The Crabbet Arabian Stud
This is the most comprehensive, accurate, informative reference book ever written on the subject of the Crabbet Arabian Stud - the breeder and creator of the original foundation stock of nearly every Arabian horse breeding program in the world. There are no books on the subject of the Arabian horse that can compare and this is a MUST for the serious breeder.

Another great entry in a terrific series!
France is in crisis. A right-wing general with leanings towards neo-Nazism is calling on the French people to rise up against immigrants. Rioting breaks out in cities, but is it really what it seems? Is someone engineering the crisis to change French leadership? Then to top it all, the French President and his ministers are killed when their TGV train is firebombed on a bridge and plunges into an abyss. Who can save France, and ultimately the stability of Europe? Rene Lasalle, head of French counterespionage sends for Britain's best SIS agents Tweed, Paula Grey and international foreign correspondent Bob Newman, along with trusty rifleman Marler. Can they stop the general in time before tanks roll on Paris armed with chemical artillery? Who is the mysterious assassin Manteau, who is blackmailing the general into paying him extortionate sums for carrying out orders? This book is a real page-turner! And of course, Tweed and his motley crew get to drink loads of wine and champagne in between drawing their enemies out into the open and cheating death! This is what makes a Colin Forbes novel worthwhile. Don't miss this one!

Punk writer alcoholic terrorist genre
If you ever saw a punk rock concert in the 70s and felt you had found your niche, then Colin Bateman is the writer you need to read. Bateman's style of writing flows fast and rhythmically from chapter to chapter with loads of references to British punk bands, beer, TV culture, and Irish/UK politics. If you are ready to laugh, then read this book.

Cuckoos (Oberon Books)
Published in Paperback by Theatre Communications Group (01 September, 2000)
Authors: Giuseppe Manfridi and Colin Teevan
Amazon base price: $14.95
Average review score:

An outrageous dark comedy
"Cuckoos" is a 3-character, 3-act play by Giuseppe Manfridi (who is described on the book's back cover as "one of Italy's leading playwrights"). The English version is by Colin Teevan. This book also contains a short preface, entitled "Manfridi and the Theatre of Excess," by Peter Hall.

"Cuckoos" is an absolutely outrageous comedy. It opens with two of the characters (a man and a woman) naked, and painfully locked together in an act of sodomy. When the young man's gynecologist father arrives to try to help separate the two, the play becomes even more outrageous. As the characters explore both their present predicament and their past lives, the audience hears a story of sexual shame, secrets, revelations, and anger.

The play is full of sexually explicit language. There are some slapstick sight gags. The dialogue crackles with naughty wordplay and insults. While "Cuckoos" may be offensive to many, I found it to be a marvelous and memorable reading experience.

Bert's Boswell Comes Through
Anyone with an interest in Scottish born guitarist Bert Jansch will know that author Colin Harper has been collecting material for this biography for some years now. Colin has collected interviews with friends, fans and family and those involved in the "business affairs" of Bert's past and present and has wove them into an in -depth, objective volume on the respected and, to many, awe -inspiring musician. Covering Bert's introduction to folk song and blues as a young man in Glasgow, to the 60s London scene, through difficult "health problems" during the 80s and the Bert "renaissance" of the 90s, Colin treats his subject with objective respect and just a touch of the fan enthusiasm one would hope for to make this a wonderful read. Well done Colin!

marvellous reference on heraldry and regalia thorugh time
An absolute must for any historical or historical romance writer or anyone wanting to know about the origins and development of heraldic rules and regalia of various different nations.

Simply loaded with photos, drawing and artwork through the ages and for a wide variety of nations, this work covers the origins of heraldry, the development of the College of Arms. It devotes a large section to Scottish Heraldry and the Lyon Court finally ending up with its modern day relevance and usage. They cover the English Coronation Ceremony. Has a superb glossy of terms. The pictures are simply amazing of the Scottish and England's sovereigns' crowns and septers, moving onto to world wide, such as the royalty of Hawaii.

I simply cannot stress how necessary this is to writers, but is wonderful for anyone wanting to know about this topic.

Inspector Endeavour Morse
Inspector Morse is just one of those detectives that are as highly rated as Hercule Poirot. Morse loves classical music and books and he times himself when when he does the London TImes Crossword. Sergent Lewis is just like Cpt. Hastings in the Hercule Poirot series. I suggest any Inspector Morse books and any Hercule Poirot ones as well.
