I'll admit, if this book hadn't been required reading for a class I took on East Asian folklore, I probably never would've read "Gesar!" But, having read it, I have definitely gained a greater appreciation for the Tibetan cultural tradition.

"Gesar!" is a simply told story, understandable by all ages. Despite many culturally-specific elements, this is a universal story.

If you are looking for a less well-known epic tale, or just want a good read, I recommend "Gesar!"

My room is not the neatest room on earth but it is not the messiest either. It is one of those rooms in between. I would like to have the time to have it be more organized, but it never seems like I have enough time. This book helped me organize everything in my life including time, my room, my schoolwork, my goals, and what I want to save my money for. It helped me not by only having ideas written on the page of the book, but made me think of my own ideas and actually made me want to get organized. My room is now more organized, I have more time on my hands to do things I enjoy, I am not losing my homework every night, and I now spend my money more wisely and end up having what I got the same day I got it--(Not spending it right when I got it). If you need a book that is not so thick that you never think you will finish it, but a book that gives you a lot of information, this is the book to get to help you organize everything in your life! :)

The book is extremely well organized, as well as having well thought out examples and guidelines that can contrribute toward the effective marketing of an individual person's book, or even a for-profit business or non-profit organization. I've also used the book as a recommended teaching tool in a course called "Getting Publicity for Writers and Others." I look forward to buying the 3rd edition as soon as it comes out!

I came upon this book by chance and immediately had to buy it. For anyone struggling with religion and spirituality this book is for you. The book will inspire you to look beyond religion, to believe in yourself and others. In a few pages within the book the little dog states "I believe my friends have as much spirituality as any monk,each person carries a distinct and personal energy, we are each powerful and delicate, simultaneously." This book is fun and thoughtprovoking.

Julia Noonan's Puppy and Me books have everything I could ever wish in a preschool book--expressive illustrations painted in delicious colors, an adorable baby and her puppy friend, and pleasing rhyming verse that rolls along with the ease of an afternoon stroll. In GOING TO THE CORNER, the curiosity with which baby meets the world outside her door--from the safety of her stroller, of course--to me captures the essence of early childhood. What will be next for baby and puppy? I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Ahh, the pictures alone are mouth watering. I suggest you might want to have a snack before reviewing this yummy experience. Have you ever been to the Caribbean? This book helped prepare me for my vacation and at times a simple meal accompanied with a light Caribbean beat, takes me back, back to my enchanted place. My favorite recipe is Grilled Baby Lamb Chops by Chef Norma Shirley at the Warfside in Jamaica. And yes I will say with the detailed instructions, after the second try, I nailed this morsel. I have prepared a few dishes for guest who are natives of the East Coast (I am from California ;o), two friends are from New York, another from Florida) and even they taste flavors that remind them of restaurants you can't find in California. Some of the ingredients are hard to find, but they do assist with information to substitute as well as where to look if you insist on having the ingredients as authentic as possible. The only bad part is, you will have no leftovers, everyone will eat everything. Buy it, for the sake of calories!

This is one of the few books available that provides activities and games for elementary students that can easily be adapted to include students with visual impairments, hearing impairments, and limited mobility. I am a fifth/sixth grade special ed. teacher and have found this book great for giving me ideas of different games I can play with my students. The directions in the book are easy to follow and so far, all games have been a hit with my students (which is quite rare!)

The musical selections are choice! The are well organized and introduced with lovely poetry and prose definatly invites one to listen all the way through again and again.

This story is great - how a little tiny mouse beats off 4 potential predators with sheer wit - and the tape is hilarious, with wonderful attention to detail which just makes it that much easier to hear for the 456th time!
