The Most Comprehensive Occult/Parapsychology Encyclopedia
This is a synthesis of two one-volume works: Fodor's Encyclopaedia of Psychic Science and Spence's Encyclopaedia of Occultism. But it also surpasses them by revisions and additional up-to-date information. Although I haven't read the entire two volumes, I must say that I'm impressed by the comprehensive nature of the set. It includes articles about modern occult magicians like Isaac Bonewits and doesn't leave out critics of the paranormal such as James Randi. Also check out the 4-vol. Encyclopedia of Philosophy, 24-vol. Man, Myth & Magic (Cavendish, editor), 2-vol. Encyclopedia of Freemasonry by Albert Mackey, and Bernard McGinn's series of books on Western Mysticism. All recommended.

This exhaustive reference tool is arranged alphabetically by topic--from Absenteeism to Zoning Ordinances. From the Introduction: "The Encyclopedia of Small Business serves as a one-stop source for valuable and in-depth information on a wide range of small business topics including: Advertising Media on the Web, Balancing Career and Family, Business Start-ups, Employee Compensation, Family-owned Enterprises, Financing, Franchising, Health Insurance Options, Home-based Businesses, International Marketing, Internet Commerce, Minority Business Development, Product Development, Tax Planning. In addition, special emphasis is given to how these issues - many of which face businesses of all sizes and industries - affect small businesses, from new to well-established family business to rapidly growing enterprises poised for expansion into new markets and emerging industries. Finally, EOSB is written so that it is accessible and relevant to entrepreneurs and small business owners from a variety of backgrounds. Whether the Encyclopedia's user is an entrepreneur fresh form the hallways of the corporate world, an established business owner grappling with work force management issues, a veteran freelancer seeking to expand her client base, or a retiring business owner looking to pass his business on to the next generation, EOSB contains a great deal of valuable information to help guide the entrepreneur's efforts."

The Essence of Stigler
Published in Hardcover by Hoover Inst Pr (1986)
Authors: Kurt R. Leube, George Joseph Stigler, and Thomas Gale Moore
Amazon base price: $34.95
Average review score:

It's worth
This is a set of papers written by Stigler in his marvelous career. It is divided into 5 parts: I. Contributions to economics; 2. contributions to political economics; 3. contributions to industrial organization; 4. history of economic thought; 5. the wit of George Stigler.

It is very difficult to gather all these 23 articles in only one place. The book is worth because you can find a bunch of deep knowledge.

Enjoy the book, revisit old ideas very clear and well written, and perhaps get other ones.

Ethical Issues in College Writing
Published in Paperback by Peter Lang Publishing (1999)

Amazon base price: $29.95

Ethics in the Humanities
Ethical Issues in College Writing is one of the most substantive collections of essays dealing with the complex topic of ethics that I have ever read. All of the essays are informative, articulate, clearly written, and brimming with ideas. It is obvious that the editors chose major scholars for their contributors. Equally impressive is the range of the approaches, from clasical rhetoric to contemporary theory of the rhizoid. I strongly recommend this collection to anyone interested in the role of ethics in the humanities classroom. This book will establish itself as a major influence over the coming decades. As I teacher, I plan to assign some of the readings to my students.

Eugene O'Neill's "Long Day's Journey into Night ": A Study Guide from Gale's "Drama for Students"

Well-organized & helpful guide to a timeless masterpiece!
I read "Long Day's Journey into Night" as a prelude to seeing the current Broadway production, starring Vanessa Redgrave and Brian Dennehy (and I am now really looking forward to seeing the stage production!) and I purchased this downloadable guide for further literary depth. It certainly provided me with that!

I would recommend this guide to students of all ages. I graduated from college 14 years ago and I still found the biographical information, plot summary, character descriptions, themes, style, historical content, critical overview and criticisms enlightening.

A fine book by a first-rate nature writer . . .
Lawrence, a naturalist and newspaper columnist, knows a great deal about a great many things, and she parades her knowledge graciously and triumphantly in this field guide to familiar wildlife. The book is not an identification manual. Rather it collects short essays on topics ranging from fall wildflowers to shooting stars. All are solidly researched and elegantly written, and throughout run Lawrence's gentle humor and original insights. I recommend this book to nature lovers everywhere!
