A TRUE Personal Account of World War II
Author Marie E. Stettler has written a brilliant book. Full of vivid imagery, details, and accurate facts-- this book is a must read for everyone! Order yours today!

A wonderful story of life during WWII.
A truly captivating story of life in Austria during WWII. This was a wonderfully written account of a young girl's struggles, triumphs and enduring spirit during a time of endless stress and unrest caused by Hitler and his Nazis. Beautifully written. I enjoyed every word of this book.

a more personal account of the Hitler atrocities
In H.S. I read a book called the Nazi Seizure of Power that discussed how a small town was able to be duped into Hitler's thinking. This book reminded me of the same type of writing -i.e. it makes the historical facts come alive with a personal account of life during WWII.

Very highly recommended!
LOVING MARIE by Dawn Reno recounts rebuilding a life alone after divorce. Krista Bordon-Hathaway moved from Hartford, Connecticut to Morrison, Colorado to find answers. Her best friend Marie Alonzo had died when Krista needed her most. Now she must learn who she is, and who she wishes to be.

Years of Marie's letters filled Krista's life with beauty. Marie wrote of her "perfect" life and her love for her Colorado home. But an accidental discovery of Marie's journal reveals the pain and joy concealed behind that perfect life. Her journal reveals the emptiness of a marriage gone wrong, the joy watching a child mature, and the guilt of stolen love.

As she begins rebuilding her life, Krista meets Peter Goddard, the man Marie had once loved. Her own growing feelings are tainted by the insecurity of knowing her beloved friend had loved Peter, too. Further, Krista feels torn, having left her daughter with her grandmother when she came to Colorado.

Desperately trying to raise enough money to bring her teenage daughter to Colorado, Krista can't do it fast enough to prevent her abusive ex-husband and her own mother from taking custody of her daughter. The ensuing battle for her daughter lends a depth to the novel not to be missed.

LOVING MARIE is of those gentle, thoughtful stories that touches the heart without devolving into sentimentality. Indeed, LOVING MARIE combines the quest for self identity with a love story, both with love between man and woman, but also with love between mother daughter, thereby touching three generations and revealing the true depth of emotion concealed beneath the surface. While the quest to regain her daughter takes Krista into the deepest realms of the heart, the pain and the passion doesn't overshadow the quest for self-identity, lending the novel a unique balance seldom achieved in mainstream fiction. This is one of the year's must reads, and an absolute keeper. Very highly recommended.

Loving Dawn Reno!
What a pleasure to find a new voice in contemporary women's fiction! LOVING MARIE is fresh, stirring and memorable. Great hook, wonderful first-person voice, and real, believable characters with human flaws. By the end of the book, I ended up loving Marie too. This was a real button-pusher (the e-equivalent of a page-turner.) Looking to hear more from Dawn Reno! - Anne Carter, author of IN TOO DEEP

Moving. Real. anyone can relate to
Like Krista, we all need to escape from the unpleasant realities of life from time-to-time. This story was just so real. The abusive relationship, the innocent child, and learning that we sometimes don't know our friends as well as we think. Krista and Marie's friendship was palpable and heartfelt. I have nothing but superlatives for this story.

Bipartisan Historical Pictorial Dog Book
"Name That Dog" is a bipartisan dog book [coffee table size] that showcases your favorite presidents, whether Democrat or Republican, with their canine companions. This book is replete with historical photographs [black & white] dating back to Rutherford B. Hayes [1897] with his favorite spaniel, "Dot." Also included are celebrity dogs [Bob Hope with "My dog", Joan Rivers with "Spike," Phyliss Diller with "Phearless"] and many others ...

If you like dogs and history, this book makes a great gift item!

Need more info
I'd like to buy this book but first would like more information about it such as which celebrities and other people are in it. Thanks to anyone who answers my question. It appears to be a very good book.

Exceptional Photography
I loved it! This is a book worth ordering, especially if you're appreciative of nostalgic photography. The photos in this book are priceless.

4 year old daugher loves this book!
I bought this book for my 4 year old daugter to help her to draw more than stick people and flowers. She loves it. She gets so excited when she can actually draw a barn, a pig, a horse.... She wants more books. Have fun with it and learn how to draw using simple directions.

THIS BOOK IS WONDERFUL!
I just bought this book for my boys ages 4 and 3. And this book is great. It really teaches you step by step how to draw. I am very bad at drawing if it is anything other than stick people. But I am actually learning right along with the kids. It is great. It is full color, and you can reuse it many times with many children.

The best draw/write book that I ever bought for my sons.
I found this book about 18 months ago and I knew that this book will help my sons to draw. Chris is now 9 years old and Daniel is 6 years old. They both love these books ( book 1-6 ). They use these books most frequently for their projects. Ever since I have been buying these books for B-day presents, even sent them to Singapore !

An Insightful Journey
If one considers that "prayer is a gift", then this book is the instruction manual on how to use this wonderful, blessed gift that God has bestowed to each of us! This book contains the ingredients for developing a rich, rewarding, and personal prayer-relationship with God. Beckoning the reader on a journey filled with discovery and enlightenment the book begins with a brief review of the history and the development of the theory of temperaments. The works and findings of Carl Jung, David Kiersey, Katherine Briggs, and Isabel Briggs are discussed relevant to personality temperaments and types. Departing from stereotypical and antiseptic views of personality types, the author weaves descriptions of Kiersey's four basic temperaments of human behavior with Christian spirituality and prayer. At the conclusion of the journey, the reader is equipped to begin a new journey; one of self-revelation, growth, and discovery, filled with wonder and respect for all whose various temperaments are woven into the canvas of our lives.

Insightful and Challenging
This book is very insightful , but not as fun a read as other books that merely help us to understand and appreciate temperament. Prayer and Temperament challenges us not only to accept ourselves and others, it challenges us to develop the areas that are less comfortable , to become less a caricature of our temperament and more fully human. I know several people who have found it particularly helpful for understanding and praying for family members, but it takes a more mature person to accept the challenge to die to self and to accept the fullness of life. I recommend not only reading it, but trying the suggestions for prayer.

Highly recommend it
Although geared toward Roman Catholics, Christians of all denominations can benefit from the book. In the back is even a short appendix to determine your own "Myers-Briggs" personality type. There is a lot of depth in this book. It would serve well as a fun "elective" book for a Bible study group -- everyone finds out their personality type, better understands what it means, and then better understands themselves spiritually in light of their type. The book also suggests what you can work on to develop yourself out of the constraints of your comfort zone. Worth buying.

Best Resource for Victorian Weddings
I absolutely loved this best. I love the victorian era and this book let you see how it all began. It talks about the courtship that lead up to the marriage of Victoria and Albert. What was worn, what the bride carried, proper ettiquete, the decorations, how the families were involved. There is also tips on how you can have a victorian wedding. I used quite a bit of resources from this book for my own victorian wedding. It also has great colord pictures.

Victorian Weddings
This book is not for brides only. It is for everyone who would like to recapture the romance of a Victorian wedding. It has beautiful pictures, great ideas and resources.

There is something old for those who want to learn about the actual customs, traditions, fashions, and etiquette of Victorian weddings, and there is something new for those who want to plan a wedding now in the romantic Victorian tradition. And for those who enjoy the pure romance of it all, there is a chapter on notable Victorian weddings, those that were impressive then as well as now, beginning with that of the one who started it all, Queen Victoria. This is a beautiful book from beginning to end.

Romantic Victorian Weddings Then and Now
This book has everything the lover of romance and Victoriana could ask for! It is full of helpful historical information as well as practical advice that can be used for a beautiful wedding in the Victorian theme.

I could almost smell the fragrances
This is one reference book that I read cover to cover, not wanting to miss a single wonderful idea. I bought the book mainly because I have a huge rose garden and wanted potpourri recipes, but I was enraptured by every chapter, including making sachets, door hangings, and dried arrangements, and the section on the centuries-old "meanings" that have been attached to many flowers. There is even an intriquing recipe for making "wet" potpourri, a concoction that I had never heard of before but now intend to try! This book is beautiful, nicely organized, and well written. I could almost smell the scents and see the colorful gardens as I read. A must have selection.

The Scented Room
This book is wonderful. I have had this book for about ten years and, although I have purchased many beautiful books since, this one remains a favorite. The pictures are beautiful and the instructions are easy to follow. Also, sources for purchasing any ingredients you would need are listed at the back of the book. Buy it -- you will cherish it!

very descriptive, good for amateurs
i've had this book for two days and i love it. it truly inspires me. its easy to read and the fragrant recipes are simple and inexpensive to make. i created my first dried floral arrangement and i was amazed with the results. i love to walk into a room and be surrounded by pretty flowers and nice aromas. you can definitely achieve that with the help of this book. enjoy!

Great Supplement! A Must Have!
I have both cards and book and this book is truly a wonderful help in helping read the cards. It is illustrated and the explantations are straight and to the point. I highly advise a novice to get the book, since it is much easier to use than the small inserts given with the decks of cards. I personally just won't purchase one without the other if it is available. Enjoy!

Imaginative!
The cards as well as the book are artistic, and strike the imagination. You can compare the meanings to the cards as well as the story lines of the Arthurian Legend for further insights along with the Tarot. While I think that the author should have been a bit more accurate with the elements relating to the cards, I still think that one can certainly begin to appreciate the art, imagination, and accuracy of the Tarot.

excellent book!
For anyone looking for a more in depth tarot book, this one delivers completely! You won't be disappointed.

Los Secretos De Las Obras De Arte/What Great Paintings Say: UN Estudio Detallado/Old Masters in Detail

Beautiful, with one fatal flaw...
This book is a beautiful edition, and serves the purpose of explaining sybolism in art quite nicely. There is, though, one flaw: Most of the large color plates are spread across the spine of the book. This is not a problem for most, but as an art student, studying the paintings with 15% lost in the spine is a problem.

Very Clear and Informative Book
I bought this book hoping that it will explain to me why some painters are so highly regarded and other copy caps are not. Book basically goes over mostly Renocence pictures and tell the story behind each painting either what it depicts in terms of symbolism or history behind it or resons and financing behind it. It is a combination History book and paintings. It tells yo that for example Boticelli's Birth of Venus is first in Ronecance for nudity but it does not tell me why her feet is crooked, why anybody else who probably did similar paintings at the same time did not get this much fame. That is what I was looking and could not find. Still looking for the right book but this book by itself is very good for the purpose of its design.

Great paintings is a great book....
I received this book as a gift from a friend. The pictures are superb, the paper is a nice heavy stock, and the text is interesting and at times humorous.

So many times we look at a painting, but we really do not see what the artist is telling us. This book will show wonderful detailed areas of the painting for close scruntity. The pages are large so it is easier to see the paintings in detail.

Whether you are an artist who paints, or have an enjoyment of the arts, you will be extremely pleased with this book.

A good book with a big surprise at the end
Marie dreams of being a ballet dancer, but cannot follow her dream without a sponsor. This book was neat because Marie could do some dancing, and had a big surprise at the end (I think the best books have a surprise at the end!)

A Shear Joy.
I loved this book from the very first page on! Marie has a tranquil life in bussling Paris, France. Her day consists of helping her parents in the family Cafe and Pension(pahn-SYOHN) or boarding house. Then meeting with Madam Gabrela for her dance lesson. Or, at least, that's how it used to be... Now, the streets of Paris are begining to fill with rebels, the air is filled with the whispers of Revolution. Change is in the wind not just for France, but for Marie personally. Some very important people begining to weave into Marie's life, giving her an idea that just might help with the Country's poverty problems. I absolutly loved this book! It provided such a vivid picture of France and her people, at such a difficalt time in it's history. This book taught me not only about France's Revolution, but parts of it's lanuage as well. Try it. You'll love it!

Marie is my favorite girlhood journeys girl!
Marie is really cool! An invatation to dance s the beginning of her adventures! The best part was the suprise at the end! I think you'll like it!
