Alers never disappoints me. Loved Kenyon and Shumba's story. Who says change destroys a relationship, love conquers all!

Sims once again displays her talent for writing in this bueatifully written novella. Alana and Nico's story was very touching. It is great to have a friend around when a love one dies, but it is lovely to have someone to love always!

Hill's Masquerade was my favorite novella in "Love Letters." Hill shows her writing skills in this one. "Masquerade" was a fun and enjoyable read! Much love to all authors!!

I read the whole book, but the one story I wanted to read over again was the one by Janice Sims. she just knows how to make vivid stories. Her romantic novels, to me, reign supreme. I am a blackman and if she can get a blackman to read such books then she most certainly has the knack for this type of writing. Even though she says she hasn't written her definitive work yet, I just can't wait to read what ever that work is that she sees as the definition of her talent. Indeed if not all of her books end up being made into a movie at least one of them should. Plus she is a poet too, you can't get better than that. Get this book and all over he other books. Janice Sims will soon be one of the writers we will always be talking about, don't take my word for it. Read the book for yourself.

Love Letters was a really good book and I really enjoyed Kenyon and Shumba story my heart with out for Shumba. I just wanted him to have her so bad. There was so much love there between them two the second time around,it is a must read book but Hearts of Gold is a must read short story in book.

I think DelNegro is a fabulous storyteller. I enjoy reading Lucy Dove to my daughter's friends, especially at sleepovers...and let's not forget about Oct. 31st! The images Gore illustrated are so beautifully errie. You feel like you have stepped right into this Celtic tale. As both an author and illustrator for children's books, I can truly appreciate the craftmanship that went into this wonderful book. I Hope there will be another retold or original tale, soon? I certainly will be the first in line!

I am lucky enough to know Janice and have heard her telling of this story which she has put into print. If you are not so lucky, the book does an excellent job of capturing her haunting, original tale. The ghostly illustrations set the mood for a graveyard trek. Lucy, the elderly and brave heroine, has that look of determination of one who will not be put down.

In almost lyrical prose, inspired by traditional Celtic lore, an elderly woman is the brave heroine who sets out to meet a challenge issued by the laird. The illustrations support, rather than compete, with this tale of a strong woman, but it is the words, imagined in the minds of readers or listeners, that truly cast the spell.

Lucy Dove is up for the challenge of seeing if there really is a ghost in the graveyard. She takes the challenge and succeeds, overcoming the odds and beating the monster. With all of the urban legend hype nowadays, Lucy Dove proves one urban legend in her town true- and lives to tell the tale!

A positive addition to my book collection. I just wish it had more pages.

The photographs in Hal Eastman's book are of things only once of this world; dancers and rocks and water and grass. These photographs rip through the fabric of nature and movement, and deliver a new world, an ethereal plane between natural and painted, movement and still. On this new plane, the body is more lovely, the colors of our world more vibrant, entropy halted into the calm of the moment. My notion is that in the infinitesimal time lost in a blink, there exists dancers and a world of order and beauty, and now, in these photographs, I can see them clearly.

I am an adventurous cook, and I'm skilled at putting complex meals together, and on time. I have a collection of more than 100 cookbooks, and this is the one that gets pulled out for EVERY dinner party, every special event: it is without question, an incredible resource! My copy is falling apart from overuse. Most recipes have long lists of spices, but the actual preparation is simple. Excellent substitutions (ex: orange roughy for pink snapper, not normally found on the mainland) are recommended, and the suggested wine pairings are very helpful. I have tried 74 of the 118 recipes; there are only 2 that I would not ever try again.

I had seen this book since my college undergraduate years at various bookstores. Recently, Honolulu Magazine (August 2001) listed this books as a possible "collector's item," since it is now out of print. Although I begged everybody to buy it for me as a birthday present, I just couldn't wait any longer. I ended up buying it for myself. I like to read it before going to sleep at night in my futon.
The book originally sold for $... in 1994. I was very lucky to buy it used for $..., from another used bookseller.

so many delicous recipes and pictures. the recipes i cooked, made my family and i feel like we were actually in hawaii in a fancy resteraunt. delicoius! i look forward to more books on this subject!

Lehmberg and Knapp have given the readers some memorable anecdotes about artists and their art forms as we travel from Revolutionary War era to Twentieth Century. It is an enjoyable guide for all ages

Your kids will gain a whole new understanding of the art they see in a museum. And adults can learn a thing or two as well.

Not only is this an invaluable book for children, but also for adults. I read a copy of the book before I went on a date. She was fascinated by the facts which I had gleamed from the book. Needless to say we are going out again, this time to see a French Impressionist exhibit! Good thing Knapp and Lehmberg wrote two other books!!!

No wonder I haven't been getting royalties on this book! Well, it could be revived soon; Arena Stage Theater, in D.C. is in the process of adapting it for stage. So, there! Author, Janice Daugharty

It's a shame that writers as gifted as Janice Daugharty don't get more attention. While the big publishing Goliaths spend millions promoting name-brand authors who churn out formulaic clap-trap, someone in New York should have the courage to do what it takes to introduce this superb writer to a broader reading public. Each line of Pawpaw Patch is a well-placed stroke of the pen which paints a vivid, colorful portrait of the very human citizens of Cornerville, Georgia. No writer has come closer to the truth.

Janice Daugharty's book jacket photo shows a middle-aged woman seated in a white wicker chair, wearing a prim, sailor-collared dress. If one were to judge by appearances only, one might expect stories about quilting bees and square dancers. Well, there is dancing in "Pawpaw Patch," but it's clogging, not square-dancing. And there are beauty pageants, and "mothers in corn-smudged frocks" and folks trading pickles for legal advice. However quaint this may seem, there is nothing cute about Cornerville, where Chanell Foster's beauty shop is the center of social activity. This is a seemingly modern town where people dress in Ralph Lauren and watch "Knot's Landing," but continue to call blacks "Negroes." Chanell and her customers are just one step removed from separate drinking fountains. When one of her childhood friends starts a vicious, racist rumor, driving her business away, Chanell is forced to confront her own prejudices and, later, those of the townspeople who have turned against her. Daugharty tells this twist-filled tale in a voice that is as rich as mississippi mud pie. Every few paragraphs I found myself pausing to savor a particularly apt image - "cup handle ears," peacock tail feathers "sweeping the corn rows like the tulle train of a wedding gown." She also has a wonderful ear for dialogue and a genius for naming - to wit, Aunt Teat, Joy Beth and Linda Gay. Swanoochee County, the setting of Daugharty's two previous novels as well as this one, isn't paradise - not by a long shot - but it's a place readers will want to visit again and again

The author has clearly explained CRM, its premise, it application within the workplace, and its components, processes and technical underpinnings. The book provides the reader with a coherent definition and then backs it up with a CRM action plan that provides a distinct link to business essentials within the scope of a concise understanding of the broad range of processes that it takes to implement CRM. The author does a great job of explaining the necessity of bringing together the business, its processes and technology and does so in a very down to earth manner (no technospeak). The book then provides the reader with a very clear diagram of what is needed to bring a specific CRM application to fruition.

This book provides a very balanced picture of CRM. So if you need to understand CRM, its value, how it relates to business processes and what it takes to implement it, this book is for you. The checklists are invaluable and it gives you basically everything needed for a successful CRM implementation.

The book should be on the reference shelf of any manager or executive contemplating, implementing or working with CRM since it does a wonderful job of covering the business issues and technical parameters and requirements of CRM. For example, the author goes into considerable detail about how and why CRM is important to meeting business requirements and devotes many pages to the vendor and partner selection process. Furthermore, the book covers CRM from not only the IT viewpoint, but also from the departmental manager and executive office's perspective. I think it would be hard to find a book with a more comprehensive road map to CRM. Yet, the book is an easy read.

If you're involved in CRM, or are in a company that is considering CRM then this book should be your CRM Bible. It provides a thorough, well-organized treatise on all aspects of CRM. The author not only provides a full explanation of what CRM is and what CRM IS NOT, she also walks the reader through planning a business case, dealing with the human element, planning stages, project management and finally implementation. Every section is thoroughly covered, from RFP to vendor selection to outsourcing.

If you want to understand how DSL works and how to shop for a DSL provider, this is THE book to get. The authors do an excellent job of explaining DSL quickly and clearly. This is NOT one of those books written by a computer geek who understands the subject but doesn't understand how to explain it to others. After reading this book I understand how DSL works, and I was able to purchase DSL service to host a server for my business. For those who want to understand DSL but do not need to know ALL the technical details, this is the book to get.

I work for a small law firm and I've been trying to convince the partners to install a DSL line (30 employees were sharing 4 analog lines for Internet service). After purchasing and reading this book I was able to cobble together a proposal (with judicious sections of the book attached) that convinced management to purchase DSL. Although I'm not a computer network professional (I'm a paralegal) I was able to install and set up sharing of the DSL service without calling in the expensive network consultant we normally use. The book made installation and sharing very easy.

Thanks to this book the personnel in my office can now get on and off the Internet any time they wish.

The author explained DSL, its advantages and disadvantages so clearly that even our most computer phobic partner had no trouble understanding what I was talking about.

I've been wrestling with DSL, Cable, Satellite, Wireless for many months. I wanted a high speed connection for my home but found digging through the confusing technology impossible. Then I found and read Ms. Reynolds book. She does a fantastic job of explaining DSL, what it is, how to get it, why you can't get it, etc. I am no longer confused. Thank you Ms. Reynolds!

This is on my list of Most Favorite Books Ever! I've looked for SHADY GROVE for years as a gift for people I love, but it's been long out of print. Thank goodness it's again available. The book, which is about the Sudley Fowler family of Broke Neck, Ky, including their relationships--regular and irregular---moonshining, Lonelyhearts letters, government men, picking and grinning, hound dogs, getting "on the draw," and that old time relgion.
Mostly, though, it's about a way of life unique in all the world, and there's a belly laugh on every page.
Oh, gentlemen, you are mortally going to love this one!

I love this book. It is the funniest book that I have ever read. I could just picture them running up on that porch in that old car that was out of control. Every time I get slightly depressed, I re-read this book. I will always have a copy. It's good medicine.

This is the funniest book I have ever read. After reading the first page, I could not put it down. I wanted to know why that preacher wound up with a guitar around his neck. I wanted to know why the television crew was there in Broke Neck. This book is for everyone who enjoys a good laugh. It is just pure fun from the first page to the last.

The ideas and tools offered up in Janice's book are positioned for business leaders, but are useful for the other half of your waking hours. Janice includes many stories outside the work place that demonstrate how her ideas impact the personal life of her clients and herself. Well read or trained business people will be familiar with a lot of the concepts, what is unique and useful is; the different perspective, the connection of the ideas and the exercises Janice presents to the reader. The understanding of human nature gained as a psychotherapist is clear in each chapter as Janice explains how to change the way people behave in organizations. The ideas and tools are carefully woven into a logical progression throughout the book, however you can get value by starting anywhere or reading a single chapter. At the end of each short chapter you will find some exercises often phrased as questions to the reader. I found the exercises very useful for putting the ideas into action. The saying good things come in small packages applies here, a physically small book with a big impact.

I picked up Janice Calnan's book mostly out of curiosity since I have a keen interest in the smooth implementation of new projects and ideas. Shortly thereafter, and with very little warning, organizational convulsions suddently started to happen. My department was changed overnight. Some people were let go, others reassigned, new roles were in store for those that remained. "Change" was now very up close, personal and not a lot of fun. The book helped me focus on the right things in order to get through it all.

The "secrets" are a collection of new and simple ideas that caused a shift in my assumptions and behaviours. Once I began to think about and understand the concepts over a period of time, I found it much easier to manage my emotions and produce results.

Janice Calnan's book SHIFT was brought to me about a month ago while I was conducting workshops at a government accountability conference in Ottawa. In just the five minutes I had to scan the opening "Letter to the Reader" and Introduction, I knew I was onto something special. I have been involved in the work of quality and organizational improvement for about 20 years. I am a certified "business book junkie," consuming dozens of titles a year. Janice Calnan's SHIFT is a remarkable piece of work. Ms. Calnan offers a simple, clear path for people to begin the process of personal change needed to craft more effective and successful organizations. It is obvious that Janice Calnan has spent a great deal of time working with, and learning from people at all levels of organizational structures. She has distilled the complex and seemingly arcane art of organizational improvement into a clear and transformational process.
