Holiday Piggyback Songs
This is a great book for teachers who need help in finding simple songs for young children to sing. All the tunes used are quite familiar and anyone can use it...even if they can't carry a tune! Most of the songs are short and simple enough to teach by rote. There are also other versions of the Piggyback songs available. A MUST HAVE for early child educators!

Piggyback songs
This is a good book for finding simple songs to the tune of songs we already know for almost any holiday.

A big, fat, lovely book

This is absolutely the finest version of the Kama Sutra available. With 224 pages and a huge page size--14-1/2" by 10-1/2", over an inch thick, printed on high quality glossy paper, and absolutely full of full color photos of erotic Indian art, including statuary and several twice-size foldouts, it would be a bargain at twice the offered price here on Amazon.

For years the Kama Sutra has been the object of admiration because of its explicit sexual content, as well as its Tantric religious application for those interested in the practices of Eastern religions. Of course many in the West have sought it out as a source of ancient pornography, but the artwork represented in this book is not as anatomically correct as that which can be found in Playboy or Hustler, and therefore is less useful for voyeuristic titillation. However, for the student of Eastern religions, especially the Tantric tradition, it will be found to be unsurpassed.

The Hindi text, both in their calligraphy and the alphabet, and fully translated into English, is beautifully done. The absolutely gorgeous large sized full-color reproductions of ancient Indian art is exquisite.

Highly recommended!

amazing! ... exotic and erotic......just beautiful!
An unbeleiveably full, large format book with the most wonderful and colorful images of erotic Indian art imaginable. This book should really be selling for $... upwards for the quality and quantity of fantastic photos and images alone. A top-quality, heavy art book, indeed.
Fold-out pages also provide large scale formats and it seems no expense was spared to create the high quality images that abound in this awe-inspiring collection of wonderful erotic masterpieces. Truly the most captivating book I now proudly own.

As a traveler and lover of all things "India", I have been waiting for a book like this for a long time to give as a gift to my husband. This is the real heart of the matter...no need to actually read the Kama Sutra when what you really want is all right here. Even without the erotic theme, this book presents some of the most wonderful art of India I have ever seen in one breathtaking book. This book is an absolute "must" for any follower of Indian art, or just anyone who appreciates the delicious and delicate sex-play and sensualities of Indian art and history. Very inspiring :), very beautiful, exotic, erotic and just plain fabulous! What more could you want? I am thrilled with this purchase..... on all levels! A+++++

An unusual political biography
Ordinarily political biography is long on the public lives of its subjects, and skimpy on the private lives, no doubt because when a political figure deposits his or her "papers" with some library or institution he or she deposits only those papers pertaining to the public or political life. This entrancing study relies on the personal letters of not only Fighting Bob LaFollette and his wife but the letters of their four children. The book follows their private lives and reflects their public lives as they affected their private lives. Thus we get a much more intimate look at the lives of the famed LaFollette family, including all four of the children: Senator Robert F. LaFollette, Jr., Governor Phil LaFollette, and the two daughters. This is a study of a very political family from a standpoint such as I never have read before. It is a highly interesting work

a well researched piece
Weisberger's book is well researched and politically accurate. A wonderful portrait of the La Follettes. Captivating.

One of the Best Yiddish Primers
This is a great book for someone just beginning to learn Yiddish or for those with some familiarity with the language to brush up and add to their knowledge. The book is easy to use and offers a variety of interesting, fun exercises. It uses both Yiddish letters and transliterated English letters. In a disarmingly simple style, using pictures, poems, songs and a range of exercises, you will pick up vocabulary and grammar. Another plus is a short history of the language and an explanation of the various Yiddish language. I've used several introductory Yiddish texts - this one is by far the best.

An organised review of the language
I began using this book knowing nothing about the language, and in a few short moinutes i was able to read and speak a few phrases. After a few weeks of reading i was able to conjugate in multiple tenses. This is a great choice for anyone who wants to learn yiddish.

My 'bible'
I have read many self-help books but this one is by far the most helpful in teaching us to see the real problems behind our struggling with life. Instead of a 'band-aid' approach that focuses on one problem at a time, Barry Ellsworth goes to the causes of our distress and teaches us what we need to do to heal the pain from our pasts. This book has been my 'bible' for the past ten years. I return to it time after time and it always helps.

Love Living In Love with Yourself
Barry Ellsworth comes across simple, clear, and direct on the topic of how you can empower and reclaim your life. The focus is like a lot of the self-help books - self-love, having the "right" perspective on life, etc. The difference is that he is down-to-earth, concise, and direct. He relates on a very personal level from events of his own life which makes what he says credible. This book has become a handbook for me in how I can transform my life. The chapters are organized such that I can refer to specific areas that I have questions on plus the index is handy in the back. All the other books give more detail, stories, elaboration, etc. but this book has it all condensed into the essence of how to transform your life

Just lovely!
My 2 year-old daughter just loves this book. While I read it to her she sits intently listening through the whole book. The words and the pictures I feel portray to her little mind how important she is to us!

Mom might enjoy it more than baby!
This is a very sweet book that would make a wonderful baby gift or 1st b-day gift. It is one of those special books that will make mommy cry happy tears...

If You Know Any Children ...
... whether they're yours or someone's else's, this book is for you. This insightful book tells it like it is -- everything you ever wanted to know about raising children, straight from the heart. If you read this and don't shed a tear, you're missing a big piece of humanity.

Hysterically funny and true to real life.
Marion Winik never ceases to amaze me with her candid and heroically revealing writing. She can evoke so many emotions about diving into that great big pool of love we call 'Family'. As a nanny, I have had so many Mothers ask me, "Am I doing this right"? And, "Do you think I'm a good Mom"? I try to stay neutral and tell them that it doesn't matter what I think, it matters what THEY think. Then I reccomend Marion's book and I always get VERY positive feedback about it. If you're a Mom; past, present or future, this book will make you feel a whole lot better about all that that entails. Your life won't be complete until you read it!

wm. marion reedy - a st. louis literary giant of the 20th ce
i am a grand, grand nephew of mr. reedy's! i have known of his lore and have long possessed the book reviewed here. it was written as a college thesis, i believe, by mr. putzel during his studies at washington u. here in st. louis.

i've long been amused by reedy's wit and daring, for st. louis was a very catholic, conservative town in the teens and twenties when his work flourished. fortunately for me, and unlike many irish families in town today, my entire family tree from its roots in clonmel, ireland to my grandparents here in st. louis have been carefully chronicled by the author.

as for reedy's contributions, carl sandburg and vachel lindsay (among others) apparently owed much of their introductory successes to reedy's "mirror", which was a literary journal of the day.

the security building in downtown st. louis continues to house businesses and professionals in its walls. at one time, my great, great uncle published his 20,000 subscriber journal for readers throughout the world. and what a life he lived outside of his office.

hope you enjoy!

A remarkable find!
It's hard to believe that a man who had such tremendous influence on American letters was all but forgotten before Max Putzel brought him back to life in this extraordinary biography. William Marion Reedy discovered and/or published many of the most important writers of his day, including Edgar Lee Masters, Vachel Lindsay, Carl Sandburg, Amy Lowell, Sara Teasdale, Theodore Dreiser and Zoe Akins. At the same time, he led a rough-and-tumble life in his native St. Louis, once even waking up after a night of hard drinking to discover he had married a local prostitute! Putzel's portrayal of Reedy in all his brilliance and decadence is one of those rare works of excellent scholarship that is also just plain fun to read. I recommend it with gusto!

A fantastic fantasy of a young boy and a special friend who needs help to get back to his fantasy world. Marion is granted one wish for helping his friend. You will be very curious to find out what the boy wished for. It kept me reading to find out the boy's wish and it will you too! Marion travels to a far off unknown world. It's a treat to find out what goes on there and the type of characters displayed. This book is a must read for children of all ages! You will truly enjoy this short story.
