A doctor who actually cares.
This book walks you through some of the experiences of a pediatric geneticist. Be prepared to "feel" as you read this book, because it will evoke thoughts, feelings and emotions. It makes you realize that for some doctors, thier job is more than a job. For some doctors, thier job is a constant life lesson, and for the rest of us, we can vicariously learn these lessons through the eyes of Dr. Marion.

The "Only" Guide you'll ever need!
This is it! Go no further. If there is anything you need to plan, complete, or source out for almost any event - this is the "Bible" of the industry! As a meeting planner I would be lost without it. I've also given these away as gifts for people who come in from out of town! Endless uses - thank you Bravo!

As a teacher, I found this title an ideal teaching tool.
The Can-Do Thanksgiving offers young children, their parents, and/or their teachers a vehicle in which to begin to explore the subject of homelessness, hunger, and the needy. Its strenth is that it's written in a format that kids can understand and have fun with. It will also give a child a feeling that perhaps in their own way they can do something. After all, we ask our kids donate cans of food to feed the hungry but it often ends there. Well, the cans do go somewhere and each one can help someone, somehow, in its own way. In The Can-Do Thanksgiving children will experience this first hand.

Upscale home decor on a budget.
Fantastic step-by-step instructions in gorgeous color photographs. This exquisite book shows its readers how to create stunning candles with a minimum of inexpensive equipment. Chic, sophisticated designs. Nothing artsy-craftsy or complicated. The overall quality of this one is superb. Lorenz Books are always among my favorites. They consistently give you the best designers and editors, plus value-priced hardcovers with glossy paper throughout.

Part of a four-book series, this is an educator's goldmine.
This four-book series is a goldmine for educators looking for practical ways to engage their students in substantive character education. The book's materials, developed and tested at one of our country's truly outstanding schools, merge solid academic content with character education. Together the books reflect a complete plan for engaging a school-community in the misson of character development. Central to the authors' [John Heidel and Marion Lyman-Mersereau] work and to the organization of the books is a school-wide, monlthly focus on a particular virtue, such as respect or courage. In this, the authors are addressing one of the core problems with our schools' efforts to respond to the current call for character education. Instead of psychobabble and talk of "inappropriate behavior" and "adjustment," their approach is a return to an older, richer language system of words, like "responsibility" and "cooperation," the language of character and human excellence.
Character formation has been described as what we do to help our young know the good, love the good adn do the good. These books address all dimensions of that description. The great power and benefit of Character Education is its appeal to the student's head, heart and hands.

All of the Borgias were strong and colorful characters who caught the world's attention whatever they did. The crimes and sins of Rodrigo Borgia (Pope Alexander VI), his children Cesare and Lucrezia, and the legends of poisoning and incest that surrounded them, are here compellingly re-examined by Johnson.
There are maps and genealogical tables, a select bibliography and a detailed index, and the text is enhanced by beautiful black & white and full-colour illustrations. This is a thoroughly researched and well-written book, and I highly recommend it.
