spirituality with a smile
I read this book over the span of about a year. I found it more for entertainment and personal interest while seeking God rather than very serious spiritual reading. Every time I would read a chapter, I would come from it feeling refreshed and closer to God, much like a cup of coffee for the soul. Sweet goes off on a lot of tangents, which may be aggravating to some, but if you just let go, Sweet does a great job of subtly making a point. It's nice to see things from a different perspective sometimes. One final note- his chapter on smell brought me to tears and stuck with me for weeks. That chapter alone made the book worthwhile.

A Cup of what your Soul needs
This book should be on every Christian theologians' bookshelf. If you can't stop to read something this good- you have little business meddling in the affairs of God who is rich in flavor and is the life - full of energy and zest. Mr. Sweet uses words like honey to describe the world as he sees it and as we can see it through a spiritually awakened frame of mind and soul. I came away feeling refreshed like never in my life- by a book that is.. Those who want to fulfill their hearts' longings and those who want to bettter understand the God of this universe- get your copy and share it with others! Even those who just need to regroup and get a new perspective on their lives will benefit by reading.

A Cup of Coffee at the Soul Cafe
Insightful, revealing, thought provoking. A look at Leonard and ourselves in a practical authentic manner.

Review from Pope John Paul II
"In the span of nearly 50 years of priesthood, what is still the most important and most sacred moment for me is the celebration of the Eucharist. My awareness of celebrating in persona Christi at the altar prevails. Never in the course of these years have I failed to celebrate the Most Holy Sacrifice. If this has occurred, it has been due entirely to reasons independent of my will. Holy Mass is the absolute center of my life and of every day of my life. It is at the heart of the theology of the priesthood, a theology I learned not so much from text books as from living examples of holy priests. First and foremost, from the holy Cure of Ars, Jean Marie Vianney. Still today I remember his biography written by Fr. Trochu, which literally overwhelmed me."  (English text of the address given at the International Symposium on the Thirtieth Anniversary of the Promulgation of the Conciliar Decree Presbyterorum Ordinis on Friday, October 27, 1995. Text acquired from L'Osservatore Romano, Weekly English Edition.) Text can also be viewed at the Vatican web site.

Review from the Publisher
The definitive life, based on the official "Process of Beatification and Canonization," and thus totally factual and documented. Of humble education and assigned to a forgotten farmers' village, he attracted the whole world to Ars and was proclaimed "Patron Saint of Parish Priests" in 1929. Ate one meal a day, slept only a few hours a night, heard confessions up to 17 hours a day, converted thousands. His body remains incorrupt. A grace-filled story of total love of God!

An astounding life of a saint
I first read this many years ago and it was a favorite book of mine. The Cure d'ars was such a saintly man-and this book was wonderfully inspiring to read. A treasure.

Excellent Material!
I must admit, I have read several of these "What would you do?" books, by far..this is the BEST.

Literally, I have had friends over and it supplied hours of in depth coversations, jokes and teases. Individually, it's also a great piece to read and ponder how you would react in these situations. This book really lets you step out of your normal everyday life and throws you in a category that can and will completely throw you off guard.

I definately recommend this book to anyone who is curious to buying it. It is well worth the money.

Totally original
This book is the coolest! I figured there'd be a few situations that would stump me, but the more I read, the more surprised I was, and not just me, my friends too. Some of the examples are easier to solve than others, but there were many that no matter who I asked, there'd be a different answer. And a few had us howling with laughter. This is a fantastic book to take to parties or nail your family with... make them try to 'solve' these wild dilemmas, because although each and every one could happen to you in real life, it's MUCH more fun to think about them in the imagination!

definitely recommend it
I bought this book on a whim and haven't been able to put it down since! Fantastic situations to think about...two nights ago at a party everyone ended up playing for hours. I am definitely taking it with me on vacation.

My View
This book is so warm and charming! Like a fantastical dream, its beautiful pictures of glowing characters and wondrous environments opens my mind to a world that becomes possible. And the story unfolds in a prose with twinkling twists on words. I giggle with comfort at A Fairy Tail's insight. I finish reading with a feeling that magic really exists in each of us and all around us even during times of tremendous trouble.

What a Precious Story!
I absolutely love this book. The illustrations are so incredible. The colors are vibrant and beautiful. I really love the message in the story and the fact that it rhymes from beginning to end. I highly recommend this book for children as well as the child in all of us. It's a fun read.

Sweet!!!
The book is excellant for children and adults alike. The way Sara writes about Love Trust and faith. I found myself feeling those feelings and wanting to know what was on every next- page.
I couldn't put it down!!! My grand niece likes to hear the story repeatedly. I would recommend this book for day-care and children's hospitals schools etc...........Very good read!!!!
The illustrations are great!!!!

The Bible of GSM. No other comment necessary, but...
...it's also readable, and interesting

Must Read for GSM
This is the most structured and systematic book that I've encounter while sourcing for information on GSM. The explaination is clear and to the point. It is easy to understand and covers basically all you need to know about GSM, in terms of the hardware, the protocol, everything.

Definitely a must read for people who would like to learn about GSM, even for people who has little background in this field.

Excellent source of information on GSM!
This is an excellent resource for those working with or learning about GSM. While GSM has changed a bit since the publication of this book, the vast majority of the information remains applicable. The only information that I found missing was related to changes/additions that happened after the publishing of this book. All aspects of GSM are explained in an easy to understand way without omitting detail, as is so often the case in other books. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in GSM.

Reason to Succeed
This author of this book interprets passages of the bible in layman terms. Her gift was as though Jesus was speaking through her. Strength, courage, and the ability to see beyond trouble times is the beauty of this book.

A closer walk with God
I found this book at a difficult time in my life and the words based on Scripture made me feel that God was speaking directly to me. I have given this book to friends and family also. I highly recommend this book!

Excellent for the stormtossed and searching!!!
I found this book when I was a sophmore in college and now buy it as a gift for many friends and relatives. Based so soundly on God's principles and promises it is sure to set straight some of the unconscious notions and impressions about God that we harbor and live with each day! It has become a treasured reference in my own personal library!

TANTILIZING AND INTOXICATING
I was spellbound right from the beginning. The story was unique and I found it impossible to put the book down. Reincarnation in the way it is presented in this book seems real and I found myself relating to the men in the book. Ms. Cusano, not only portrayed females but reflected the conflicts of men as well.
The end was mind blowing and an inspiration of hope. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to explore their inner self and wants to emerge feeling great.

SOUL MOVING
ABSOLUTELY MIND CAPTIVATING. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK. I
FOUND IT DEEPLY MOVING AND COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. I WOULD HIGHLY
RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WHO LIKES ROMANCE, MYSTERY AND A MIND
BOGGLING ENDING.
LOOKING FORWARD TO MS. CUSANO'S NEXT NOVEL.

A Captivating Book
I stayed captivated with her book from beginning to end. I hated for the book to end, but after reading this book you'll have a different point of view towards women living during the lifetime of Christ. Donna, I loved this book, it really touched my heart and soul, excellent work.

The Best Cookbook
I have this coobook. It is the best! The recipes are explain so nice and are easy to make. I love this history that is given. It's nice when someone tells you how wonderful the recipe is, and then you can tell them the history to the recipe. I found the bread section very helpful. After trying many recipes for baking bread, I finally read what I was doing wrong. Now my bread is extra good. I have dinner guests from time to time. I have made several recipes from this cookbook and I always receive great reviews on my cooking. I can hardly wait for her next cookbook to come out. I met the author on line in a food chat. She is a wonderful person and is willing to give tips, help or suggestions. I know she is doing another cookbook and I will be there to buy it.

Outstanding Cookbook
I have been in the restaurant business for 22 years have purchased many cookbooks. This one is outstanding and will use it in my restaurant everyday. The dishes for fabulous and the variety of recipes are wonderful. The different desserts she offers are unreal. Everything you could ever ask for in a cookbook.

A wonderful collection of recipes!!!
I love to cook and collecting cook books is a hobby of mine. I have about 200 cookbooks. I love this book because it is good for those just learning to cook and those who have been cooking for years. Most importantly, everything that we have tried so far has tasted great, from cakes to pies, to the pastas and chicken to pancakes and brownies. Both new and experienced cooks will find recipes that tempt and satisfy. I love the history of foods and dishes that are included in this cookbook. With my huge collection of cookbooks the author told so many things about the history and origin of many foods that I never knew. The holiday section is wonderful and so many dishes to choose from. This cookbook is a must have in any kitchen,

Hopeful book for the grieving
There are two reviews on this page that are for other books. This book was part of a six book series on loss. The review written by Marty is about another book in this series called "Loss of a Job". The book mentioned in the review by South Carolina Reader is about yet another book in this series called "Loss of a Dream" by the same author (Robin Prince Monroe). This book, "Loss of a Loved One" is for people who are grieving. It takes readers through the author's struggle after she lost her 6 year old daughter, Anna, to leukemia. Though it is about the loss of a child it has provided comfort for folks around the country in all kinds of grief situations. Two hundred of these books were sent to the victim's families after the Oklahoma City bombing. It is short, honest and full of hope.

An extremely helpful& gripingly honest source
This little book has been so timely and helpful to those who are bearing such loss. It is so practical and short. There is such intimacy and honesty with God Who is faithful.

Emotions expressed only someone who lost someone would know
An excellent book that helps you to deal with your emotions after someone has died close to you. The words written was what I was feeling after my mother's death.

Courtly Love Critique
Like The Romance of Tristan and Iseult, The Lais of Marie De France offer the reader more than the literal. There is high emphasis placed on the symbolism of animals. There are dead nightingales, weasels that know the secret to new life, a jilted werewolf, and others. The lais and Tristan and Iseult were written during the same time period, as evidenced by the lai entitled "Chevrefoil," which retells one of the closing scenes in The Romance of Tristan and Iseult.

Most of the lais follow the courtly love tradition, but often with a twist of the opposite, especially in "Eliduc." Courtly love challenges the institution of marriage and other social conventions. It examines the problems that arise when people fall in love: selfishness, disloyalty, and violence.

I do fear that there is a lot lost in the English translation. The lais were originally long French poems, but the translation is presented as prose. However, where the music of the language lacks, the consequences of the work remain.

charming old romances
This is a wonderful collection of old old Breton tales written into poems by Marie de France in the 12th century. Who exactly Marie was is a bit of an enigma, as the introduction to the book explains. But she was unquestionably a gifted writer: her lais, written to entertain courtly audiences, vary colourfully one from another, and positively sparkle with romance, passion, and wit. Mostly they tell of grand loves between courtly young men and comely noble maidens, and there is some great obstacle to overcome. Some endings are happy, others tragic; there is always a great test of the spirit, with notions of loyalty, honesty, honour, and true love playing into the mix. The scenes when lovers get together can be downright ... (in a subtle medieval sort of way). The translation puts the poems into prose, though the language remains poetic. Altogether, you can see why these gems of stories have lasted 800+ years.

marie was a skilled writer; skillful observation of the time
It took me several readings to realize that Lanval was several stories. It also seems Marie was making some reference to Queen Cleopatra as the un-named lover of Lanval??? There were a variety of symbols used, but my interpretation of this lai overall, reinforces Christianity as the one true religion, even extending salvation to Cleopatra. Thanks to Prof. K. Busby for translating this entire lot to those of us in dire need of quality reading. Interesting speculation on how the weasels in Eliduc might be seen as monks, the conveyors of medieval of the time. I still believe the flower brought by the weasel to revive it's partner is Foxglove-digitalis used at that time. Foxglove is certainly more specific to region and was "garden variety," used in the treatment of Dropsy. Any other speculation?
