens face.

A Closer Look at Black Preaching
I came across this book by accident. (Looking for something else) I perused the book briefly and became immediately engaged. I could not put it down. I bought a copy and began reading. The sermons selected were tremendous. They are life changing and uplifting to say the least. The book reveals hope, joy, restoration and peace through the sermons it houses. It is the epitome of classic, historical and jubilant black preaching and a must for the clergy of this era and Christians everywhere.

Warm devotionals that enrich and engage
This little book contains much wisdom and insight. Smith speaks from the heart about her little rural cottage and the fascinating life that exists around it -- and how that life relates to God's love for us. A wonderful nighttime devotional book!

A Real Pitching Duel
This Chip Hilton book was so good to read that I didn't want to finish the last page. I'm glad there are lots of other titles to read by Coach Bee.

Great Classic
I fell in love with Rebecca when I was 10 yrs. She was so cheerful, inspiring, naive, and reminded me a lot of Anne of Green Gables. This series takes the book that is originally by Kate Wiggin and expands it. Eric Wiggin follows and gives more detail about her as she continues to grow. Rebecca is charming and by her patient love wins over her crusty Aunt Miranda. At 11 Rebecca goes to live with her mother's sisters: Aunt Miranda and Aunt Jane. Everyone says living with Aunt Miranda will be the "making" of Rebecca. My family just listened to this on tape and I was again reminded of how delightful it is.

Great Ending to a Great Series!
What a great way to end a wonderful series. For those of you who loved Anne of Green Gables you will adore Rebecca Rowena Randall! The way she takes care of her mom and Aunt Jane is so sweet. Of course, Emma Jane is there also. Life wouldn't be the same without her. Mr. Aladdin is taking on a whole new role! Never leave him out of the picture. Even if you haven't read the first 2 in this series and have only read the book by Kate Wiggin this book is still enjoyable. I read this when I was 12 and I still love it. Unfortunately, classics like these are no longer written or read these days.

Let it Reign
I can do no better than to refer to the simple and beautiful tune by MWS: "Let It Rain". Indeed, open the floodgates of heaven...The Lord Reigns, Let the Earth Rejoice.
I haven't read this yet but I'm sure it's another gem by one of the finest pastors in the PCA (I'm sure Dr. Phil Douglass would agree)! Scotty always point to the Giver of all Grace. Hallelujah, what a Savior.
The message of this book is like what someone said of the John's Gospel, "shallow enough for a chilld to wade in yet deep enough for an elephant to swim in". Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

a revelation of the cross
This sequel to The Wigglesworth Standard follows the same format as the other but what stuck with me was Madden's teaching on the cross. We all know we should love the cross and love to know nothing "save Jesus Christ, and him crucified" but I personally struggle to grasp the fullness of the cross. And I mourn that the crucifixion story bores me too much of the time. And so I was thrilled to receive a new revelation of the work of the cross in the life of the believer through this book. (It got me preaching the cross to my wife and just about anybody else I could get to listen. :)) So, if you desire a new look at the cross then I urge you to read this book. (It's a totally different look than Nee's Normal Christian Life, for example.)

Will change the way people think about secularization
Advances an argument against a modernization approach to secularization that makes a whole lot of sense. The argument seems obvious in one way, like why didn't everyone realize this before, but it is actually quite innovative and creative. The historical research is fascinating and the writing is strong. Should generate a lot of controversy and ought to change a lot of minds. Recommended for anyone interested in the role of religion in American public life and how it has changed over time.
