This is History we never read about in school.
John Gregory, the Georgia gold miner who saved the Pike's Peak gold rush and gave his name to the Gregory Toll Road, would have loved this book! It's all here, that terrible first road into the North Fork of Clear Creek in the Colorado mountains, the toll road tht followed, and the people who followed the roads. Full of original quotes and pictures. I was amazed to learn that the miners set the mountains on fire in order to find their way around. The fires, which were visible far out on the prairie, were called the miners' fires.

The History of the Gregory Toll Road
This is the only book written about the toll road named for John Hamilton Gregory. The road traveled from the prairies north of Clear Creek through the mountains to the gold mining camps in the Little Kingdom of Gilpin, in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. It was followed by thousands of goldseekers jubliant with hope. Many returned, chased away by winter and poor prospects. Theirs was a chorus of hope mingled with despair, a chorus which this book captures. I enjoyed it very much. Today's road through Golden Gate Canyon follows that old toll road.

John Gregory Country
This is a fun trip through the early days in Colorado's History. The pictures are well chosen. Anyone who has ever spent time in Colorado should pick this up! I got my copy and could not put it down.

One of my favorites!!! A must read!!!
Just this once is one of Jill Gregory's finest. I love the characters specially Josie . A page turner. The unpredictable plot(meant in a good way) will make you look forward for the next thing to happen.

Not your average romance!! Better!!
I thought this book was VERY enjoyable. It was romantic and fun and heart warming and heart breaking all at once. It was great, full of adventure. I highly recommend this to anyone that enjoys reading adventure romances with a twist of danger and such appealing characters. Ethan and Josie are fabulous. Josie is not the withering little baby you usually get in romance novels, she is strong and quick and a regular heroin herself. A great book, a better romance then I have read in a very long time.

WONDERFUL & ROMANTIC!!!!!!!
I loved this book! Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. I finished it in one night. I just loved the characters. Josie and Ethan were just what eachother needed. Thank you Jill Gregory for writing such a romantic story with just the right amount of suspense.

Excellent Book!!
Anyone who is in a long distance relationship should definitely read this book. It offers great advice and insight on how to manage your relationship. There are other books about relationships out there but this one is simply the best when it comes to long distance relationships. Great for all types of relationships and for young or old readers.

Bang! Target. . . dead center!
This book hits the mark! "Long Distance Relationships" is the most complete book of little-known but critical "ground rules" for a happy, healthy and successful long distance relationship you will find.

Awesome!
I've been in a long-distance relationship for almost three years now and I've read about 4 books on long-distance relationships before this one. When I noticed it on Amazon I got a copy and Wow! was I surprised! This book is awesome! I had high expectations before I got it, after looking at the cover and reading the author bio. It seemed like it was going to be very different than the other books I read (I hoped!). I wasn't disappointed. The author writes not only from his own experience (which is what most of the other books base their recommendations on) but also from studies that he and other researchers did on couples in long-distance relationships. After reading it I felt so much better about my own LDR because I knew that when he said things like, "LDRs don't break up any more frequently than other couples" he knew what he was talking about. Each chapter in the book starts with a couple describing their own LDR difficulties, then the author goes on to discuss the research on that issue and then makes these "survival tips" that are practical suggestions based on the research. The book has some incredible tips! Things that my boyfriend and I hadn't been doing but are now! The back section has a whole list of other books on LDRs and articles and stories and discusses each one. I haven't looked any up yet but I will. The beginning has a test you can take to see where there are problems (if any) in your relationship and then subsequent chapters address each of these. The "feel" of this book is so different from the others I've read, not just because it's longer and more detailed but it seems more accurate since it's not based only on one person's experience. I recommend this book to everyone in an LDR -- the others are okay too but this one clearly sets the standard. Good luck to you all!

courage against evil
Inter-universe travelers alight on a culture approximately European medieval but polytheistic. The travelers have powers which seem supernatural to the natives. A bad traveler, himself an atheist, but with motives like a Satanist's, pretends to be a local god, and two good travelers, one trapped in an inappropriate body, work to foil his plans for general destruction. Good portrayals of varied persons, including honest clergy deceived by apparitions; a strong presumption of objective morality, although no "real" God appears; adventure of good people fighting powerful opponent. There is an unseen background of a multiverse with some civilization's members moving among the universes, but the nature of the civilization is unclear; there are a few glimpses of the other universes, and the battle between the good and bad travelers is part of something bigger, although there seem to be no books about the rest of the saga.

One of the best books I've ver read.
I don't understand why this book is out of print or why Frost hasn't written any other books. Lyrec, while a simple title, is an EXCELLENT book.

This is one of those books that once you start reading your hooked and cant put it down. If your looking for one of the best Fantasy books ever written, try and get a copy. You WONT regret it!

Good story
Okay, Gregory Frost gets my personal pullitzer for one big fat reason: his writing is very sensually evocative. What I mean by that is when you read this you will be able to experience this story with multiple senses. I can't see why this is out of print. People must be stupid or something.

A BOOK THAT LIVES UP TO ITS TITLE
I bought this book because I was lost and I needed some direction. The Meaning of Life has clarifyed so many things for me. Tom Gregory earnestly bares his soul into this magnificent piece of literature. The book is written in a fun style: full of lists, charts, personal allegories, quotes, and fundamental truths. The book is accessible to anyone, regardless of background or age. Tom Gregory has changed my life forever. His words have helped me to become in tune with the consciousness of love that manifests itself as our world, our lives. We are all perfect, unique beings of the Earth. Tom Gregory has made it easier for me to realize that. He covers a plethora of subjects. I am so very grateful that someone has brought these words alive. This is a novel that has changed the world.

The Bible without the guilt
"The Meaning of Life" is enlightening and a great reference guide to answer many of life's questions. It is a combination between the bible (without the guilt) and a new age guide. I love this book beause it just makes so much sense.

The Meaning of Life
This is a wise and compassionate guidebook that addresses a wide variety of spiritual questions, that anyone, whatever their spiritual path or religion, will find of value. With a spirit of tolerance, clear-cut solid advice, and a subtle dose of whimsey, Tom Gregory shows us not only how to infuse life with meaning, but how to create a better world.

The Best of the Three
This third book of the triology was even better than the first
two, if possible. I have already purchased my next Philippa
Gregory book and am looking forward to reading it. She is a
complete author. Her books have history, suspense, romance,
and adventure.

WOW
All three books in the series were great but I felt the charecters in this one were incredible. It was like I felt what she felt, It really inspired me. The girl Meridon was ws just trying to find who she was, like so many of us are. It was fantastic.

The Lacey trilogy ends on a high note
This book, the last of the three books about the Laceys of Wideacre, manages to be both very different from its predecessors, and also just as good. Wild gypsy girl Meridon lives hard and keeps her heart well guarded. Her abusive father, indifferent mother, and completely selfish sister make Meridon cynical and very tough. Yet despite the hardness of her life travelling, Meridon has one delight... her dreams of a beautiful home far away called "Wide" - a place where she is rich and loved and warm... do Meridon's longings bring her back to her ancestral home, and lead her into a life of happiness and luxury? You never know with that Lacey family. I would reccommed reading the book to find out...

Possessed of a Unique and Powerful gift ...
I first read this book in 1974, shortly after reporting to my duty station aboad a US Navy vessel. I read it because I remembered that Dick Gregory was a very funny man, and I really needed a good laugh. I got MUCH more than I bargained for.

Each of us has some pivotal moment in our lives. I guess I was waiting to arrive at mine, because I remember being pretty apathetic about most things. THIS BOOK was one of three that served as my wake-up call. Dick Gregory's insight is an invaluable resource, and will serve as inspiration to almost anyone who undertakes to read this very enjoyable book. (In case you're wondering what the other two books were, one was Robert Pirsig's "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" and the other was "The Autobiography of Malcom X".)

Awesome, humorous tale of history
This book was great. No More Lies tells history like it was, not like every white guy wants it to be. Gregory teaches about parts of history ignored in our high school books. He uses quotes and keeps it real. Also, his great sense of humor beats out any other modern history writer. Gregory keeps your attention throughout the whole book. For anyone looking for a fresh and often sarcastic perspective on history this book is highly recommended.

Superb UnMatched Concise All N.path you need for the Board
If there is 7 stars rating i will do.
Well written straight forward, No BS.
Outstanding tables
could master Neuropatholgy (only to answer your Board question)in a week.
The only thing . hehehe, i had to read it backward!!
I guess thats have to do with me as a neurosurgeon !!
Wish it to be Online!! or as an E.Book or PDA format!!
Needs Review questions at the end of each chapter.

Fun with Neuropathology
Amazingly enough a concise, clear AND entertaining book about neuropathology. The only minus: The pictures are black and white - but on the other hand by this we are trained to memorize structures, not colours. So for me as a resident in neurology, a very good match - not a textbook but I do not want to become a neuropathologist but a neurologist to begin with...

Practical Review of Neuropathology
This text serves as an outstanding reference for medical students, neurology and pathology residents, as well as practicing pathologists and neurologists. Both authors have a great sense of humor, which adds to the enjoyment of reading this book.
