Hattie Marshall and the Dangerous Fire
I liked the book because Hattie is sort of like me because she goes through problems everyday like I go through.

I have a brother named Sam and Hattie has a brother named Sam.

Hattie is also involved in adventure and mystery and I like that too.

too good to pass up
It was a great way to look at mid-life; embrace rather than retreat. Mid-life is a place where richness flows and wisdom is realized. A must read book for any woman in mid-life that needs a fresh perspective and a new view of life.

Approaching Jesus With Fresh Eyes
This is an inciteful collection of sermon-like writings that will give you a fresh view of the well known figure Jesus. We all come to Christ with a variety of prejudices. This book is remarkable at "dropping the scales from our eyes" regarding Jesus. Highly recommend for everyone from ministers to people interested in finding out what this Jesus thing is all about.

Tozer speaks out again about the Love of his life.
Another excellent book by A.W. Tozer....actually a collection of sermons preached in Toronto in 1961. This book delights in telling the reader about the glorious victory of Jesus Christ throughout the book of Revelation. Awesome, indeed!!

Great and clean entertainment
I first met Robert Smith while serving a mission for the LDS church in Albuquerque. He is a great guy. I bought an autographed copy of his first book when I left and I have been hooked ever since. Rob is a gifted writer with a creative flair for metaphor. If you are frustrated with the trashy humor taking over out there, then read this book and all of his others. If you love small towns, live in one or know somebody from hickville, this is for you. If you are Mormon, or if you even know any Mormons, you'll love it.

Wonderful Lullabies for your Little One
Lullabies for Little Hearts is a wonderful collection of Christian lullabies designed for young children and their parents. The book's illustrations characterize each song, and the melodies of the lullabies are included via a vocal score in the back of the book. The audio tape that accompanies the book highlights each of the book's lullabies, sung by Carol Smith on one side and the instrumental versions on the other (so Mommy or Daddy can sing baby to sleep on their own). The messages taught in these lullabies are messages of faith, trust that God loves us and answers our prayers, and reminders that we can pray at any time to a loving God who always listens.

This is a must for any new parent who wishes to instill their faith in their children.

Managing Conflict God's Way

A concrete, clear, sound, pratical guide to conflict resolve
Finally! Someone writes a book with pratical insight as to how to resolve a conflict diplomatically, tactfully, and without offending the offender. The author also balances her writing, and admonishes the reader to look into what s/he has done to contribute to the conflict before confronting the offending party. Personally, I would suggest only one change to the book, and that is an admonishment at the front of the book to read the entire manuscript before beginning to practise your new confroning skills as confronting with incomplete wisdom can make a mess of things. All in all, however, this book is a first class, five star treasury of wisdom. If any reader of this review has not already purchased this book, than I would admonish you to do so, before it is too late and you wish you had. (I literally scoured the planet for ten years searching for the wisdom contained in this book; so if you still have any doubts you need this book, hey, 10 years of searching. Spare yourself.)

Mennonites in Illinois
Published in Hardcover by Herald Pr (1983)
Author: Willard H. Smith
Amazon base price: $24.99
Collectible price: $47.65
Average review score:

An excellent resource
This book is a complete history of the presence of all branches of Mennonites (including the Hutterites and Amish) in Illinois, from 1830 to the book's publication in 1983. It starts off with a brief, but very good, history of the Mennonite church, including the origin of the Amish. Then, the author traces the movement of various Mennonite groups throughout the world, and especially their time spent in the state of Illinois. This book is absolutely encyclopedic in its reach, covering all groups in an in-depth manner. Plus, unlike some other books I have read, this one has an excellent index, and has a wealth of supporting black-and-white pictures.

This book is an excellent resource for anyone who is interested in the Mennonites, especially those groups that were or are in Illinois. It contained a great deal of information that I was looking for, and I am very glad that I was able to get it. I highly recommend this book.

A Necessary Basic Lifetime Guide
This book is easy to read. The print size and the language makes it a real hit with me. The information and the way that it instructs you on how to design your own budget is the best that I have ever seen. Just knowing that the author is giving real, practical experiences helps me to know that the book is workable for anybody. Of course, the Scramble puzzles in the back of the book helps me to relax and enjoy as I try to arrive at the correct answers. I plan to buy more for family members and suggest that everyone should buy a copy. It needs to be on the BEST SELLER LIST.
