Disneyland the Nickel Tour,2nd Edition
If you love Disneyland and its history, you will LOVE this book. It features every postcard that has been published by Disneyland. What makes this book special is that they feature other photos to flesh out the full story. You relive every trip you've made to the park. If you do have a collection of the postcards, a checklist is also featured. This book was everything I had hoped for and more!

The Finest Disneyland History In Print!
We're just glad this book is back in print for all to enjoy! With first editions now selling for over $200, it's great to see the 2nd edition just in time for Disneyland's 45th Anniversary. The story of Walt Disney and Disneyland is told through the history of Disneyland souvenir postcards from 1955 thru the present. Bruce Gordon and David Mumford are to be commended for this true labor of love. The book is jam packed with hundreds of color and black & white photos (as well as images of the original Disneyland postcards); and the accompanying text accurately tells the story of Walt Disney's creative vision for a new form of family entertainment. Beautifully bound and printed with quality materials. A fascinating read from cover to cover! Bravo!

An E-Ticket literary ride
The Nickel Tour is ostensibly a pictorial tour of Disneyland's history through a presentation of every postcard the Park has ever offered. However it is so much more. Written by Walt Disney Imagineers Bruce Gordon and David Mumford, the books gives fans a glimpse behind the scenes of both Disneyland and its development wing- Imagineering. Want to know when an attraction opened? It's in there. Want to know the history of that attraction? It's in there. How about "what might have been"? Yup, it's in there too. If you are fan of Disneyland, or just Disney, you will love this book. The writing is fantastic, the images wonderful, and the inside info is priceless.

Well Aged: Dining With Dignity

Great for the whole family!
Although "Well Aged" is a book that has been designed to assist caregivers in providing healthful and ability-appropriate meals for elderly people, I have found that many of the recipes are great for the whole family. Kids love the flavor, but what they may not realize is that they have just had a few full servings of veggies! The recipes are so straight forward, making them quick and easy to prepare after a day at the office (and the kids can help too). Someday I may end up looking after my parents as they age, and I will be greatful to have a guide like this around. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for healthy, delicious meals that can please everyone.

Delicious Dining - With Dignity.
If you care for, or just visit with an elder, you need this book. It answers a need with elegant and simple tips and recipes for meals served to the elderly or disabled. No condescension here, just a thread of respect for our veteran citizens, ingenious eating utensils, and flavorful (I've tried it.) food.
The book is beautiful to look at, with easy to follow recipes and elegant color photographs.

Well Aged: Dining with Dignity
This beautiful and thoughful cook book offers a wonderful selection of "comfort" foods with high nutritional value for the elderly and/or disabled person. Since nutrition is a key factor in health and longevity, Walters has highlighted the needs for certain foods and collected easy-to-make recipes focusing on those needs. In addition, the Introduction and Tableware sections have valuable and innovative tips for those caring for the elderly. I highly recommend this book!

Beware the Fish

Project Popcan, confusion and fun
My favourite Bruno and Boots book. This is hilarious, and not just for kids.

Absolutely cool and funny
Beware the Fish is one of our favourite books. The story is very clever. One of our favourite parts of the book was when Elmer was singing about science and math. Another good part was when Elmer's cold cure was put in Coach Flynn's drink. It made him so drunk that he ran aroud in his underwear and asked Miss Scrimmage to dance. The book was great because it was funny and it will make you laugh. A fabulous story!! Ryan "Rhino" Mills, Shawn "Slam Dunk" Pascal, Jeff "Gretzky" Hay, Pemberton British Columbia, Canada.

Bruno and Boots Strike Again!!
The author of my book Beware The Fish! is Gordon Korman. Gordon Korman wrote his first book This Can't Be Happening At MacDonald Hall! as a Grade 7 english project. In my book Beware The Fish the main characters are Bruno Walton and Boots O'Neal. They are kind hearted teenagers but like to play tricks. Boots has blond hair and blue and Bruno has brown hair and brown eyes. They live at MacDonald Hall, a boarding school for Boys in Ontario, Canada. They are roommates in Room 306, Dormatory 3. The problem is MacDonald Hall is closing! Bruno, Boots, and the rest of the students want to save the school. They decide to get publicity by getting the school on TV. They decide to set a world record to get publicity. They try to build the world's largest popcan tower. The way they get the school is very funny! I liked the book because I have read 3 other Bruno and Boots books and this is the second best book. I liked the author because Gordon Korman makes me laugh in different ways. A strengh is that Gordon Korman taught me that teamwork achives your goals, hopes, and maybe your dreams. A weakness is that people sometimes think that humor books have nonthing to teach you about the meaning of life. Now I have 2 questions for Gordon Korman. Why did you pick the names Bruno and Boots for your main characters? Why did you make a series of them? I loved this book and I would read it 10 more times.

The thrilling second book in the Island trilogy.
Ian, Luke, Charla, and Will have survived a terrible shipwreck and one week on the open seas with no food and scarce water. Now, they have landed on a tropical island in the middle of nowhere. Will is suffering from amnesia, and the kids don't even know if J.J. and Lyssa are still alive. The only human beings on this lonely island, they must make a fire, build a shelter, and gather food and water to sustain them, in addition to searching for Will, who has run off into the jungle. When a plane lands on the island, the kids hope to be rescued, but instead, they find themselves in the middle of some very dangerous and illegal dealings. Now the kids have a far bigger problem than simple survival. They have to hide all traces of their existence, or they won't have any hope at all of making it out of this alive. Gordon Korman continues his thrilling Island trilogy with book two, which picks up right where book one left off. I can't wait to read the third book and find out if !the kids survive and make it off the island.

5-star Book(Island2survival)
Im here to tell you about a book i read. My book is called Island2survival. It is one book out of a series of three. This book ihas 138 pages. The author of this book is Gorden Korman. He also wirtes other three series books.
The genre of this book is realistic fiction and adventure. It is realistic fiction becauseit could happen in real life. It is adventure becausethe kids have to survive ont he island.
The setting of this story is: on an uncharted island over the summer. The plot is that six kids get shipwrecked on an uncharted island. They have to find food and build shelter to survive. Later on in the book they find out there are smugglers on the island that sell illegal animal parts. Whenever they hear the plane, they have to put out the fire and take all the food and supplies off the beach, and take them into the jungle where the smugglers cant see them.
There are some reasons i like this book. They are:The kids were trapped ont he island alone, they are on an island that has a big jungle, and because they have to be careful because there are smugglers on the island.
The reccomended age group i would think is nine years old and up,because it has some scenesthat younger kids wouldnt understand and it has one killing part in it.
This was a great book. Iwould reccomend you to read it.
GOOD-Bye

Through the Valley of the Kwai

To End All Wars (Through the Valley of Kwai)
I was privileged to know the author of "Through the Valley of the Kwai", Rev. Ernest Gordon, for many years. Ernest Gordon died January 16, 2002. He has always been and will forever remain my hero. His story, first published in 1962, was republished in the 1980's as "Miracle on the River Kwai" and will enter its third printing February 2002 under yet another title, "To End All Wars". It is a powerful and moving first-hand account of how faith, love, fellowship, and the enduring human spirit transcended the unthinkable horrors and hatred of war and transformed the hearts and lives of men on both sides of the battle line. After recently attending Rev. Gordon's memorial service, we were presented with an unbelievable and sobering gift: a preview screening of a new movie, "To End All Wars", based on Ernest Gordon's book and scheduled for release around August 15, 2002. I would encourage every adult reader to see this powerful, disturbing, and ultimately victorious film. Just weeks before his death Rev. Gordon attended a private screening of the long-anticipated movie along with the movie's producer, Jack Hafer. After the screening, Rev. Gordon slowly approached the anxious producer and with strong emotion in his Scottish brogue proclaimed, "Jack, you caught the heart of it." Like his book, this movie has the power to change you! May the heart of it "catch" you, too.

One of the 10 best books I have read in 56 years.
The book is primarily about the disintegration and reconstruction of the personal ties between the prisoners in the POW camp that built the Bridge over the River Kwai. An astonishing piece of honest reporting by the author who lived it. It is not about the bridge. The book begins in the early stages of the Pacific part of World War II, with an extrodinary adventure by the author, a Scottish Merchant Seaman, to leave South East Asia before the Japanese caught him. A friend was kind enough to loan me a copy of the book in the late 1970's. Enough already! *grin*. I liked it, you will probably like it too.

A Profound Story
This book is profound and potentially life changing. This book really fleshes out what it means to take the example of Jesus Christ seriously and the ramifications that might have in our "universe". It is an easy and enjoyable book to read -- hard to put down.

The Dragon Knight

Another great read of mid-evil battle
This is another good book in the dragon series. If you liked the first you will surely like this one. The one disappointment I had with this book was that it leads you to believe there is much magic involved with the plot. However, in the final grudge there is really no magic but more strategy and war than any magic battle. The final ending does bring you back up to speed with an unsusspected surprise. Once again the mid-evil thriiler will grab you in the end and bring you back to the next book in the series.

A great book with a real view on medival life plus magic
This book is very exciting and does a good job how life was probably like in the middle ages, but it also has alot of suspence and action, and alot of times when you can't help to wonder how Jim(aka the Dragon Knight) can get out of his situation. It also has the interesing twist of comedy that makes you laugh every once and a while. This was a very good book but, I still like The Dragon and the George, better then this one, but they are both pretty simular. Never the less, this is a great book and I recomend it

An incredible story full of magic and adventure!
This incredible book takes the best characteristics of a fantasy book and mixes them with a very particular way of seing every-day life during the Middle Ages. The author narrates the story with the fine humour that we see in all his work, capturing the reader with the crazy situations in which Jim and Brian are involved and trying to show us how beautiful and horrible can a life surrounded by magic and by unusual things can be. An excellent book full of magic, fantasy and optimism that any reader will enjoy a great deal!!!

Driving Ambition: The Official Inside Story of the McLaren F1

Authors: Doug Nye, Ron Dennis, and Gordon Murray
Amazon base price: $65.95
Average review score:

A Must-Have for McLaren F1 Fans and Car Enthusiasts Alike
Written with F1 designer Gordon Murray and McLaren Cars head Ron Dennis, Doug Nye's Driving Ambition is to car books what the F1 is to production road cars. In its 12in x12in, 272-page embossed hardcover format, Nye begins with the background of McLaren Cars and its legendary founder Bruce McLaren, and takes the reader through the ideas and concepts leading to the dream, commitment, talent and development of the F1. Probably never-before-published photos of F1 designer Gordon Murray's hand-written notes, sketches and F1 patents accompany exquisitely detailed full- and two-page color photos of the F1, including snapshots of the F1 during every phase of its development and subsystem prototypes. Nye writes lucid details and quotes, tying chronological events to the day. The F1's brief but glorious racing history is charted with the results of each McLaren in every race. One may be left in awe after reading Nye's transcript of the incredible 240-mph+ high speed runs at VW's test track in Germany, firmly establishing the McLaren F1 as the official fastest production road car in the world (now published in the Guinness Book of World Records). If the performance capabilities, colorful racing success and visual perfection weren't enough for the general car enthusiast to appreciate, reading Driving Ambition will reveal why so many regard the million-dollar price tag justifiable for what may be the best road car built--ever. The execution of this dedicated book, in content and substance, is worth every penny, and does honor to the car, designer and team that brought this dream car to reality. With the collaboration of Gordon Murray, Ron Dennis and McLaren Cars, this beautifully printed book is the definitive reference work on the McLaren F1, and by which all other F1 books will be judged. If you're a collector, get your copy now!

This is a great book.
Driving Ambition "The Official Story of The McLaren F1" is a great book because it explains many things about the McLaren F1, from the thought of the car to the winning of the famous LeMans race. The book is 272 pages long, it has over 600 photographes and illustrations (the pictures in the book are great), it is hard covered and jacketed, and the book comes with a McLaren poster. Buy the book if you like McLarens, besides all you have to do is get a credit card type some numbers and wait a little while. Its worth it.

An engineer's delight!
"Driving Ambition: The Official Inside Story of the McLaren F1" is an absolutely delightful book, especially from an engineer's perspective. It thoroughly and entertainingly tells the story of how an engineer and his team can achieve their creative dreams if allowed maximum latitude.

The overall quality of the text, diagrams and photographs is excellent. And it won't disappoint motorsport fans, either! This book would be well worth twice the asking price.

Thorough review and great practical exercises
As a Spanish teacher I was delighted to find such a grammar gem on the market for Spanish students at all levels. I bought the book with the intention of using it as a guide and review of many difficult grammar concepts in Spanish and I definitely was pleased with the grammar material and brief cultural readings that are included in the book. The book covers all key grammar concepts that must be mastered in order to speak Spanish confidently and with superior grammar control. The book contains twenty-eight valuable chapters in which key grammar concepts such as verb conjugation and verb usage, tenses and moods of verbs, the passive voice and other key elements are analyzed. The heavy emphasis on verbs and verb usage is indicative of the quality of this book especially since the ability to conjugate and use verbs correctly are the key to mastering any language. The practice exercices are also very valuable and readily force the student to apply the knowledge learned in the chapter thus understanding the practical use of verbs, prepositions, idiomatic expressions or whatever the grammatical concept may be. This book is definitely one of the most handy Spanish grammar tools available and can always be used as a reference for clarification of one's queries in Spanish be it a written grammar concept or an oral query. The purchase of this grammar book will enable you to fortify your Spanish and clarify many grammatical querires. A highly recommended purchase.

A Lot of Book for the Money.
If you have already studied Spanish and want to strengthen your skills, this is the book for you. It would also be a good supplementary text for first, second and third year students of college level Spanish. Better than most books that cost twice it's price, it not only gives you clear, well thought-out, and well organized descriptions of all the essential grammar points in Spanish, it also includes copious exercises to drive the points home. This "workbook" aspect of the book is an invaluable asset, since once you have understood the grammar point, you still need to practice it a bit make it second nature. I guarantee that if you work you way through this whole book and absorb its contents, you'll have a very good grasp of Spanish indeed. Coupled with something like the Pimsleur courses, a person could get quite fluent is six months of solid daily study.

Spanish Learning Made Easy
I have studied Spanish at the college level before, but since then have not had the opportunity to practice speaking or writing except in informal settings with friends, while traveling, etc. So when I needed to speak with a Spanish client for business, I found my conversation and writing skills somewhat lacking. I turned to "The Ultimate Spanish Review and Practice" after having it recommended to me by a few business associates. After one month of working intensively through the book, I feel much more confident in my formal Spanish skills. The book is well thought out, organized into 28 chapters, each focusing on a different topic. Starting with the present tense of verbs and other basic language topics and progressing through the subjunctive and other advanced forms, it provides a comprehensive text to learn and perfect both oral and written Spanish. The explanations and examples of each topic are very clear, and the exercises provide a challenging test of the subject matter presented in each chapter. The short and lively cultural notes add an authentic touch to the language, and provide interesting observations of Spanish and Latin American culture. I found Part IV particularly helpful as it included chapters on common idioms and frequently found errors that have helped my conversation skills measurably. Although targeted at intermediate and advanced learners, I can see the text helping beginners as well, and I have recommended it for associates and friends. In sum, this is a very helpful and comprehensive review of Spanish.
