I could have read a better book instead of this one
It was not the best book I've ever read. It was realistic but not My type at all. It's about a drought which threatens to destroy the Farm and a girl name Dutch is growing up and her cousin comes to visit. I could have picked a better book.

Dixie Storms
The summer seems neverending to fourteen year old Dutch Peyton. The drought her family is experiencing on their farm is destroying their crops, not to mention destroying their hope for the future. Even though that is more than the Peytons need to worry about, they have some difficult family situations that need to be worked out. Dutch learns a lot that summer, about love, life and family.

I would recommend Dixie Storms to anyone. The setting is vividly described, and the characters are realistic and true to life. Although the plot is somewhat slowly moving, Dixie Storms is still a terrific book.

a wonderful book
this book toke me two days to read i9 could not put it down it was the best bookn i ever read i wish barbra hall wrote more books she is the best writier

Lone Star
The book that I read was called Lone Star because I think that describes the way that she feltwhen she moved to Texas. Lone Star is a good book. It's not really great but it's not really bad either. The author did a goo job in writhing the story and the main character Jane had a lot of problems that the author pointed out really well. The only problem with the book is that the chapters a too short. If I were to compare this book to any others, then I would have to say that some of the Harry Potter books would work. Harry is different from some of the other witches and wizards but Harry still tries to become friendswith them. The same goes for Jane except that shes not a witch and the only thing different from her and the others is her religion. I liked this book and the reasons are because it was well wriiten, the storyline was good, some of the characters seemed a little mean, but they seemed to add to the story. I would give this book a for out of 5 star rating for all of the good parts of the story

Lone Star
Lone Star was a great book. I love the way the author described the life of poor old Jane. Her parents costantly fight and her grandfather is REALLY religious. She has a lot of trouble making new friend, but she finally does and is happy! I like the book and would recommed the book to anyone who thinks that everybody are alike.

A awesome book
A surprising good book.If you think everyone is alike in the world this book will work for you.If you like your religon and doesn't matter what other religons are you will probably like this book.

Tough subject done well
Set in rural Oklahoma, a fifteen-year-old boy comes to terms with his prejudice and the deadly consequences of telling lies. Dusty Hamilton is raised by parents who don't overtly descriminate, their brand of discrimination against Native Americans is more insidious and more difficult to eradicate: the silent watchfulness of distrust. Mrs. Hay handles the inner conflict between prejudice and the desire to do the right thing deftly, weaving a well plotted intriguing story. The execution is not as adroit, especially the dream sequences which fail to adequately establish the motivation for some of Dusty's actions in support of Native Americans early in the story, but the subject is understandably difficult to address and Mrs. Hay does a commendable job.

My aunt finally did it.
I would like to commend my aunt for the years of hard work that she has put into her book. It wasn't easy for her to do it but I am glad that she did. I know that this doesn't really go into detail about the book that she wrote but I figure that anyone who is dillegent enough to write a book and have it published between taking my cousins to their multiple events is well worth the read. I wonder what she is going to do next!!

A fun, memorable story
Racial relations are often overblown and negative. Ms. Hay has managed to make understanding how the other side feels fun and engaging. The characters are memorable and realistic, and I still find myself thinking about them even days after devouring the story. Presents a wonderful story that kids are sure to enjoy, and all races can benefit from reading. Good read!

uh...
I think that I might have read this book once.

To tell you the truth, I am confused with the story, probably because I'm not old enough to understand all that college stuff. But the story is clear. Brogan (she's the narrator, isn't she?) is in love with her teacher.

I guess that's all.

Great Book For Young Feminists
With the start of her second semester social studies class, Brogan's life becomes more complicated. For starters, the new teacher at Bellmont High School (in Brooklyn, New York) pretty much steals her heart on the first day of class. He's brilliant and attractive and shares a lot of the same ideas Brogan has about society and the world. Too bad he's grown more interested in Rosanna Dakis (the beautiful, popular senior in their class) to notice Brogan even exists.

At home, it's not much better. Her parents--who she refers to by their first names, Nan and Buster, not "Mom" and "Dad"--are on the verge of a divorce. They're constantly fighting; Nan feels stifled and Buster is looking for a mistress, a secret he shamelessly tells his daughter. And, of course, Brogan is caught in the middle, feeling completely helpless and angry.

Between home and school, Brogan tries to find some balance in her life. The biggest help of all is from Gracie Pevsner, an older woman she meets while volunteering at the senior citizens center. Gracie inspires Brogan to be proactive and overcome her own ineptness and misery.

"Let Me Tell You Everything" is a great book for teenage girls who are struggling with their own identities as feminists.

Good Holocaust book
I liked this book because it has good detals. It ezplains what people had to go through during the Holocaust.I recomed this book because it is a good way to learn about the Holocaust. The strong point was when the war was over. The weak point was when the naizs killed alot of people.

I highly recommened this book.
Barbara Rogasky writes wounderfully. Though Smoke and Ashes is written for juvenilles, it is good enough for an adult to read. It captures the horror of the holocaust, and emphisizes "Never Again."

Good Driving, Amelia Bedilia ~ Herman Parish
This book is one that shows how a lot of things can be muisunderstood. It explains how people can screw up a direction, or just what someone si trying to tell them. It also teaches that when you are drving or doing some other important task, you need to concentrate, and make sure you know what you are doing. This book is full of surprises about what happened to Amelia Bedilia when Mr. Rodgers took her driving.

I like this book because these are some things that people do tend to confuse in life. IF you do not know how to drive, you should learn before you go on the road. This is a good childrens book on teaching responsibility and learning. I think many young kids will enjoy this book, escpecially when they are just learning how to read.

Good Driving, Amelia Bedelia
"Good Driving, Amelia Bedelia" is a story about a girl named Amelia Bedelia who wants to visit her cousin Alcolu so she can take a day off and rest on her birthday. Friends of hers, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers allow her to use their car to get to her cousin's house. But first Mr. Rogers takes Amelia out to make sure she still knows how to drive. Along the way, Amelia keeps misinterpreting Mr. Rogers's directions, like pushing on the horn of a cow instead of honking the car horn and misinterpreting a fork in the road as an actual kitchen utensil lying in the road. Soon their car gets a flat tire, but luckily a man in a towtruck happens to pass by and gives them a ride home where a party is waiting for Amelia.
I think that this is a pretty good book because it is fun to see how Amelia Bedelia can mix up just about anything Mr. Rogers says to her but I didn't find anything really special about it. The book is entirely for entertainment of how Amelia totally misinterprets everything around her.

good driving
Amelia Bedelia is out on the road in this adventure. She is taking a road trip and the reader gets to meet new frineds like Jack and the friendly framer. Fans of Amelia's books get to say hi to old friends like Mr.& Mrs. Rogers. Amelia goes driving with Mr. Rogers and they end up with a flat tier. They meet a friendly tow truck guy that takes them back to Mr. Roger's house where there is a suprise ending. I thought that this book was great and should be enjoyed by children of all ages. I rated it a 4.

Leaves me cold
This novel, which I found dull, involved Claire,a great ice-skater who's dreams are starting to go grey.

Utterly Perfect
This book (the entire 6 book series of Silver Skates from the late 1980's in fact) is worth hunting down. I first read it when I was ten. Now at twenty-two years of age I still enjoy this series about the ups and downs of serious competitive figure skating. If you enjoy Melissa Lowell's Silver Blades series, this is a step up. Here the writing is more mature, and the skaters are at a more advanced level. This is the best skating fiction has to offer.

i love ice skating stories
claire glass has a dream to be an olympic figure skater. after
years of practice, she tries out to get a spot at the lake placid
figure skating school. but she has her doubts. if she is not
excepted, should she quit, try harder or stay with her old
coach and see if she can still rise to the top. the author has
a very good handle on the life styles of the top comeitive figure skaters and i definielty recommend it to all ice skaters
like me who will never even get close to that type of dream.
