This is an engaging, well-written first novel.
Keeper of the Light is a well-written, well-researched, and dramatic story of a young woman in the 1870s who tries to carry on as keeper of a lighthouse on Lake Superior after her father's death. Despite conflicts with her mother, who wishes to moves to town, and the prevailing attitude of most male characters that she is unable to fulfill these duties, Faith Sutton, the young protagonist, remains committed to her mission and, in an exciting climax to the book's action, becomes a heroine. I found the book to be dramatic and well-written, especially the descriptive passages about nature and the duties of lighthouse-keeping. The minor characters, especially Faith's younger brother, Willy, and her best friend, Cassie, are well-depicted. The book held my attention throughout and I would highly recommend it to young readers or adults interested in children's literature.

Lake of Fire smokes
Lake of Fire is one of the most amazing books I have ever read. I couldn't put it down. If you are interested in cults, this is the book for you. But it's also funny, sad and warm. I gave this to my daughter to read and she loved it.

Instant Classic
One Hundred Years of Solitude tells the story of several generations of a Colombian family while supernatural occurrences and unbelievable events are described with unblinking sincerity. Marquez, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1982, commands such mastery of language that his prose reads like verse. The beauty of his words wraps the reader inextricably into the fates of the Buendias. Their loves, their wars, their brutality, their death and dreams, are all told with Marquez's special gift of prose. One Hundred Years of Solitude is probably Marquez's finest work, destined to be a classic of world literature.

Great Book to see How She Truly lived her life
Gilman was a woman who went through much pain and suffering this book tells of her life being taken away from her by her Psychiatrist whom she hated for the rest of her. She speaks of being put on the Rest Cure for Post-Pardom Depression and how the doctors told her not to have anymore children. She speaks of her 8 years being locked up in her own house and in an insane asylum and she tells how her doctor put her on a regamine for the rest of her life. She also speaks of how she was not able to write and generate what she loved most--writing; because her doctor told her not too. She speaks of her publication of her first short stories and "The Yellow Wallpaper" and many others of her stories. She also or the author also speaks of how Gilman commits suicide in the end. It gets really depressing, but you really see how Psychologists thought in the 19th century and how a great writer had to live her life.

Really fun book! Full of puzzles, counting and mystery!
On every page of this book, you are challenged to seek and count, to study the treasure map, to use logic and observation, and to follow directions to find the clues and ultimately the treasure. The book is written in a comic book format, with lots of very detailed illustrations. My 6 year old enjoys me reading the book to her, as she solves the mystery; an older child would enjoy reading it for himself and unraveling the mystery. Each challenge is answered as part of the story on the next page. My daughter has enjoyed it so much, that now I'm buying it for all my neices and nephews.

A very good biography and reference book on Pope JP II
This is a very good biography of Pope John Paul II.

Among the entries which I found especially useful are the list of cardinals created by the Pope and the list of saints and beati canonized by him.
